I recently bought a Canon Rebel xti, and also a 2GB memory card along with it. I also got a Digital Concepts 21 in 1 card reader. Cin the card to the reader an error pops up saying the file doesn't have a program associated to it and i need to create one in the set associations control panel. I know where the set associations panel is, but i don't know how to actually associate a program to the reader.

this time it works perfectly ( it was accessable via "computer" as removable
drives ) but after formatting my system and performing Windows updates, it's
gone. Usb drive on card reader still works but sd card slot not responding.
I've already tried reinstalling drivers, also installing a clean Vista but
nothing changed. And also tried activating removable drives management from
Vista options.
I think hardware is still ok but how can i use it again ?
the problem is with card reader. System VISTA HOME PTEMIUM 32 bit. I fight with this problem few weeks. Manufacture is Texas oinstruments - PCI XX12. I foun some information at webside, make installation of different drivers version: 2.00.6, 2.00.7, 2.00.9, 2.0018. but it still dosn't solve my problem. I can't read any SD - cards. There is information: please format the card. I made also changes at regedit: from 16 to 1 but still the same problem. Maybe it's IRQ problem?

All of my drivers are up-to-date (I believe... I'm not sure exactly which device I am looking for in device manager). I downloaded and installed what I was told might be a fix (Texas Instruments PCIxx 20), to no avail. I would hate to have to buy an external card reader when I have a 9-in-1 built-in... and assuming I did, if this is a Vista problem, no guarantee even that would work

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Inspiron 530 running Vista Home Premium x64 SP2.It has an internal card reader,a TEAC CA-200,that connects internally to the front USB connector on the motherboard.When the reader works,it shows up at four drive letters in Windows Explorer. The problem is that it doesn't work.When I first boot the PC the drives show up. After plugging in and ejecting a memory card a few times,all the drive letters go away and when I try plugging in a memory card it occasionally gives me a USB Error message that talks about a missing driver.It lists six USB ports with one listed as unknown - driver missing.If I open the case and unplug and re-plug the reader cable, the drives are all found again.Then in short order they'll disappear again.I've worked with Dell tech support and they've replaced the reader and its cable with no improvement.I've updated the chipset drivers with no improvement.Dell's last suggestion was to reinstall Windows from scratch. Doing a Google search for "dell card reader not recognized"finds a LOT of reports of this problem and I've already tried the suggested fixes. Unless you have the solution,I can see only two options going forward.Pretend the reader isn't there and get an external card reader,or get an internal card reader that uses a standard USB cable to plug into an available port on an added USB card.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Vista 64 OS on an HP m9100z computer. It has an internal card reader. The reader used to work fine. But now (have live update on) the Card reader does not work properly. The reader is detected but with the yellow warning sign. When I plug in a card it does not show up in the drives and the warning sign would still be displayed. Removing the drivers and rebooting did not change the issue. But if I remove the driver and plug in a card and redetect or reboot while the card is in the reader it works properly. Any idea what is happening. The reader is an HP 10 in 1 reader.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have to set up a smart card reader on Vista Home Premium 64 bit for a user, but cannot get it to be recognized. It is an SCR331, about 6 years old. I have downloaded Vista64 drivers from SCMMicro but though the card reader will work on an XP machine, it will not work on Vist64. When I install it, or reboot and it detects new hardware, and tell it where I downloaded the drivers it says this folder does not contain the necessary drivers. If I look at the 32bit drivers online it says there is a firmware upgrade but I do not want to apply that and have the reader stop working on the XP machine as well.

I was trying to import some pictures into Picasa from an SD card via a multi card reader on my Canon MP130 printer and the program froze. I shut it down. When I tried to use my multi card reader attached to the MB it wanted to format my disk??? is this because I am using a x64 system? After a few more attempts my entire system froze. I hard rebooted and when the POST comes up it only shows the CPU info and stops?

It also appears in the safely remove device icon. However nothing appears in my computer and I cannot find any way to access the drive. I have windows vista home premium installed fully updated. I suspect the problem could be something to do with windows vista. Any one else come across the same problem?

Ive just formatted my hard drive and got a new graphics card -ATI 4870. When I try to run a game, using 'steam' it tries to install directx before failing, so I found the download myself and tried, it failed. The error said: 'INTERNAL SYSTEM ERROR OCCURRED refer to DxError.log and DirectX.log in your windows folder to determine problem.' So what any ideas, I need directx but I cant have directx. Wasnt sure if this post should go in here, gaming or graphics card. I figured here as its more a software issue.

