I have a new Dell. When I tried to download some files, Adobe tried to install but would not work. I then tried to download Adobe 8.0 thru the web- it runs thru most of the download and then I get "fatal error".I have Vista.
Attempted to install Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Professional which generated the message: There is a known compatibility issue. Could find no specifics on what the specific issue was on the microsoft or adobe websiste. Working with Vista Ultimate on a 2.4Ghz machine with 4 Gb DDR memory.
I have two other problems trying to install iTuens and Adobe reader 9.1 updates. I think is a registry problem. I run win vista 64bit. this is the error message I get when attempting to install the new Zune update:
No installation Media. cant find the media for installation package 'Zune'. It might be incomplete or corrupt. Error code: 0x80070002
When I go to the link at the bottom of the error message it takes me to a knowledge base. At this knowledge base it gives me the chance to troubleshoot and download the exe file. None of it works.
I have uninstalled everything related to Adobe CS4 but still, there are two folders that cannot be deleted. One from C:ProgramDataAdobe (where ProgramData is hidden) and on C:Program FilesCommon FilesAdobe. The problem is, at startup, when I right-click on any file, folder or the like, Windows Installer keeps on opening to install Adobe Acrobat 9. I still have the Adobe Drive CS4 on the context menu even it is already uninstalled together with Adobe AIR. I tried everything I saw on this forum. But still, NONE worked. It (the files) won't allow me to change the permission settings given that I am the ONLY user.
I recently installed Vista Home premium on my 1 yr old computer that wassuppossed to be "Vista Ready" the upgrade came as part of the packagejust not got around to installing it until now, I have adobe acrobat pro6.0 plus pro 7 upgrade I also have downloaded Reader V8.1.2 with all ofthem I get the error message the program is not working and windows willlook for a solution and notify me etc etc, I have gone to adobe's website to try and find a solution to no avail or at least nothing Ihaven't already tried I have quite a few other annoying little problemswith it but will deal with them one at a time.
I ask because when I go into Programs and Features, neither of these are there. I do have an Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX and an Adobe AIR (whatever that is). I also now have an Adobe Download Manager which came when I downloaded the subject two programs. NOTE: The Flash Player shows as a plugin on Firefox
ALSO: The site told me to uninstall the older versions of these two programs prior to installing the new, but I don't have an older version of either. This came about because I was having a problem with a game that worked until after I installed the latest NVIDIA driver. The game manufacturer told me to install both of these as a measure to correct the issue. It didn't correct it BTW. Other games still work fine.
Trying to install Adobe reader on my Vista Home Premium (SP-2) system, I encountered numerous "privilege" problems. UAC is disabled, I R-Clicked on the installer and selected "Run as Administrator". The installation was interrupted numerous times, saying the installer lacked privileges to write to various different folders, mostly under the Program Data folder, and also in the Start Menu folder. On each occasion, I had to open Explorer, R-Click on the folder in question, and "Take Ownership" of it. I am the sole user of this system, so if I don't own the folders, who the hell does? My account is an administrator account.
This turned what should have been an uneventful 15 minute long procedure into an hour long hassle. Is there ANY way to get rid of this ownership nonsense so I don't have to go through this every time I install something? I thought disabling UAC was supposed to solve this problem. Unlike many, I'm not a real Vista basher, but this privilege/ownership business just has to go if you ask me.
being one of the slowest programs i ever encountered, i switched from Adobe Reader to Foxit Reader. In the programs and features area there is still an entry with the name getPLus for adobe. I have Adobe PSE6 still installed on my system but everywhere i look getPlus is for Reader. Is it safe to remove???
As an example, I can right click save them, view them on my machine = offline, but using the adobe.pdf helps at their web site.. when I hit the view pdf link, it close IE 7 down. I have all the adobe = pdf addon's turned on, Has no effect. How do I fix this ? I'm guessing I've been submarined by a new windows = update. This is not an OLD problem.
I have a cd with a lot of useful test on it in Adobe 5.0. When I try to open it, I get a message that says there are known incompatiblities. However, a trip to the Adobe website doesn't reveal a fix or a patch.
I recently bought a new Dell and had Vista Home Premium SP1 installed on it. I cannot get Adobe to work. I have installed Adobe 9 the latest version. I don't know what to do next. I have a Q8200 2.33 GHz 6GB 64 bit operating system.
I've been using Adobe suit collection CS3 and when I updated it I had a few issues with some of the programs. So I downloaded another Suit and tried to overwrite the old version with this new one. But it didn't install. So then I tried to uninstall The old Adobe suit from control panel but it would not happen. It would simply just bluff a loading mouse and then nothing would happen. Now I can not intall a new one and the old one is completely disfunctional. The message I get when I try to open a program is "The licensing subsystem has failed catastrophically. You must reinstall or call custumer support."
Silly me bought CS3 not realising that Adobe was not supporting Vista 64. Have managed to get Photoshop, Dreamweaver, InDesign and Flash working fine. I downloaded the 8.1 Acrobat update today and 'I think' it's working okay but only time will tell.
