Loaded Adobe Photoshop Elements: It Would Not Run And Requested That I Increase Windows Virtual RAM
Apr 24, 2009Running under Vista Home Premium SP1. I just loaded Adobe Photoshop Elements 2 (which had been running previously under WinXP with 500MB RAM) into my new PC with 3GB RAM. It would not run and requested that I increase Windows Virtual RAM! Task Manager shows RAM with Total=2939MB, Cached=2080MB, and Free=20MB. My first guess is that the problem has to do with having an administrator and five standard users, four of whom are minimum-user kids and should be removed (along with the kids).

May 27, 2008I have Vista Ultimate w/sp1 and I can play mpg files fine until I install Adobe Premiere Elements. After I install Elements I can double click an mpg file MP11 will open however nothing will play and no errors pop up. I have completely reformatted and reinstalled Vista done all the updates and still with Premiere Elements installed I can not play MPG files, uninstalled they play fine. I do not have any other media players etc installed and I have contacted Adobe who says it is a Microsoft problem.

Jul 15, 2009I have a new computer with Vista Home Premium 64. I installed the software I had been using on my old XP machine, and discovered difficulty with booting up Vista. I found I had to power off and re-power two or three times before it would even get far enough to do a start-up repair. Sometimes even this was not enough to get it to boot up, and I had to switch off and power up again, doing a second start-up repair. Having done the repair, it would then boot up fine, and work normally until shut-down. Next time it was switched on, the same trouble would occur again. So I restored it to factory settings, then reinstalled all the software, only to find the identical problem. I restored to factory settings again, and installed my various bits of software, item by item, shutting down the computer and then powering up again after each install.........

Nov 24, 2008I get up to the Install button, click it, and then it gives me a message saying "Error 1500, another installation is in progress. You must complete that installation before continuing this one." However, I'm not aware of any other programs that I'm installing.

And Photoshop, if you are a moron about the realities of color management like most Mac users-is the only dubious excuse for the Mac platform to exist.
When Vista came out most people were satisfied with their XP software, boxes and peripherals. Users do not switch stable staples without good reason. Unless they are Mac users. There is no rational, in the sense that Economists define rational, reason for the vast majority of the XP installed base to switch to Vista. There are overarching reasons not to switch to Vista..........
Adobe Photoshop CS3, 64-bit: Stopped Working And Then Sadly Asks To Close The Program
Jul 28, 2008I've got an Adobe Master Suite Collection CS3 Extended (AMSC CS3 Ext) installed on my computer. I have windows vista ultimate 64-bit OS. Now i very new to this blog so bare with me. If this problem has a solution. Anyways all of the programs (within AMSC CS3 Ext) run fine on my computer except (cue dramatic music) Photoshop CS3! Now i dont get an error or any kind of error when i installed the program but when i start the program it does like its going to start up and its loading the tools and stuff but when it gets to "Building TWAIN menu items" it turns a transparent white and says there is a problem and Photoshop cs3 has stopped working and then sadly asks to close the program. Adobe Shockwave 11.5 & Adobe Flash 10
May 3, 2010I ask because when I go into Programs and Features, neither of these are there. I do have an Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX and an Adobe AIR (whatever that is). I also now have an Adobe Download Manager which came when I downloaded the subject two programs. NOTE: The Flash Player shows as a plugin on Firefox
ALSO: The site told me to uninstall the older versions of these two programs prior to installing the new, but I don't have an older version of either. This came about because I was having a problem with a game that worked until after I installed the latest NVIDIA driver. The game manufacturer told me to install both of these as a measure to correct the issue. It didn't correct it BTW. Other games still work fine.

Mar 25, 2010On a number of occasions, after uninstalling a prog, a message box tells me that there are elements of the prog remaining and that these can be removed manually. It does not suggest a way of doing this.

Mar 27, 2009It's a new drive with nothing on it. I started converting it from an Amin command prompt about 5 hours ago. The LED on the drive is flashing and the Task Manager shows it's running but other than that I have no indication that it is in fact actually running. Below is what the command prompt window displays. It has not changed at all in the 5 hours. Has anyone else experienced this? How long does this process usually take?

