I just purchased a Wireless Mobile Laser Mouse 6000 thinking it would be compatabile with Vista 64. After the computer sleeps or hibernates the scroll wheel slows down to a very slow crawl. I have to disconnect the nano receiver wait about 2 minutes and then reconnect.
View 4 RepliesEvery time you use the scroll wheel on your mouse you scroll 4 lines at a time in Windows Vista. This is adequate for most users but did you know that it is possible to tweak this setting to make your scroll wheel more or less sensitive? It is possible with a quick little reg hack.
Click on the Start Button and key in regedit and hit Enter....
Whenever I am playing some kind of music in the background, and I go to scroll up and down a page, the music gets muffled or degraded and slows down. This only happens when i Scroll on a page. Moving Graphics tend to slow down too when I scroll.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Microsoft optical mouse. It's a couple of years old and I'm trying to determine whether it's faulty or not. The problem seems to be with the scroll wheel. When on a webpage and using the wheel to scroll, often the page will continue to scroll (only another 50 or so pixels) after I've released the mouse. It seems to be at least a full second or two after I've finished scrolling, let go of the mouse then the page continues to scroll (only by one increment/decrement). It doesn't seem to be the wheel clicking into place either, as I first thought. I'm trying to find out if anyone else has experienced this and/or whether it could be a registry setting or something else causing this. Otherwise, it's a hardware issue.

When I physically move the mouse the light on the receiver blinks but the mouse does not move on the screen. I tried plugging the mouse into another system I have running xp and have zero problems. When I open device manager and look under universal serial bus controllers, the standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller says it does not have enough free resources.

It has a button on it to adjust DPI, and there are three levels at which to set it. I always have it set to high, but it frequently resets to medium and isn't functional for a few seconds.

This evening my 3 year old Logitech wireless mouse just stopped working, abruptly, and I started getting repeated messages of an unknown USB device even with nothing attached. I tried the mouse on two other computers...it worked fine. I tried a system restore from yesterday with no results. I followed the advice offered on other threads to delete USB ports and reboot...no go. Still weird behavior. I noted that one person with a similar problem turned off notebook and removed and reinstalled battery...whalla! It works. The mouse now functions and no more strange messages. I have Vista Home Premium 64 bit on a Sony Vaio notebook.

I do a lot of Photoshop and my hand is killing me, so I tried to install my old Logitec (comfortable) mouse. No go..I downloaded the newest Vista 64 bit drivers for both. The Microsoft keyboard has a stick-type USB. The Logitec mouse has a little USB thingie that sits on the desk. Only one of them will work at a time.I've tried every configuration I can think of and can't get them both to work at the same time. View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a Wireless Laser Mouse 5000 and I'm having trouble getting the wheel scrolling tuned just right. I'd like to have a small scroll amount when I move the wheel slowly (to get really good precision) but then go really fast (screens at a time) when I "flick" the wheel to roll it quickly. The Intellipoint 6.2 software doesn't give me enough of a difference between slow scroll and accelerated fast scrolling. In fact, I don't see much of a difference, if any. I have the vertical scrolling speed almost set all the way to the left (slow). I have Enable accelerated scrolling checked, and under advanced, I have the slow/fast slider all the way to the right (fast). Seems as if this should be VERY exagerated--the dif between slow and accelerated should be VERY obvious.I searched the regsitry for any hint of settings. Nothing interesting or obvious under HKLMSoftwareMicrosoftIntellipoint, HKCUControl PanelMouse. Under HCKUControl PanelDesktop I can see WheelScrollLines but this seems to be the slow scroll rate.
It is at 2 and it changes when I change the slow/fast slider under the Mouse control panel vertical scrolling speed (nothing to do with acceleration).I can't find any registry setting that changes when I change the Accelerated Scrolling slow/fast slider. I find this very odd. Can anyone shed light on this? Is the vertical scroll acceleration a per-app setting? Is it something to do with how many scroll wheel interrupts happen per second and have to be set in a HID or mouse driver somewhere? I've tried MANY Microsoft mice to see if it something peculiar with this particular mouse and I see the same symptom with the new Natural Laser mouse, the Wireless Intellimouse Explorer 2.0.

I have a Lenovo T-500 with Vista Buisness installed on it. a support call to IBM gave me the suggestion to install a new mouse driver- I did that, it happened again. the only way to be able to work again is to restart the system. i have scanned the computer using Anti-virus. loaded all the updates the system reomends, and am now ready to give up.
