I have a Logitech G7 wireless mouse hooked up to my Vista 64 box, and recently it's been acting up. From time to time, the mouse seems to just reset. It has a button on it to adjust DPI, and there are three levels at which to set it. I always have it set to high, but it frequently resets to medium and isn't functional for a few seconds.

I have forgotten the Username and Password for the Login ID... and it is not the default (Username: *blank* Password: admin). I have heard you can hold the reset button on the back of the wireless router but will this reset my wireless network? By that i mean... will i be able to connect with my laptop still through that wireless network or will i have to set it up again?

When I physically move the mouse the light on the receiver blinks but the mouse does not move on the screen. I tried plugging the mouse into another system I have running xp and have zero problems. When I open device manager and look under universal serial bus controllers, the standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller says it does not have enough free resources.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI note that a common subject here is the problem of USB wireless mice not being recognized by computers. For what it's worth the following is my experience. This evening my 3 year old Logitech wireless mouse just stopped working, abruptly, and I started getting repeated messages of an unknown USB device even with nothing attached. I tried the mouse on two other computers...it worked fine. I tried a system restore from yesterday with no results. I followed the advice offered on other threads to delete USB ports and reboot...no go. Still weird behavior. I noted that one person with a similar problem turned off notebook and removed and reinstalled battery...whalla! It works. The mouse now functions and no more strange messages. I have Vista Home Premium 64 bit on a Sony Vaio notebook.

I do a lot of Photoshop and my hand is killing me, so I tried to install my old Logitec (comfortable) mouse. No go..I downloaded the newest Vista 64 bit drivers for both. The Microsoft keyboard has a stick-type USB. The Logitec mouse has a little USB thingie that sits on the desk. Only one of them will work at a time.I've tried every configuration I can think of and can't get them both to work at the same time. a friend has a new sony vaio with vista home premium installed. For some reason it will not connect to my netgear router wirelessly. I have tried everything. I am however not too hot on Vista as this is my first time with it. The adaptor says its on, but when you interegate it and ask why it wont connect it keeps telling me "switch on wireless adaptor capability". In the network connections it is on, the switch on the front right is swiitched on and the wireless network light on the front is on. The network is fine and working as i have my laptop connected to it. All security is present and entered. It seems to be the computer as it doesnt find any networks when there are loads in the area. Am i missing something exceptionally obvious? Does Vista have another "on" switch for this adaptor?

Before I had a chance to get to it, some smart person managed to power it up and force a shutdown during the initial Vista installation run. Now I keep getting "Windows could not complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer, please restart the installation." I have tried Safe Mode and Repair (found no problems), and still get the same message. I heard there is a way to reset Vista to 'out of box' setting.

I can no longer play any form of sound file unless its directly from a CD or a .wav file. I only get a single popping sound as I try to load any WMA or MP3 file and it says "media changing" before it loads. But I can still play WMV files with sound and picture. I thought that a solution to this problem might be to reset the player, but there seems to be no way of doing that without a clean reinstall of Vista.

View 5 Replies View RelatedSo after several software hardware fails and reinstalls of vista iv bit the bullet and bought 7 now with the several installs from vista and 1 install from 7 that bsod on me I noted that there seems to be 1 stick of tame that if I take out the bsod stops anyway as a last effort to see if it is that 1 stick inparticular I have swithched banks to test befor I write it of as faulty, so far so good touch wood nothing. my question now is.... Is this just a myth or does it really work? Can ram really be cleaned and reset?
