Triple-booting - What Order To Install The Operating Systems

I've been using WinXP Pro since it was first released and I'm very happy with it. However, I have a requirement to learn about Vista and Linux so I recently bought a 500GB hard drive and intend to partition it in the following way: three partitions, each 50GB in size, one for XP, one for Vista Ultimate and one for Linux (probably Ubuntu) with the remainder of the disc probably split into either two or three partitions for music, photos and user documents/data. My question is, in what order do I install the operating systems, so that when I power up the machine, I'm presented with the choice of which OS to boot into?

I've been using Vista Ultimate for a while, now Windows 7 7100(Which is awesome). In both operating systems, Excel thumbnails have never worked, only for the other office 2007 applications. Anyone know why this is?

I have windows vista x64.Recently I installed Ubuntu using its Wubi installer but when it failed to
uninstall properly I deleted its all folders and files manually. But I am not able to delete its entry from list of OSes at boot-up? How can delete its entry?

I was wonder if anyone know a solution for the following problem. I have a ethernet hard drive and I've never had a problem until using vista and windows server 2008. both operating systems are unable to browse the drive, instead it completely crashes explorer.exe. Windows server 2003 & XP have never had trouble.

I'm going to reinstall Vista 64-bit Home Premium. Should I install both the service packs first, -and then- the security updates and miscellaneous thingies? Or should I install all the security and miscellaneous thingies first, -and then- SP1 and then SP2 after that?

i have tried to re-install the vista operating system on my sons packard bell pc using the recovery partition but this has failed it hangs at the "starting windows for the first please wait" screen we weren't given a disk so i am downloading a copy and want to activate it using the proper key that came with the pc but it isn't printed on the case so i am stuck as to what i can do the pc was bought from curries christmas 2007 do i have any options through them or packard bell

When I Try And Install Vista On This Computer, It Starts Loading At The Grey Bar Screen At The Begining And Before It Gets Into The Installer The System Restarts! This Is A Fresh Slef-Booting Install On A New HDD And I Don't Know What Could Be Wrong?! I Have Installed/Built Many Vista Systems And Nevewr Had This Problem..I Have Set The DVD Drive To The 1st Boot Device And The HDD To The 2nd.

I have dual boot machine, XP and Vista on two separate SATA II hard drives. I am, hypothetically speaking, going to slot in 3rd 500Gb hard drive to install Mac OS 10.5.1. So far, hypothetically speaking, I managed to find instructions on how to install Kalyway on separate partition on the same hard drive but nothing on separate hard drive.
I am being paranoid of destroying boot loader, but I can not tell for certain which boot loader I am using when booting into Vista and which boot loader when booting into XP or they are two totally different ones. Basically when I turn my machine on, after a few seconds I get promoted to choose which OS I want to go to. That's what I want to get if I was, hypothetically speaking, going to install Mac OS 10.5.1.

I just read on another thread that my Phenom may not support triple channel. Does this mean we can't have 3 2GB sticks in the slots and we should get one more to even things up? (we had originally bought a 3 pack and I don't know if we can buy a single stick of that type here). I then read that having 4 sticks of DDR3 in can cause problems too - now I don't know what to believe

I had a perfectly good dual boot Vista and XP system until I installed Windows 7 RC. I installed Windows 7 RC to a new partition on the Vista (slave drive) with XP installed on the master drive. Vista and Windows 7 booted okay but despite there being 3 options in the boot menu - Earlier Version of Windows (XP), Vista and Windows 7, XP would not (and will not) boot. The error message when selecting XP from the boot menu was that the boot.ini file is invalid; I then get a message saying that the system32hal.dll is corrupt or missing.
I used EasyBCD to restore a backup of the previous Vista boot loader which worked with XP. Windows 7 disappeared from the boot options but I still cannot boot in to XP - I get the same error message (boot.ini and hal.dll). I can boot in to Vista. EasyBCD tells me that there are 2 entries in the Vista bootloader:.....

I've had waiting for XP x64 & finally Vista x64 Drivers to be released to take advantage of my dual core 64 bit hardware after XP x64 became orphaned by the hardware manufacturers it's occurred to me to ask; when will PC manufacturers finally ship new systems with Vista x64 or any 64 bit OS for that matter.......

