Adobe 8.1.2 : Invalid Plug In Error
May 26, 2008I am getting an invalid plug in error and then the program closes when using Adobe 8.1.2. I uninstalled and reinstalled but get the same message.

Card Reader:When Plug In Gives Error
Jul 20, 2009I recently bought a Canon Rebel xti, and also a 2GB memory card along with it. I also got a Digital Concepts 21 in 1 card reader. Cin the card to the reader an error pops up saying the file doesn't have a program associated to it and i need to create one in the set associations control panel. I know where the set associations panel is, but i don't know how to actually associate a program to the reader.

Mar 23, 2008We have the Microsoft corporate program where you get the products to use through the enterprise. I have been trying to setup a test machine with the 64 bit version of Vista so burned the ISO we created for safge keeping off of one of our network drives. Disc seemingly gets created without issue however when I place it in the DVD drive and choose boot from CD/DVD I get the invalid system disk error just after it says this.

May 24, 2008I recently installed Vista Home premium on my 1 yr old computer that wassuppossed to be "Vista Ready" the upgrade came as part of the packagejust not got around to installing it until now, I have adobe acrobat pro6.0 plus pro 7 upgrade I also have downloaded Reader V8.1.2 with all ofthem I get the error message the program is not working and windows willlook for a solution and notify me etc etc, I have gone to adobe's
website to try and find a solution to no avail or at least nothing Ihaven't already tried I have quite a few other annoying little problemswith it but will deal with them one at a time.

May 3, 2010I ask because when I go into Programs and Features, neither of these are there. I do have an Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX and an Adobe AIR (whatever that is). I also now have an Adobe Download Manager which came when I downloaded the subject two programs. NOTE: The Flash Player shows as a plugin on Firefox
ALSO: The site told me to uninstall the older versions of these two programs prior to installing the new, but I don't have an older version of either. This came about because I was having a problem with a game that worked until after I installed the latest NVIDIA driver. The game manufacturer told me to install both of these as a measure to correct the issue. It didn't correct it BTW. Other games still work fine.

Mar 29, 2008I have a brand new HP laptop with running Vista Home Premium. USB devices I regularly use is my digital camera, my iPod, a bluetooth USB stick, my printer and my wireless mobile internet device. Every time I plug one of these in, I have to pray that it will be recognised. If it is a good day, and it is recognized, it does not show up in My Computer or in Windows Explorer and I cannot unplug it safely. With some of the devices, every time I plug it in, I get a pop-up which says it is updating the driver software, but it does not seem to make any difference.

May 3, 2008when I plug my speakers into the rear panel, realtek device manager still shows that I have not plugged anything into the back jack, and I have checked about 10 times to make sure it is in the right hole, this is also the issue with my microphone, when I try to configure my speakers, it shows a red "x" and says "not plugged in" I don't know what the issue may be, it does the same for microphone as well, and I can't figure out how to fix this. Also the "configure" and "set default" button's are grayed out and I can't click them. Also I am trying to use analog speaker's if that makes any difference with responses.

Feb 28, 2008Internet Explorer 7 in 64-bit mode: Awesome! Minefield, otherwise known as Firefox 3 Beta 3, the only x64 Firefox browser currently available. Incredible...BUT! There are no Flash/Shockwave, amongst others, 64-bit plug-in's available, so I am forced to use FF2 x86, as well as IE7 x86, and I don't understand how anybody browses without, at a minimum, the Adobe Flash Player plug-in.
Most sites that I frequent require the Adobe Flash player, some do the Shockwave, too. I watch a lot of CNN and NBC News, and both of those, amongst many others, require the Flash player. Is anyone aware of beta plug-in's, or an ETA as to when they'll be released? Is there any other (temporary) solution that I am unaware of.

Mar 10, 2009I can't track down the exact thing that changed, but many of my internet plug-ins (QuickTime, Silverlight, Air) won't work properly. I will install the plug-in, then when I go to a site that requires it, it says it's not installed, despite clearly being the Program registry.
When I use QuickTime, I can go to various sites that have QT movies and they load fine, but if I go to Apple.com, it says I need to grab the newest QuickTime. Silverlight apps won't load at all. Any time I go to Adobe's marketplace for AIR apps, despite having one running, it says that I need to install Air. This is in both IE7 and Firefox.

I tried to disable the onboard mic. But after doing that, I get a lot of white noise when I plug in a mic: How can I get it back to how it was? When I installed the patcher I get this error message that I have attached.FM Patcher is a small application that lets you change Photoshop .8bf plugins that were created with older versions of FilterMeister in order to make them work under Windows Vista. Normally developers just need to recompile their plugins with the latest FilterMeister release to make them Vista-compatible, but unfortunately some developers abandoned their plugins. So we decided to create FM Patcher to enable users of these old plugins to make them work under Vista.
At the moment Fm Patcher does not fix the problem that old FilterMeister plugins have with activated Data Execution Prevention (DEP). You still need to deactivate DEP in your control panel or place your graphics application on the DEP exclusion list.

Oct 3, 2008Vista has taken upon itself to invalidate my admin password on startup or when changing users. Fortunately my wifes account is also admin so i can login with hers and remove my password to gain access to my account. I have even created a new admin account for myself which worked OK for a day or two before it succumbed to the same problem. My wifes account is so far unaffected. Is there an easy fix or should I be very worried? This all seems to have started since I lost the internet (changing provider).

Of course the recommendations involve getting on line with the computer which will not open windows. The other resolutoin suggested is to type in the product key on the computer. I am reluctant to do that since it says that if VISTA does not start up then Windows will be lost and the computer may not work at all.

Invalid System Disk?
Aug 24, 2009Recently I started getting a black screeen with "Invalid system disk...Replace the disk, and then press any key" error at startup.
What could that mean? And when I just press a key, it starts up normally. Everytime my laptop boots, that error comes up, and I press a random key, and everything runs normally again.?

Invalid Pathway From Shortcut
Nov 20, 2007new to Vista and ignorant to most things about it. I just bought a new hp laptop and had Camedia master 1.2 installed on my old desktop,it uploaded my photos from my Olympus camera and let me manage them. When I put the software disc in the laptop and installed the program,it looked like Vista was going to accept it, it installed in programsprogram files and when I clicked on the shortcut it opened. Then I got the red x box,saying invalid pathway.
Since I believe it installed right why the problem? is there any way I can correct this,without spending up to a 150 for new software? I opened the program right from program files and still got the same invalid pathway answer and it had to close the program. I have Vista home premium.
Product Key Invalid For Activation
Nov 25, 2007I was redirected to a window that said "The Windows Vista Home Premium product key you typed is invalid for activation" -- quite a surprise, considering that Vista had worked near-perfectly for the 4 months that I've had my laptop, and that I've never had to key in a product key before! When I chose the option to manually type the product key, I received error message 0xCD004F050 with several warnings that I might be the victim of counterfeit software (again, quite a surprise!). I called the vendor's (Lenovo) customer support line, but the representative told me that I needed to get in touch with Microsoft. I called MS's customer support, but didn't want to pay a representative, especially if the only solution is to purchase another version of Vista.......