USB devices I regularly use is my digital camera, my iPod, a bluetooth USB stick, my printer and my wireless mobile internet device. Every time I plug one of these in, I have to pray that it will be recognised. If it is a good day, and it is recognized, it does not show up in My Computer or in Windows Explorer and I cannot unplug it safely. With some of the devices, every time I plug it in, I get a pop-up which says it is updating the driver software, but it does not seem to make any difference.

Last i took out my video card and went to the on board video and tried that and yet it did not work ether. I tried reformatting thinking it was drivers or something didn't work ether. every time i try installing the OS i get General causes of "STOP 0x0000007F" errors Divide by zero error A divide by zero is caused when a DIV instruction is executed and the divisor is 0. Memory corruption (or other hardware problems) or software failures can cause this. anyone on here who knows XP well let me know im running a diagnostic test right now to find the problem.
when I plug my speakers into the rear panel, realtek device manager still shows that I have not plugged anything into the back jack, and I have checked about 10 times to make sure it is in the right hole, this is also the issue with my microphone, when I try to configure my speakers, it shows a red "x" and says "not plugged in" I don't know what the issue may be, it does the same for microphone as well, and I can't figure out how to fix this. Also the "configure" and "set default" button's are grayed out and I can't click them. Also I am trying to use analog speaker's if that makes any difference with responses.

There are no Flash/Shockwave, amongst others, 64-bit plug-in's available, so I am forced to use FF2 x86, as well as IE7 x86, and I don't understand how anybody browses without, at a minimum, the Adobe Flash Player plug-in.
Most sites that I frequent require the Adobe Flash player, some do the Shockwave, too. I watch a lot of CNN and NBC News, and both of those, amongst many others, require the Flash player. Is anyone aware of beta plug-in's, or an ETA as to when they'll be released? Is there any other (temporary) solution that I am unaware of.

I will install the plug-in, then when I go to a site that requires it, it says it's not installed, despite clearly being the Program registry.
When I use QuickTime, I can go to various sites that have QT movies and they load fine, but if I go to Apple.com, it says I need to grab the newest QuickTime. Silverlight apps won't load at all. Any time I go to Adobe's marketplace for AIR apps, despite having one running, it says that I need to install Air. This is in both IE7 and Firefox.
i installed adobe 8 and easy media creator 9 .the 1st one dont let me click the accept button in license user agreement. the 2nd dont show the home page with all the functions. its because i still cant get the activex controls/plug-ins working. the site requiring them just show a blank page

The left scan is of my daughter's computer; the right scan is mine (the two computers are identical I bought them at the same time): Here's what happened: When I recorded on my computer with a plug-in mic, the onboard mic didn't mute, so I was getting recordings from both mics at once. I tried to disable the onboard mic. But after doing that, I get a lot of white noise when I plug in a mic: How can I get it back to how it was? (There are no restore points that go back as far as when I made the changes). I really need step-by-step help here - I'm not all that computer savvy.

When I installed the patcher I get this error message that I have attached.FM Patcher is a small application that lets you change Photoshop .8bf plugins that were created with older versions of FilterMeister in order to make them work under Windows Vista. Normally developers just need to recompile their plugins with the latest FilterMeister release to make them Vista-compatible, but unfortunately some developers abandoned their plugins. So we decided to create FM Patcher to enable users of these old plugins to make them work under Vista.
At the moment Fm Patcher does not fix the problem that old FilterMeister plugins have with activated Data Execution Prevention (DEP). You still need to deactivate DEP in your control panel or place your graphics application on the DEP exclusion list.

I purchased a Sandisk Ultra II, 2GB to transfer data from my laptop to
the Gateway. The data transferred from the laptop to the Sandisk but
the computer with Vista does not see the data on the card. I saved a
photo from the Vista computer to the card and it shows up with the Vista
computer but not in the XP computer. Apparantly the card is fine. What

I have a Gateway ML6703 Notebook running Windows Vista Home Premium 32-Bit.I had to reload windows because of a windows update that put my computer in a forever restart loop. Anyway, after the reload I noticed I'm missing the drive I need to look at my photos how to find out who the model/vendor is? I looked in the device manager and
uninstalled the Mass Storage Controller, which doen't say what it is or even if it is the reader, then reboot. The computer does a search but doesn'tfind anything, then asks to insert the disk that came with the drive which I never had. I also tried the operating disc but my machine doesn't find it there either.
