i want to send my word doc as an email but it contains pictures and these keep going as a seperate attachment. can i send the document with the pics embedded and the formatting in tact?

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I receive a Word document as an attachment in an email Windows Mail will not let me open it. The file is in the email and has the proper icon and file extension. When I try to open it it asks if I want to Save or Open the document; I choose Open. The I get an error message: "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Set Associations control panel." I can save the attachment to my desktop and then open it no problem but I don't think that I should have to do that. I should be able to double click on any attachment and it should open with the proper program, right?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am using Windows Vista Mail in the Vista Premium Home Version, 2007, Service Pack 2. Recently, I attached some reduced size photos (about 60kb each) to an email. When I sent the email, they remained attached but also, they opened up for viewing in the body of the email, making the email HUGE in size. I have searched for ways to turn this feature off, so that the attached photos do not open and show up in the body of the email, but without any luck. Therefore, currently I cannot turn this feature off. I only want photos to be attached, NOT OPEN UP to be viewed in the body of the email. Does anybody know how to change the setting in my Windows Mail so that the attachments will NOT open up?

Would you like to send the message anyway?" What is causing this problem? As far as I can tell, I do not have the

A customer of ours sends an email to my email address and the Vista guy's email address with a PDF attachment enclosed. I get the attachment, but the Vista guy does not. His email is blank with no attachment clip or nothing showing any kind of an attachment. How can that be? If I 'forward' the Vista guy in our office the same email that was sent to both of us, THEN he receives the attachment and can view it. How can someone forward an email attachment to two people and one of them not get it?? I've checked all his security settings and his firewall and nothing is amiss. He can get email attachments from everyone except this one customer.

There is a spot for the attachment (picture) to actually appear in the email--there is a red square box with a little "x" on the upper left side where the picture should be; but there is nothing in the box. But I can open the attachment with I click on it. The attachment is: image003.jpg(12.5KB). I am running Vista Home Premium with Norton's 360.

However, when I receive a vCard as an email attachment, it comes with a generic icon and won't open. I tried associating it with MS Outlook, so now it opens a new email, with the vcf file in the attachment spot. If I double-click that, it does it again. Of course, now I can't remove the association - and in any event I don't know what program to put in its place. I've tried clicking the "find appropriate programme on the web". It tells me that the file is a .vcf (I knew that) but doesn't provide me with the program I need. In the past Outlook has just automatically handled this stuff.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy system restore fails every time I attempt it. This has happened the last 3 times I had a need to attempt restore. (Three attempts separated by months in time, about different issues.) This time, I am thinking something may be wrong with my system restore function.
In this case, it is simply a matter of trying to roll back a browser update.
I saw a whole list of available restore points, and I went to the second one back - from only a few days ago. The restore failed.
I am using Windows Vista Home Premium, OEM from Gateway Laptop about 1.5 yrs old. I allow most updates.
When I try to send an email with an XML file attachment, the program (windows live mail) hangs and nothing gets to the outbox. I have to send it with a computer running XP.

When I first logon and try to open a file by double-clicking it, the program (e.g Word or Excel) opens and gives a message "There was a problem sending the command to the program". Until I shut down again, double-clicking files works fine. I suspect this is Explorer-related. Does anyone know a fix?

Protocol: SMTP, Port: 587, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E" error message. I can send using the webmail application, but not Windows Mail. I am using AVG and have tried uninstalling. No luck. Tried reinstalling without email scanning. No luck. I've changed my outgoing port to 587. No luck. I've checked "outgoing server requires authentication". No luck. Called ISP and they say it is a Windows Mail issue.

The .doc file extension is associated with Word and I have re-associated it several times. The file will open if I save it elsewhere or drag it to my desktop and then open it. Is there something in the registry or elsewhere.

It now takes for ever if I want to send attachments, for it to fail right at the end. sorry i didnt copy my error but its usually lsays oses connection with server is the error. if i am lucky if i just send a few words the email sends other wise i have to send my emails thru the road runner internet site.