I have just re-install Windows Vista Home Premium 32Bits and during the installation the system made a partition of the documnets in the previous version or settings of Vista. It create a folder called "Windows.Old". previously in another installations appered the same folder and I got deleted, but now I can't. It takes me about 22GB of my hard disk and I really need that space, but now I don't know what happen because I can't delete the folder.. It says: "you need premission for perform this action". I am log on as Adminisrator and I tried to delete it in Safe Mode.

I recently installed a screensaver and now wish to uninstall it, but when I click on Control Panel and "Uninstall a Program" it isn't in the list. I'm unable to uninstall it from the Screensavers screen as well. How can I uninstall this screensaver without having to do a systems restore?

In order to understand my problem first let me describe wonderful world I was in XP professional.
1. I had two laptops running XP professional. They were member of domain say XXX.
2. In both laptops on Cdrive I had shared folder myPrivateData
3. In office (while connected to domain) both laptop could see shared folders of each other.
4. In home I signed on with cashed credentials of domain and could operate as peer to peer network without any problem. (i.e. I signed on using domainnameuserid profile)
Problem:
My problem started when I replaced one laptop with new laptop installed with vista business 64............

I am currently in the process of configuring a new Dell XPS 630. I want the system to be primarily for gaming. I have yet to use a PC with Vista, so needless to say I am not familiar with it, let alone the difference between Vista 32-bit and 64 bit systems. The price difference between the 32- and 64-bit systems that I am debating between is very small. Anyway, my questions and concerns are. Is there an advantage to having a 62-bit version over a 32-bit version of vista when it comes to gaming? Any performance problems/issues of one or the other?
If I get the 64-bit version, will 4GB of RAM be enough for gaming or do I need more? Which processor will be better... Intel® Core™2 Q6600 Quad-Core (8MB L2 cache,2.40GHz,1066FSB) or Intel® Core™2 E8500 (6MB,3.16 GHz, 1333FSB)? How much hard drive space does the OS take up? Would a 500GB hard drive be a decent size. (assuming I plan to remove most games after they are completed)Here is the configuration Im looking at. Price with shipping comes to $1216 USD. Plus I have $550 worth of Dell gift cards I've been saving. Nice thing is 19in monitor is included.........

This is a very interesting release. It adds full support for a lot of new hardware. AMCC/3WARE users will be happy to see SMART data for all of their EIDE/SATA hard disks. Full Intel QST support has been added too (you need to RUN AS ADMIN on some OS). Support for new SMBuses (like nVidia MCP79 and SiS968) is there. New chips (like the ADT7470 and the ADT7462) have been added and support has been improved for some others. ITET8720 identification has been greatly improved. DELL support is now tested on more chipsets. Windows7 32 and 64 bit has been added and verified. Both the installer and the executable are now digitally signed. Like many other users I see on this forum, which I think is great by the way, I am new to the game of Vista and find that i have much to learn. I have a question regarding Graohics cards for someone to answer. I am running an ATI (POwerColor) 4850 and the local company that built the computer for me claims that the ATI Catalyst Control Centre will not run properly with Vista x64 systems. The card itself is running fine, but I began qustioning them on this when I found no control centre installed. The CCC apparently causes the card to crash quite often, so they suggested I only install the driver and not the CCC the next time I update. Makes me a little nervous to install the 8.12 driver now!!

I have tried a few times to download Java from Sun Micro-systems but each time it says it failed. Anywhere else i can get it? Also at the right hand side of my vista by the clock there is a place you can enlarge your web page. I have to put it on 150 each new web site i go to. Is there anyway it can be put on 150 always? I know about the ease of access center and set that one right.

On one of my computers a newly created Folder In my Documents does not find its correct space in alphabetical order when the name is inserted but stays at the bottom of the list of Folders in My Documents, requiring it to be placed in the correct place by hand incurring all the difficulties of merging Folders at the same time - all time consuming. Is there a way of correcting this? The Technical Assistance for HP Compaq failed to find a solution - maybe you readers are better equipped with the grey matter than they are?

I've got it set up to my tastes. That said, one MAJOR annoyance I've come across is that no matter what I do, I cant keep the custom order of my 'All Programs' and 'Favorites' menus. I'm allowed to drag and drop in the order that I like, but every time I restart it's always put back in alphabetical order. I've unchecked the 'sort by alphabetical' in the 'customize start menu' panel, and I've made sure none of the folders are sorted by name... but
nothing seems to do it.
