Wireless Mouse Warning
Mar 27, 2009
Do you know how to get rid of the annoying "wireless mouse battery level is critically low" popup? This is a ms wireless laser mouse 5000. It just started doing this about 6 weeks ago, before that it was fine. Did an update install new driver software or something? I just want to get rid of the popup, the mouse works okay.

I recently purchased a Dynex wireless optical mouse for my laptop running vista. after installing the driver and software I can not get the mouse to work. When I physically move the mouse the light on the receiver blinks but the mouse does not move on the screen. I tried plugging the mouse into another system I have running xp and have zero problems. When I open device manager and look under universal serial bus controllers, the standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller says it does not have enough free resources.

I have a Logitech G7 wireless mouse hooked up to my Vista 64 box, and recently it's been acting up. From time to time, the mouse seems to just reset. It has a button on it to adjust DPI, and there are three levels at which to set it. I always have it set to high, but it frequently resets to medium and isn't functional for a few seconds.

I note that a common subject here is the problem of USB wireless mice not being recognized by computers. For what it's worth the following is my experience. This evening my 3 year old Logitech wireless mouse just stopped working, abruptly, and I started getting repeated messages of an unknown USB device even with nothing attached. I tried the mouse on two other computers...it worked fine. I tried a system restore from yesterday with no results. I followed the advice offered on other threads to delete USB ports and reboot...no go. Still weird behavior. I noted that one person with a similar problem turned off notebook and removed and reinstalled battery...whalla! It works. The mouse now functions and no more strange messages. I have Vista Home Premium 64 bit on a Sony Vaio notebook.

I installed the software & followed the installation instructions (I thought), but the wireless mouse & receiver (which the system reports is working normally) doesn't seem to do anything. The old mouse is still installed & connected & works. What should I do to get the new mouse working? Be gentle with me I'm not a computer wizard...

If I let my computer sit for roughly 1 hour or more the mouse stops working and I have to restart the computer via the keyboard. I've tried reconnecting from the transceiver and switching the mouse on/off and pressing the reset button. None of these things seem to do the trick.

Users that have the Microsoft Wireless Laser Keyboard 6000 and/or the Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 have been experiencing issues for the past few months with their screen saver failing to turn on as well as any power saving features. The problem was linked to the new 3.0 version receiver shipping with the new 6000 series mouse and keyboards and the media center components.Â
Microsoft has finally released an update for these users so that they can use screensavers once again in Windows Vista. Follow theses steps to get the update for your computer:
Click on the Start Button and type in Windows Update....

Two days ago my LogiTech USB Wireless mouse just suddenly stopped working. I was using it when playing LoL (League of Legends), and just went to restroom and when I came back, it's not working anymore. I have thought that maybe it's just the batteries, and I've change it but still not working. I convinced myself that maybe it just died. I bought today a MS Wireless Mobile Mouse 3000, to my surprise it doesn't work. I've checked all my drivers and they we're up to date.

On my Windows Vista Home Premium system am unable to install my MS Wireless Laser Mouse 5000 v.1.0. My MS Wireless Laser/Keyboard 6000 v.2.0 works fine. I receive a message from my system that Windows needs to install drivers for Microsoft Wireless Desktop Receiver 3.1. The instructions for the Receiver, Keyboard and Mouse, which came together as a package, makes reference to a Help screen, but I cannot find anything installed. I looked at KB940199, and attempted to install the named driver; but I received an error message that Windows encountered an error, 0X8007000d, the Data is invalid.

i recently got a new wireless Microsoft keyboard/Mouse combo. The mouse is too large for my hand. I do a lot of Photoshop and my hand is killing me, so I tried to install my old Logitec (comfortable) mouse. No go..I downloaded the newest Vista 64 bit drivers for both. The Microsoft keyboard has a stick-type USB. The Logitec mouse has a little USB thingie that sits on the desk. Only one of them will work at a time.I've tried every configuration I can think of and can't get them both to work at the same time. The thing is, when I got this new computer (with Vista) they both worked together fine..until I installed a new video card. Now they won't play nice together at all. The mouse hangs once in a while and akthough I have set it to be as precise as it can be..it

Maybe I could get an answer to my question that I should had asked when I was buying. This wireless mouse uses two "AA" batteries or rechargeable batteries. What about turning it off for the night or whenever I leave my computer? So that I don’t change them every two-three days.

I have an old Logitech but fully functional mouse (cordless optical).
When I ran Vista x86 Ultimate, I installed a small program that allowed me to double-click with middle mouse button. Now, with Vista x64 Ultimate, it doesn't work anymore.
Do someone know another small program to allow me that?

a friend has a new sony vaio with vista home premium installed. For some reason it will not connect to my netgear router wirelessly. I have tried everything. I am however not too hot on Vista as this is my first time with it. The adaptor says its on, but when you interegate it and ask why it wont connect it keeps telling me "switch on wireless adaptor capability". In the network connections it is on, the switch on the front right is swiitched on and the wireless network light on the front is on. The network is fine and working as i have my laptop connected to it. All security is present and entered. It seems to be the computer as it doesnt find any networks when there are loads in the area. Am i missing something exceptionally obvious? Does Vista have another "on" switch for this adaptor?

Vista Ultimate with all the latest service packs and updates install, then installed IE8 RC1.
Installed Internet Explorer 8 Release Candidate 1 and had the following
problems.
(1) Windows would not restart.
(2) required going through Safe Mode startup to get Windows to finish installation.
(3) after rebooting several times, finally got it going.
(4) Aero was turned off after all of this.
Not sure if it was a remnant of Safe Mode or from IE8 RC1.
Note: If you have to reboot, then turn off the PC. Unplug the PC or turn the power switch off on the back of the PC on the power supply. Sometimes just using the buttons on the front of the PC does not remove all power and thus all facilities.
I have seen this many times; demanding a complete power removal before the PC would restart properly.

They have done it again. Microsoft geeks take a perfectly goodproduct Internet Explorer 7 and mess it up. They just can't keeptheir dirty little paws off that source code, can they? The URL dropdown now gives you an assortment of locations on your hard drive, something like Windows Explorer.
