Sd Card Reader Disappeared !
Feb 6, 2009About 2 days ago, my internal sd card reader disappeared from vista. Until
this time it works perfectly ( it was accessable via "computer" as removable
drives ) but after formatting my system and performing Windows updates, it's
gone. Usb drive on card reader still works but sd card slot not responding.
I've already tried reinstalling drivers, also installing a clean Vista but
nothing changed. And also tried activating removable drives management from
Vista options.
I think hardware is still ok but how can i use it again ?
Not Detect The Graphics Card
Jun 6, 2009Now i've installed Vista Home Premium 32-bit onto the system, but it will not detect the graphics card at all. Although i have got a display (Motherboard does not have on-board). I've tried using the driver disk supplied with the card, but it always tells me to go to the XFXForce website, so i do and download their drivers and install but CCC does not appear to get installed. I've tried the card in another Vista 32-bit System and it gets found and drivers install nicely and the card works fine. Is there anything wrong that i'm doing??

I foun some information at webside, make installation of different drivers version: 2.00.6, 2.00.7, 2.00.9, 2.0018. but it still dosn't solve my problem. I can't read any SD - cards. There is information: please format the card. I made also changes at regedit: from 16 to 1 but still the same problem. Maybe it's IRQ problem?

Jul 20, 2009I recently bought a Canon Rebel xti, and also a 2GB memory card along with it. I also got a Digital Concepts 21 in 1 card reader. Cin the card to the reader an error pops up saying the file doesn't have a program associated to it and i need to create one in the set associations control panel. I know where the set associations panel is, but i don't know how to actually associate a program to the reader.

I'm not sure exactly which device I am looking for in device manager). I downloaded and installed what I was told might be a fix (Texas Instruments PCIxx 20), to no avail. I would hate to have to buy an external card reader when I have a 9-in-1 built-in... and assuming I did, if this is a Vista problem, no guarantee even that would work

Jun 25, 2009I have a Dell Inspiron 530 running Vista Home Premium x64 SP2.It has an internal card reader,a TEAC CA-200,that connects internally to the front USB connector on the motherboard.When the reader works,it shows up at four drive letters in Windows Explorer. The problem is that it doesn't work.When I first boot the PC the drives show up. After plugging in and ejecting a memory card a few times,all the drive letters go away and when I try plugging in a memory card it occasionally gives me a USB Error message that talks about a missing driver.It lists six USB ports with one listed as unknown - driver missing.If I open the case and unplug and re-plug the reader cable, the drives are all found again.Then in short order they'll disappear again.I've worked with Dell tech support and they've replaced the reader and its cable with no improvement.I've updated the chipset drivers with no improvement.Dell's last suggestion was to reinstall Windows from scratch. Doing a Google search for "dell card reader not recognized"finds a LOT of reports of this problem and I've already tried the suggested fixes. Unless you have the solution,I can see only two options going forward.Pretend the reader isn't there and get an external card reader,or get an internal card reader that uses a standard USB cable to plug into an available port on an added USB card.

Mar 20, 2009I have a Vista 64 OS on an HP m9100z computer. It has an internal card reader. The reader used to work fine. But now (have live update on) the Card reader does not work properly. The reader is detected but with the yellow warning sign. When I plug in a card it does not show up in the drives and the warning sign would still be displayed. Removing the drivers and rebooting did not change the issue. But if I remove the driver and plug in a card and redetect or reboot while the card is in the reader it works properly. Any idea what is happening. The reader is an HP 10 in 1 reader.

May 26, 2009I have to set up a smart card reader on Vista Home Premium 64 bit for a user, but cannot get it to be recognized. It is an SCR331, about 6 years old. I have downloaded Vista64 drivers from SCMMicro but though the card reader will work on an XP machine, it will not work on Vist64. When I install it, or reboot and it detects new hardware, and tell it where I downloaded the drivers it says this folder does not contain the necessary drivers. If I look at the 32bit drivers online it says there is a firmware upgrade but I do not want to apply that and have the reader stop working on the XP machine as well.

Mar 21, 2009I have a built in sd card reader in my Rizeon laptop which appears in device manager as working ok and most upto date driver installed. It also appears in the safely remove device icon. However nothing appears in my computer and I cannot find any way to access the drive. I have windows vista home premium installed fully updated. Feb 6, 2009I am running Vista Home Premium, 6.0, SP1. I have a Lexmark 8350 that has been running fine. Today I decided to use the Photo Card reading capability on the Lexmark. I put an xD photo card in and the printer read it fine, allowed me to view and print photos from the printer LCD screen. However, when I try to "save to computer" I have problems. It brings up the interface window on the computer with the message "Cannot detect photo card inserted". Which is odd, since the card is definitely inserted with the photos being read by the printer.

Refresh / Flush DNS
Mar 18, 2009I have two user accounts on my home PC. It's Vista Home Premium.
I am administrator on my PC. When I check my user account, it confirms this.
However, when I try, thru a CMD prompt, to do ipconfig /flushdns, I get an error message saying "The requested operation requires elevation."
The prompt is C:UsersBruce which implies I'm not the administrator.
How do I get to the right place to clear the DNS? It's causing me some trouble.
I'm on a home wireless network, just my notebook and the wireless router (attached to a cable modem).
Refresh IP Address?
Mar 23, 2008my OS is Vista Ultimate, and I get IP from dhcp server to connect Internet I mean my IP is like 10.x.x.x. When I was using XP, If I use ipconfig/release & ipconfig/renew, then I can get a new IP from dhcp. But now, the method above can't refresh my dynamic IP address. If I want to change my IP address, I must first set a static IP and connect to gateway then disable my ethernet adapter, cancel the static IP and use dhcp again. Finally, MAYBE I can get a new IP. Even I reboot or shut down my computer for a whole day. When my computer gets to dhcp server if there isn't any other computer is USING my IP then I can't get a new one. I want to know, How can I refresh my IP address easily under Vista?

Missing SD Reader
Aug 6, 2009I have a Gateway ML6703 Notebook running Windows Vista Home Premium 32-Bit.I had to reload windows because of a windows update that put my computer in a forever restart loop. Anyway, after the reload I noticed I'm missing the drive I need to look at my photos how to find out who the model/vendor is? I looked in the device manager and
uninstalled the Mass Storage Controller, which doen't say what it is or even if it is the reader, then reboot. The computer does a search but doesn'tfind anything, then asks to insert the disk that came with the drive which I never had. I also tried the operating disc but my machine doesn't find it there either.
