Sd Card Reader Disappeared !

About 2 days ago, my internal sd card reader disappeared from vista. Until
this time it works perfectly ( it was accessable via "computer" as removable
drives ) but after formatting my system and performing Windows updates, it's
gone. Usb drive on card reader still works but sd card slot not responding.
I've already tried reinstalling drivers, also installing a clean Vista but
nothing changed. And also tried activating removable drives management from
Vista options.
I think hardware is still ok but how can i use it again ?

the problem is with card reader. System VISTA HOME PTEMIUM 32 bit. I fight with this problem few weeks. Manufacture is Texas oinstruments - PCI XX12. I foun some information at webside, make installation of different drivers version: 2.00.6, 2.00.7, 2.00.9, 2.0018. but it still dosn't solve my problem. I can't read any SD - cards. There is information: please format the card. I made also changes at regedit: from 16 to 1 but still the same problem. Maybe it's IRQ problem?

i have the same problem with my p.c. i have a toshiba satellite a135 running vista 32 bit home premium,when i plug in lexar 1 mb sd card into the built in card reader of course windows does not recognize the card.

I recently bought a Canon Rebel xti, and also a 2GB memory card along with it. I also got a Digital Concepts 21 in 1 card reader. Cin the card to the reader an error pops up saying the file doesn't have a program associated to it and i need to create one in the set associations control panel. I know where the set associations panel is, but i don't know how to actually associate a program to the reader.

I am using an HP a1700n with Vista Home Premium. I cannot for the life of me figure out why my SD card reader will not read any cards. All of my drivers are up-to-date (I believe... I'm not sure exactly which device I am looking for in device manager). I downloaded and installed what I was told might be a fix (Texas Instruments PCIxx 20), to no avail. I would hate to have to buy an external card reader when I have a 9-in-1 built-in... and assuming I did, if this is a Vista problem, no guarantee even that would work

I have a Dell Inspiron 530 running Vista Home Premium x64 SP2.It has an internal card reader,a TEAC CA-200,that connects internally to the front USB connector on the motherboard.When the reader works,it shows up at four drive letters in Windows Explorer. The problem is that it doesn't work.When I first boot the PC the drives show up. After plugging in and ejecting a memory card a few times,all the drive letters go away and when I try plugging in a memory card it occasionally gives me a USB Error message that talks about a missing driver.It lists six USB ports with one listed as unknown - driver missing.If I open the case and unplug and re-plug the reader cable, the drives are all found again.Then in short order they'll disappear again.I've worked with Dell tech support and they've replaced the reader and its cable with no improvement.I've updated the chipset drivers with no improvement.Dell's last suggestion was to reinstall Windows from scratch. Doing a Google search for "dell card reader not recognized"finds a LOT of reports of this problem and I've already tried the suggested fixes. Unless you have the solution,I can see only two options going forward.Pretend the reader isn't there and get an external card reader,or get an internal card reader that uses a standard USB cable to plug into an available port on an added USB card.

I have a Vista 64 OS on an HP m9100z computer. It has an internal card reader. The reader used to work fine. But now (have live update on) the Card reader does not work properly. The reader is detected but with the yellow warning sign. When I plug in a card it does not show up in the drives and the warning sign would still be displayed. Removing the drivers and rebooting did not change the issue. But if I remove the driver and plug in a card and redetect or reboot while the card is in the reader it works properly. Any idea what is happening. The reader is an HP 10 in 1 reader.

I have to set up a smart card reader on Vista Home Premium 64 bit for a user, but cannot get it to be recognized. It is an SCR331, about 6 years old. I have downloaded Vista64 drivers from SCMMicro but though the card reader will work on an XP machine, it will not work on Vist64. When I install it, or reboot and it detects new hardware, and tell it where I downloaded the drivers it says this folder does not contain the necessary drivers. If I look at the 32bit drivers online it says there is a firmware upgrade but I do not want to apply that and have the reader stop working on the XP machine as well.

I just installed a new MB (Biostar MCP6P M2+) and CPU AMD 64 x2 Brisbane 4200+ 2.2ghz. overclocked to 2.8ghz. and installed Vista x64 Premium OS. I was trying to import some pictures into Picasa from an SD card via a multi card reader on my Canon MP130 printer and the program froze. I shut it down. When I tried to use my multi card reader attached to the MB it wanted to format my disk??? is this because I am using a x64 system? After a few more attempts my entire system froze. I hard rebooted and when the POST comes up it only shows the CPU info and stops?

I have a built in sd card reader in my Rizeon laptop which appears in device manager as working ok and most upto date driver installed. It also appears in the safely remove device icon. However nothing appears in my computer and I cannot find any way to access the drive. I have windows vista home premium installed fully updated. I suspect the problem could be something to do with windows vista. Any one else come across the same problem?

My Gateway computer has Vista Home Premium. My Toshiba laptop has XP.
I purchased a Sandisk Ultra II, 2GB to transfer data from my laptop to
the Gateway. The data transferred from the laptop to the Sandisk but
the computer with Vista does not see the data on the card. I saved a
photo from the Vista computer to the card and it shows up with the Vista
computer but not in the XP computer. Apparantly the card is fine. What
is my problem with Vista vs XP?