Premier Elements Windows Keeps Closing Program
Sep 25, 2008I recently purchased a laptop with a 64bit Vista. I bought this laptop to help me edit videos and pictures using both the Premier Elements and Photoshop elements. I have is that when I'm working on Premier Elements windows keeps closing my program. I recently found out the PE 4 is 32bit compatible, not 64. Is it possible to run programs in a 32bit environment without downgrading my whole system to 32.

Mar 2, 2009My Elements 500G external hard drive has worked fine for years but recently it stopped showing up in "my computer" as a drive. I have windows vista and it recognizes that the elements drive is there (the safely remove hardware icon shows up and it appears in device management). I wouldn't be surprised if the drive was dying as I've had it awhile but since it's still recognized by the computer I was hoping there was some way to access it and salvage the files. Any one have any suggestions? (and I'm not particularly hardware savvy so anything that involves taking apart the drive is probably right out)

So I downloaded another Suit and tried to overwrite the old version with this new one. But it didn't install. So then I tried to uninstall The old Adobe suit from control panel but it would not happen. It would simply just bluff a loading mouse and then nothing would happen. Now I can not intall a new one and the old one is completely disfunctional. The message I get when I try to open a program is "The licensing subsystem has failed catastrophically. You must reinstall or call custumer support."

Oct 18, 2007Silly me bought CS3 not realising that Adobe was not supporting Vista 64. Have managed to get Photoshop, Dreamweaver, InDesign and Flash working fine. I downloaded the 8.1 Acrobat update today and 'I think' it's working okay but only time will tell.
However, I cannot get Illustrator to install. I've spoken with Adobe about this and they directed me to the kb401401 article and I found out that I was getting the 1401 error. I tried this fix even though it's for XP and it didn't work. Adobe tech support say there's nothing more they can do! how I might be able to get Illustrator to run?

I uninstalled the adobe 8.0 as instructed and attempted to download the Adobe 9.0 I get an ActiveX notice to allow or not allow so I click allow and it showed successful download, But when I go back to launch the website I again get the notice that I need to install Adobe 9.0.
I checked my programs file and Adobe 9.0 is NOT installed. How come it said I downloaded ok on the Adobe 9.0 site but it is not loaded?? I re-installed the Adobe 8.0 and it works just fine. I have uninstalled Adobe 8.0 and tried many times to get Adobe 9.0 to download and the same thing happens.
Cannot Be Delected Adobe Bridge
May 15, 2010If you make a folder, and call it " " (Alt+0160). Then it cannot be deleted. I accidentaly did this a while ago, and I was just checking whether it still did it. Nothing works to delete it, I have tried in command prompt, pressing delete, deleting in adobe bridge. And I cannot rename it too, the only way that I found to delete it was to use the Unlocker, so I don't need to know how to delete it, just simply why this happens?

Nov 9, 2008i am running vista home premium that came installed on my toshiba.
it was running a tad strangly but still running (not noticing the the computer name had been changed and various other items)..
then i was doing a normal update of adobe pdf reader and the install crashed. after that the microsoft installer wont work, i cant boot my computer normally altho it does open in safe mode - however, the windows installer wont work - even in safe mode.
when i try to boot it normally it seems to start fine but hangs once the desktop appears.....
i have tried repairing the startup process via the vista repair disc.
i have tried restoring back to a previous restore point
nothing so far has worked.
after doing the above i cant even start my computer normally (altho i can boot in safe) it seems to begin the process then the screen just goes black altho the disk light is still on....
i am now just about to reinstall my entire system but i would rather not have to do this....
is there anything else i can try? i have a time sensitive deadline that needs to be reached (of course) so i cant play around with this for too long.
Can't Print Running Adobe PDF As Administrator
Aug 21, 2008First this is a Windows issue not Adobe. I can print just fine with my user account (which has admim priviledges) when running the program in normal mode. If I run adobe as administrator (I have to run this way and I'll explain below) it says I have to choose a printer before performing this action. If I log directly into my admin acct then I have no problem printing.
NOTES:
I have to run in adim mode because I print pdf docs from my email program and I have to run it in admim mode to get it to work properly. I use AdvantageXI email program that is associated with my database software I use for work.
