Microsoft has finally released an update for these users so that they can use screensavers once again in Windows Vista. Follow theses steps to get the update for your computer:

Do you know how to get rid of the annoying "wireless mouse battery level is critically low" popup? This is a ms wireless laser mouse 5000. It just started doing this about 6 weeks ago, before that it was fine. Did an update install new driver software or something? I just want to get rid of the popup, the mouse works okay.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a Dynex wireless optical mouse for my laptop running vista. after installing the driver and software I can not get the mouse to work. When I physically move the mouse the light on the receiver blinks but the mouse does not move on the screen. I tried plugging the mouse into another system I have running xp and have zero problems. When I open device manager and look under universal serial bus controllers, the standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller says it does not have enough free resources.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Logitech G7 wireless mouse hooked up to my Vista 64 box, and recently it's been acting up. From time to time, the mouse seems to just reset. It has a button on it to adjust DPI, and there are three levels at which to set it. I always have it set to high, but it frequently resets to medium and isn't functional for a few seconds.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI note that a common subject here is the problem of USB wireless mice not being recognized by computers. For what it's worth the following is my experience. This evening my 3 year old Logitech wireless mouse just stopped working, abruptly, and I started getting repeated messages of an unknown USB device even with nothing attached. I tried the mouse on two other computers...it worked fine. I tried a system restore from yesterday with no results. I followed the advice offered on other threads to delete USB ports and reboot...no go. Still weird behavior. I noted that one person with a similar problem turned off notebook and removed and reinstalled battery...whalla! It works. The mouse now functions and no more strange messages. I have Vista Home Premium 64 bit on a Sony Vaio notebook.

I was using it when playing LoL (League of Legends), and just went to restroom and when I came back, it's not working anymore. I have thought that maybe it's just the batteries, and I've change it but still not working. I convinced myself that maybe it just died. I bought today a MS Wireless Mobile Mouse 3000, to my surprise it doesn't work. I've checked all my drivers and they we're up to date.

I do a lot of Photoshop and my hand is killing me, so I tried to install my old Logitec (comfortable) mouse. No go..I downloaded the newest Vista 64 bit drivers for both. The Microsoft keyboard has a stick-type USB. The Logitec mouse has a little USB thingie that sits on the desk. The thing is, when I got this new computer (with Vista) they both worked together fine..until I installed a new video card. Now they won't play nice together at all. I am running Vista Home Premium x64 with a Microsoft wireless mouse and keyboard combo. Back in Feb 2008 I downloaded the optional "HID Non-user Input data filter" update and installed it. This fixed my screensaver not working issue. Then, 4 days ago my screensaver stopped working again. In my system I see that the update is still installed. The only thing that changed is I upgraded my Norton Antivirus 2008 to 2009, and installed one of the standard "Automatic Updates" for Microsoft Windows. Does anyone have any clue as to why or how to fix it again?
View 5 Replies View RelatedThis question has been asked by many people, but somehow no solutions have been offered. It's about the screensaver not working anymore. My os is home premium 32 bit. I checked the Preview which is working, I checked the settings which is 5 min., and I checked the power settings which is 15 min.on battery and 30 min. on plug-in. I have it on Performance Setting. My laptop is 4 months old. I have over 65 GB left on C: and 5.6 GB left on my D: drive.

View 9 Replies View RelatedGot a totally different screensaver problem than found by searching the forum.
I got my screensaver to engage after 15 minutes without any mouse movement.
The thing is, if I am watching a movie, the screensaver will start after the 15 minutes into the movie. Even if I leave a game in the pause mode to get something like food, the screensaver will engage after the 15 minutes. No matter what screensave I use, it still happens.
Why is this happening?
I'm using Vista Ultimate x64 SP1
I have a Dell Inspiron running Vista. Had no problems until recently when the screensaver started to refuse to work. Even when I go to screen saver settings and select preview the screensaver just comes on for less than a second and goes off again.
I have got a wireless mouse but have always used it, I have tried unplugging it, but to no avail. I have also tried a selective startup with only microsoft programs on startup, but still no joy.
I accidentally deleted some .scr files from the system32 folder and now i can't install any screen savers nor use the ones i didn't delete. (it just shows "none" on the change screens saver menu). I remember deleting a small (5kb or so) .scr file which i assume caused the problem.