I have a Gateway ML6703 Notebook running Windows Vista Home Premium 32-Bit.I had to reload windows because of a windows update that put my computer in a forever restart loop. Anyway, after the reload I noticed I'm missing the drive I need to look at my photos how to find out who the model/vendor is? I looked in the device manager and
uninstalled the Mass Storage Controller, which doen't say what it is or even if it is the reader, then reboot. The computer does a search but doesn'tfind anything, then asks to insert the disk that came with the drive which I never had. I also tried the operating disc but my machine doesn't find it there either.

I purchased reader a month ago anticipating use on my new computer that just arrived. Then I find it will not work with Vista 64. I got spoiled with it on XP. Does anyone know when software will be available for Vista 64?If not does anyone know of a good fingerprint reader that is compatable with Vista 64?

Adobe reader will not open pdf files in Internet Explorer.
Also when I now go to the Adobe website the computer seizes.

For anyone is looking for an alternative to acrobat reader, then try foxit reader. I use it and am very happy with it, smaller footprint aswell than arobat reader.

If I try to print from acrobat reader (8.1), (vista home premium) to HP LJ1020, the printer is stuck. I have to remove it from registry and reinstall it. It work fin until I try to print from adobe reader.

When I've down load the adobe reader 8.1.2.Norw.ver. It down load only 93% and after insalling it wont release any .exe files.When I'm try to start eny program in the pc adobe answer :adobe reader can not open this (MSAScui.exe) because the are a file type do not support or the file is damaged,because this sent as an e-mail attachment and not decoded right. I am currently having problems resizing pdf files when viewing them in acrobat reader 8.0. Basically, the window will resize, but the content that I have opened will not. I am using windows vista ultimate x64.I have installed the reader normally, and I have also tried installing it under xp service pack 2 compatibility as an administrator. Additionally, I have tried running the reader in normal compatibility mode and xp sp2 compatibility as an administrator. I have also tried the foxit reader 2.0, which resizes the content, but seems to require a lot of cpu to do so and doesn't display the content as clearly as adobe's reader.Any workarounds, or other pdf reader recommendations?

Changed my old IDE CDRW/DVDR reader for a brand new DVDRW one (SATA), and I changed my CPUcooler ( had to remove all cords/connectors and replugg them again).Now when I boot up I got a "3Day remaining to Activate your Vista", and I have filled both my HDD's, I have ALOT of important infomration, family photos etc on my C: and I didn't change battery on the mainboard! ( I'm building computers as a hobby and i'v built over 10 systems, never seen this. OEM is bound to the mainboard, NOT THE DVD-RW unit

When I printed from adobe reader I got a message spooler problem and it will be closed. I you go to advance option and go to print as a image printing goes fine. So if the printer is stuck go to registry and delete your printer and reinstall printer drivers.

Since I have upgraded the PC to Vista, I cannot use anymore WinTV-HVR-1300 (PCI) (Same issue with PCTV Dual hybrid - PCI-Express). Vista simply hangs while booting, the last driver loaded is crcdisck.sys. If I remove the WinTV card Vista works perfectly. With WinXP all was working fine. I tried to remove all the cards from the PC... the issue happens when I insert the WinTV or the PCTV card... Of course I also tried to change some settings in the BIOS without success.

I have two other problems trying to install iTuens and Adobe reader 9.1 updates. I think is a registry problem. I run win vista 64bit. this is the error message I get when attempting to install the new Zune update:
No installation Media. cant find the media for installation package 'Zune'. It might be incomplete or corrupt. Error code: 0x80070002
When I go to the link at the bottom of the error message it takes me to a knowledge base. At this knowledge base it gives me the chance to troubleshoot and download the exe file. None of it works.

My Microsoft Fingerprint reader has recently stopped working. I have tried reinstalling drivers and software. The reader is illuminated, and shows as connected and working properly in device manager, but when I touch it nothing happens.

I am trying to get the Fingerprint Reader to work, but no luck! When I start the "Fingerprint registration wizard', I get the following message: "Error Invalid class string. Suspect installation problem." I have un-installed, re-installed at least 10times. no luck. I got the newest software from MicroSoft, DPPM_201_ENG.exe. (it says: VISTA Compatible).Mouse works just fine. I googled for an answer, I found the same problem that others also have, but nobody had an answer. I installed also under Windows XP, there it works perfectly with the same installation software. Checked at the MS-knowledge base, fix recommendations are more than 2 years old, tried it anyway, still no luck. Changed USB ports, ran it as Windows XP compatible, tried really everything, I am really at a loss. Hopefully someone out there has/had the same problem and got it working? After 2 days of trying I'm really getting..., well you know what I mean!

For some reason Vista stopped using Google Sketchup to open files with the SKP extension. (It started using Adobe Reader). If I attempt to navigate to and open the correct program (Open With | Chose Default Program | Browse) Sketchup is not added to the list of candidate programs (no error indicated -- just doesn't happen). I can open a file from within the Sketchup program or drag a file onto the Sketchup desktop icon but can't open with the correct program by double clicking the SKP file. What am I missing?
