If I let my computer sit for roughly 1 hour or more the mouse stops working and I have to restart the computer via the keyboard. I've tried reconnecting from the transceiver and switching the mouse on/off and pressing the reset button. None of these things seem to do the trick.

I was using it when playing LoL (League of Legends), and just went to restroom and when I came back, it's not working anymore. I have thought that maybe it's just the batteries, and I've change it but still not working. I convinced myself that maybe it just died. I bought today a MS Wireless Mobile Mouse 3000, to my surprise it doesn't work. I've checked all my drivers and they we're up to date.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI was just wondering if anyone else had experienced these annoying freezes that occur randomly in Vista 64. It can happen while I'm playing a game, it can happen while I'm browsing firefox etc. I freeze up about 4 times a day and the only solution is a hard restart.
It is beyond me, I have the video card drivers up to snuff, all updates are installed, virus scanners/spyware scanners, video card isn't overheating, CPU idles at 33 loads at 42. I'll describe the problem a little better other than to just say it's freezing. When the freeze occurs, the entire screen stops moving, I cannot move my mouse, all sound stops working, and if there was a sound playing, it will get mutilated into a nasty buzz.
When I'm working in Internet Explorer, the right mouse button will randomly stop working. Also, when this happens, new windows that open automatically from the webpage or new tabs in the window do not load anything at all. Only IE suffers from this malady--all other programs function as they should. The only fix I have found for this is to perform a system restore. This fixes the problem temporarily, but after repeated use, IE does the same thing over again. I've restored my system dozens of times now, with no end in sight. Possible solutions?

When I ran Vista x86 Ultimate, I installed a small program that allowed me to double-click with middle mouse button. Now, with Vista x64 Ultimate, it doesn't work anymore.
Do someone know another small program to allow me that?
I am running Vista Home Premium on my laptop. I have a Brother wifi printer (although it connects to the router with a wire). I have 2 desktops and my laptop that use the printer. The two desktops use the printer without a problem. My laptop only works during the period after I add the network printer. When I reboot, it will seem to print to the printer but it just gets stored in the printer queue and won't print it.
Telling the print queue to try again doesn't do anything. If I delete the printer from my laptop and add it again as a new printer, it works great until the next reboot. I have no other printers in my printer list, only the Brother. None of the desktops (one Vista Home Premium, one XP) have this problem.
Everything works just fine on my new Vaio laptop running on Vista home premium, connecting to my wireless network TalkTalk (the router is Echolife HG520s), until the connection stops working but still says I'M CONNECTED PERFECTLY!
I thought it was a typical firewall problem so i tried with disabling Windows firewall and the mcafee security center but nothing seems to work except disabling the network hardware and enabling again.
I recently purchased a Dynex wireless optical mouse for my laptop running vista. after installing the driver and software I can not get the mouse to work. When I physically move the mouse the light on the receiver blinks but the mouse does not move on the screen. I tried plugging the mouse into another system I have running xp and have zero problems. When I open device manager and look under universal serial bus controllers, the standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller says it does not have enough free resources.

I did not have this problem on my old Computer (Vista 32bit) and now, it randomly freezes, and then works again. I have tried it on another Computer which is running a bit lower on specs, but runs vista 32bit, and theres no problems, what so ever on there. I have tried to reinstall the drivers (Also for Windows Vista 64Bit) from logitechs homepage, and reconnect the mouse in a different usb port, but no luck yet.

View 4 Replies View RelatedFor all of you G7 owners who continue to struggle with random freezing: As others have so eloquently noted there is a strong consenus that this is a hardware issue potentially related to multiple factors including radio interferance, battery malfunction / contact issues, usb power, etc. Here is a list of things to try, any of which may (or may not) solve the problem:
1) unplug the usb transmitter from the adapter and plug it back in. This did the trick for me about 50% of the time. Sometime toggling the DPI buttons (the + and - buttons on the mouse) up and down also helps.
2) if the freeze gets so bad that the cursor wouldn't move try shutting down the PC, unplugging the cord to the power supply, toggling the power supply switch to discharge the motherboard capacitors, then turn on the PC and reboot.
3) clean the battery contacts. Remove the battery and use one side of a Q-tip soaked in isopropanol and clean the contacts on the battery and inside the mouse (the 3 prongs sticking out of the end of the battery slot). Make sure to use the dry end of the Q-tip to remove all of the isopropanol before sticking the battery back into the mouse.
4) if the transmitter is near a wireless router or other transmitter (bluetooth radio, modem, etc.) place it as far away from these devices as possible.

