i have updated my system to ultimate x64 sp1.
now in device manager, i found one unknown device(which is shown in Other Devices in Device manager), i tried most of drivers for it.
but not able to get it. i even do not know what device it is.
I have windows vista x64 installed. My system is an AMD 64 X2 6000+, ASUS M2A - VM motherboard. I cannot figure out what device is unknown. Can someone give me any ideas what it could be? I've used Driver Detective and it says all of my drivers are up-to-date.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm running Home Premium 64 on a Sony Vaio Laptop (CS170F). I'm having a curious problem: Yesterday I plugged into the machine the dongle of my wireless logitech mouse, and for some reason the machine said "Your unknown device is ready to use" (my OS is in spanish, the messages may not be accurately translated). Since then, an annoying message pops every few seconds warning about an "unrecognized USB device", that "didn't work as expected". The best part is this, if I click on the tray icon, sometimes the informative dialog window is emply, an other times shows all the USB ports in the system plus one extra with a "unknown UBS device", even without any device plugged into the system. I've tryed removing the unknown device from the device manager, but it shows up again.
I have a Lenovo Thinkpad T60p and a Lenovo USB Webcam. I installed SP1 and the camera stopped working so I uninstalled SP1 and it still doesn't work, it appears as "Unknown device". Is Microsoft going to publish some solution? I see all the reports and there are a lot people having the same problem.Should I come back to XP?

It finds the driver but says it encounters a problem when installing. Its says: Nvidia GeForce 9200M GS access denied. I downloaded new drivers from Nvidia, installed them, restarted, no good. Tried uninstalling the device, restarting, installing driver = no good.

The BIOS recognizes it and the Sytem under Control Panel recognizes it. Anyone with the same issue? I don't have any performance problems and didn't even with the old bios. I attached a screenshot.
View 9 Replies View RelatedHave a 6 in 1 USB 2.0 Internal Media Card Reader on an old eMachine (D2266) that ran and worked on Win XP Pro x32. There is no Manufacturer's ID Tag anywhere on this unit. I installed this card reader into my Vista Home Premium x64 machine. Then plugged into an available motherboard USB port and turned on computer. The power light on the media reader lit indicating power, and Vista claimed "device successfully installed". Inserted a SD media card and device is not working. A check of device manager reveals an 'Unknown Device" on the roothub a check on the 'Drivers Tab'reveals "There are no installed drivers for this device" or something to that effect.
Everytime i use winrar (trillion times a day). User Account Control reports "an unidentified program wants to access your computer". It's not "unidentified" - I know what it is, i trust it & it's *my* computer - not Microsoft's. How do i tell UAC that? Or is it a Vista fail safe device to only allow the use of Microsoft Software?

I think I disabled it trying to update it. This was before I found this short sweet article from Microsoft. Does anyone know if I will experience problems in the future when this new technology gets more prevalent? If so, how do I get it back. I followed the instructions that a vista pro gave me to fix this problem and it shows in the reliability monitor that it was installed...but it is not showing int he device manager. Would it be installed but not show on the device manager?

View 6 Replies View RelatedCan not get my HP 7400 scanner to work after upgrading to Vista Ultimate 32 bit. Not the hardware - works fine under XP pro using same hardware configuration. Did a clean install, installed motherboard BIOS updates, scanner BIOS updates, Vista updates and the correct driver from HP. The scanner installed and Device Manager says device is working properly. When I try to scan, scanner initializes, starts to scan then locks up. Then can no longer be seen. ASUS M2N-E motherboard with AMD dual core. Other than that Vista works OK with the rest of my system
View 9 Replies View Relatedi have installed the correct driver for this belkin bluetooth usb dongle model: F8T012XX1 but in device manager, it has the belkin device and microsoft bluetooth enumerator, which is great. but when u get further down the list. it has a tab named "other devices" and then a subtab with "bluetooth peripheral device" which has an exclemation mark on it. i have searched for driver software using the update service but it cant find no update. i have looked for the name of the manufacturer but found nothing.i then disabled the unknown device, and sent a picture to my mobile phone. which confirmed that it was not the belkin bluetooth device. so i uninstalled the unknown device, restarted the computer. then when i logged in, it said that it had found a new device and wanted me to find the CD that came with it.

I do not know much about it as it is not mine, but the problem is the audio was cutting out and now there is nothing. The computer is not recognizing any type of audio device installed. Even in Device Manager, there is no option for Sound, game and controllers. I have tried downloading the driver and installing, but no luck there.

It then went to reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key. I went into the BIOS to change the boot order and inserted my Vista home premium 32bit. I then got windows is loading in files. After a short while I got the black start up screen with Microsoft Corporation but after a few seconds it just froze. Moments later it went to a blue screen with white writing part of which said the following; A PROBLEM HAS BEEN DETECTED AND WINDOWS HAS BEEN SHUT DOWN TO PREVENT DAMAGE TI YOUR COMPUTER.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI redid Vista and in my device manager, I'm getting two issues. One is my Coprocessor. It can't find the drivers for this.. Also it's having trouble with the "SM Bus Controller" driver. What exactly can I do to fix these two issues? This is a custom build so I don't have the luxury of having a restore disc or anything like this, which seems to be the common fix for this issue around the net.

All drives in the system are SATA, 2x Raptor 36GB, 1 Plextor DVD burner, and the new Samsung 250GB. The Raptors are currently not in a RAID. What occurs during Vista shutdown? It may give me some more insight into my problem.
During shutdown, the new drive gets thrashed for 3-5 minutes before the system drive updates config and shuts down. Could this be some sort of conflict with the controller? Raptors are SATA 150 and the Samsung is 300. Is Vista writing a system restore to that drive at shutdown? (A friend theorized that, and it sounded logical enough)
I've downloaded StepMania onto my computer so that i can play DDR and I have a game pad and a USB converter too so I configured everything and I'm really having no trouble but when i play the computer is reading the arrows as an analog and not separate buttons this really isn't and issue except for when i am holding one arrow down and i press on the other it only reads one making double notes impossible.
so i went into the control pannel, went into game controllers, and it says that it is a 4 axis 16 button joystick and when i go to properties and press the arrows it moves the axes in the direction of whatever arrow i press and only moves one way when I press both arrows...so my prediction was correct...what i can't figure out though is how to program the pad to read as buttons instead of a joystick axes?
i keep getting a thing where it says i need to install Coprocessor and SM bus controller? I have windows vista 64 bit.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have Vista Ultimate 64 and my xbox 360 controller. everything says it should load right up as soon as i plug it in, but it's not and i'm starting to get frustrated with it. I've downloaded and installed (running as admin) the xbox controller software and still the guide light is just flashing, my system does not recognize the device but it chimes when i unplug it and plug it back in. in the device manager it's showing up, but in control panel it does not.

Storage drives are to be connected to controller card. System boots fine as long as drives aren't connected to card. Once drives connected, system sits at boot-up splash screen w/ knight rider status bar. Never boots.

When I check on it, the message is that there is no driver and it is not working properly because it has a problem. I tried searching for a driver with no luck. What does A MSC do and how do I find a driver? There is no brand name listed for it.