However, I cannot get Illustrator to install. I've spoken with Adobe about this and they directed me to the kb401401 article and I found out that I was getting the 1401 error. I tried this fix even though it's for XP and it didn't work. Adobe tech support say there's nothing more they can do! how I might be able to get Illustrator to run?
adobe #9 will not run tells me adobe has stopped running I have been getting this message with other programs. I have called dell they want to charge me to fix it. This unit is only 2 months old.
When I visit some sites it shows that I need to download Adobe 9.0. I uninstalled the adobe 8.0 as instructed and attempted to download the Adobe 9.0 I get an ActiveX notice to allow or not allow so I click allow and it showed successful download, But when I go back to launch the website I again get the notice that I need to install Adobe 9.0.
I checked my programs file and Adobe 9.0 is NOT installed. How come it said I downloaded ok on the Adobe 9.0 site but it is not loaded?? I re-installed the Adobe 8.0 and it works just fine. I have uninstalled Adobe 8.0 and tried many times to get Adobe 9.0 to download and the same thing happens.
If you make a folder, and call it " " (Alt+0160). Then it cannot be deleted. I accidentaly did this a while ago, and I was just checking whether it still did it. Nothing works to delete it, I have tried in command prompt, pressing delete, deleting in adobe bridge. And I cannot rename it too, the only way that I found to delete it was to use the Unlocker, so I don't need to know how to delete it, just simply why this happens?
i have installed Adobe Audition 3 and the DEP comes up, i tried this but couldn't figure out how to make Adobe work, i also downloaded an Adobe Auditon 3.0.1 patch, in a zip file, which others have said have fixed their problem, i am really new at this so don't know why Adobe 3 is still not opening up, a
i am running vista home premium that came installed on my toshiba.
it was running a tad strangly but still running (not noticing the the computer name had been changed and various other items)..
then i was doing a normal update of adobe pdf reader and the install crashed. after that the microsoft installer wont work, i cant boot my computer normally altho it does open in safe mode - however, the windows installer wont work - even in safe mode.
when i try to boot it normally it seems to start fine but hangs once the desktop appears.....
i have tried repairing the startup process via the vista repair disc.
i have tried restoring back to a previous restore point
nothing so far has worked.
after doing the above i cant even start my computer normally (altho i can boot in safe) it seems to begin the process then the screen just goes black altho the disk light is still on....
i am now just about to reinstall my entire system but i would rather not have to do this....
is there anything else i can try? i have a time sensitive deadline that needs to be reached (of course) so i cant play around with this for too long.
First this is a Windows issue not Adobe. I can print just fine with my user account (which has admim priviledges) when running the program in normal mode. If I run adobe as administrator (I have to run this way and I'll explain below) it says I have to choose a printer before performing this action. If I log directly into my admin acct then I have no problem printing.
NOTES:
I have to run in adim mode because I print pdf docs from my email program and I have to run it in admim mode to get it to work properly. I use AdvantageXI email program that is associated with my database software I use for work.
Vista shows that those who run Microsoft are stuck in the Windows 9x mentality of endless upgrade cycles. They failed to grasp that during the adaption of XP, and as a result of the actually quite good quality of XP, computers became a part of everyday personal and business life. The arbitrary changes to the Mac platform have come home to roost: Adobe is not working on a 64 bit version of Photoshop for the Mac OS because of uncertainty about the platform. And Photoshop, if you are a moron about the realities of color management like most Mac users-is the only dubious excuse for the Mac platform to exist.
When Vista came out most people were satisfied with their XP software, boxes and peripherals. Users do not switch stable staples without good reason. Unless they are Mac users. There is no rational, in the sense that Economists define rational, reason for the vast majority of the XP installed base to switch to Vista. There are overarching reasons not to switch to Vista..........
I have installed Windows Vista twice on the same PC. I'm now unable to access my work or get on the internet. All was working OK with just a minor problem with a conflict of loading Adobe Acrobat 5, 'I thought that I could correct this by re-loading the Vista Software wrong.Anyway, I'm now trying to correct things I have tried system restore 'no good' I have no back-up and I'm a bit lost I want to remove the latest installation of Vista and revert back to the original.
I am currently having problems resizing pdf files when viewing them in acrobat reader 8.0. Basically, the window will resize, but the content that I have opened will not. I am using windows vista ultimate x64.I have installed the reader normally, and I have also tried installing it under xp service pack 2 compatibility as an administrator. Additionally, I have tried running the reader in normal compatibility mode and xp sp2 compatibility as an administrator. I have also tried the foxit reader 2.0, which resizes the content, but seems to require a lot of cpu to do so and doesn't display the content as clearly as adobe's reader.Any workarounds, or other pdf reader recommendations?
How do I find Adobe Updater so I can close it so I can uninstall a program? I've looked through all my programs and I've searched in the search box and nothing comes up? But I keep getting the message to close it before I can continue to uninstall.
Is adobe flash player available for 64-bit browsers? I have been recently using 64 bit Internet Explorer and I cant use programs like Cafe World on Facebook.