Anyone happen to still be using a Logitech MX500? Before I start looking for a new mouse, I'd like to know if the "Cruise" functionality works without Mouseware (which isn't supported under Vista). Setpoint doesn't support this device AFAIK.I know that there are other ways to "fast scroll" around, but none of them offer the same speed of scrolling or ease-of-use.

I have ensured that the software for my Wireless Wave Logitech keyboard/mouse is up to date and also that Windows is up to date and I have run McAfee anti virus scans and Superantispyware and nothing untoward has been found. I have been trying to download and install the Caps lock gadget which used to work but no longer does. I have tried reinstalling it and rebooting several times but to no avail. I got in touch with Logitech who advised me to update SetPoint which I did , still didn't work so they very kindly sent me this new wireless keyboard/ mouse combo but the gadget in the sidebar still doesn't work. I also tried the battery monitor gadget and that doesn't work either.

It seems as though after I have been using the internet for a while or if I am using too much bandwidth (downloading a few things or have a couple windows open) my wireless stops. I have access to the network - just the actual wireless internet stops. I can't use the diagnose feature by right-clicking as it never has a solution that actually fixes it - I've tried them all. We have several other computers in the house and they don't have problems with it - it also happens when I'm at work as well. When I attach the computer directly to the modem (even while this problem happens) the internet works fine.The only fix is restarting - but that's quite annoying and happening often. I have downloaded the newest drivers for this computer from HP (its a DV9200 CTO pn: EZ345AV) and I can't figure it out.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a new Dell computer running Vista Home Premium. My Brother printer prints fine when hooked up via USB. But won't print wirelessly through my router (Airport Express). The computer recognizes the printer wirelessly and has it as "ready." When I send something to print, it starts printing the first few lines and then just stops and won't print the rest. If I try again, nothing happens at all. I have to uninstall and reinstall the printer to get it to do anything. And even then, it won't print more than the first few lines of the document. Had no problems printing wirelessly with this printer and router on my old Dell that ran XP.

I updated the driver for the built in wireless card with out any results. I also tried a plug in wireless card which windows detected and said was working properly and this did not work either. This leaves me to believe that something is wrong with the OS. I can get on the internet via dialup modem and also by the ethernet connection with a DSL modem. I have been to several hotspots that I know have wifi and no networks show up. All critical windows updates have been installed.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have some Dell laptops (d830, d620, d630) that has problems with the wireless networkcard (Intel Wireless 4965 AGN). Very often it stops to function after the computer has been to sleep. The wireless icon still apears in the bottom right corner with a red cross over it. When you click it it says that it's connected with limited access. The wireless card will not apear when you run ipconfig If you disconnect it will not connect successfully again It seems like it manages to find all availble networks, but you can not connect successfully to any of them.
I have tried to install this fix reagardless that I already have SP1, but this won't install. Probley because it has already been applied. Also tried the Regedit workaround mentioned in the KB. I have set the power option to high preformance, but it still happends when the computer is manual set to sleep.
I am running Windows Vista and I have a cordless mouse which requires a little gadget into slot a USB port. My screensaver does not work when this little gadget is plugged in.

It has a button on it to adjust DPI, and there are three levels at which to set it. I always have it set to high, but it frequently resets to medium and isn't functional for a few seconds.

This evening my 3 year old Logitech wireless mouse just stopped working, abruptly, and I started getting repeated messages of an unknown USB device even with nothing attached. I tried the mouse on two other computers...it worked fine. I tried a system restore from yesterday with no results. I followed the advice offered on other threads to delete USB ports and reboot...no go. Still weird behavior. I noted that one person with a similar problem turned off notebook and removed and reinstalled battery...whalla! It works. The mouse now functions and no more strange messages. I have Vista Home Premium 64 bit on a Sony Vaio notebook.
