I cannot send or recieve emails, In my accounts set up i have said my incoming server name is pop.microsoft.com and outgoing as smtp.microsoft.com.
View 9 Repliesi recently purchased a new laptop, which has Windows Live mail installed. I tried to set up an account using hotmail, which i could not do so i set up a live email address. each time i log on to my account i get the following error message
the host SMTP could not be found. please verify that you have entered the server correctly. I get the same message for the POP3 error message. so the questions are as follows:
1. what are the live server addresses?
2. where do i go in and change them?
Is it possible to set an smtp server to recieve emails from a custom domain?

Today, however, I wanted to reply to a craigslist seller and found that my computer was trying to send the email with windows mail (and not sending!)- it was asking me questions like who my outgoing server and incoming server is - can anyone tell me what I need to do? I have no idea what any of this is about, all very confusing and frustrating. Im trying to send an email to the school from a site i have to send it from. And it says to set it up but i dont know what the incoming e-mail server type is. And dont know what IMAP or POP3 is and what goes in there for the incoming mail server. As well as the outgoing e-mail server name (SMTP) I'm so clueless and usually confused when it comes to technical stuff on cumputers.

How can I get my email to always appear on both computers?

So this is my first post on here, and its a good one!! I've have this prompt to install Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition Service Pack 3 (KB955706) for quite some time now but it never installs, It keeps saying Some updates failed to install, I have no idea if i need to install this but its really annoying if i go into sleep mode it tries installing and the same when i shut down, is there any way of installing this at all?
