My Lexmark X2450 has been working on my Vista PC since May'07. Sometime in the last few weeks something has changed and initially it seemed that it wouldn't print anything. Lots of experimentation and uninstalls later, I've come to the conclusion that the printer is O.k. as it will print test pages and IE web pages, but I can't get it to print anything else, (Word docs etc. These show as spooling, printing then deleting in the print queue. Note: Last night, I gave up trying at 2am turned the printer and PC off and turned it off at the wall - the next morning my son turned on the PC and some of the print attempts from last night printed!
Just installed Vista SP2. Everything seems to work OK except for my Dell 1720 printer. It now prints an extra page before the actual document to be printed. There are just a few spurious characters printed at the top of this unwanted page. The following "proper" pages are OK. I have, so it seems, the lastest driver available.
I am having issues with Excel - when I create a spreadsheet, it prints fine on any computer running Vista, but when I send the file to anyone not using Vista, the margins are incorrect and the document prints on 6 pages instead of one - no matter how I have it formatted.
Just discovered a new problem after installing SP1. I have a Canon i9950 inkjet printer. It's an A3 photo printer and has produced superb prints since I got my new PC with Vista 64 HP about 6 months ago. I went to make some prints yesterday and have wasted about 10 sheets of expensive photo paper. All my pics came out predominantly pink, very pink. Every time I switch the printer on Vista recognizes it as new hardware, searches for a driver and installs it. I don't seem able to get round this. I have about 5 different software apps to print from and tried them all-Photoshop, Lightroom, Canon DPP etc. All produce pink pics. Some, like Picasa report printer offline and won't print at all.
I have a HP4650 that is connected to a PC running Windows XP-SP3. I am printing from a laptop running Windows Vista Business 64. I am using the "HP PCL5 Universal Print Driver" (I have the same results if I use the "HP PCL6 Universal Print Driver"). These are the drivers for Vista 64 from HP's website. The printer is connected to the Vista laptop as a local printer, using a local port similar to '\officedellHP4650'(file://\officedellHP4650). (If I don't use the local port approach, printing is extremely slow... 3+ minutes to display the printer's Properties dialog)
When I print from any program on the Vista laptop, even the Test Page from Properties, the printing is in black and white (no color). When I print from the computer that is connected directly to the printer, or from any other computer on the network, the printout is in color. Note that the color option **is** enabled in the printer's Properties on the Vista computer. I have unloaded and reloaded the drivers repeatedly.
I bought a Lexmark 3400 series all in one printer. I have been using in with my desk top computer with Mcro. Offive and it has worked great. I recently purchased a lap-top with Vista. We loaded the printer program on to the lap-top and made it the default. When we go to print we get the message that the computer can not communicate with the printer.
I have a Lexmark Printer which worked with Windows 98. Now it won't work with my new Emachines computer with Windows Vista Home Premium. I have downloaded the recommended updates, but all I seem to get is the documents put in the queue, but does not send to the printer to begin printing.
I have a Lexmark Optra R laser printer that I bought in 1996! But it works great and will outlast anything you can buy today. When I got my new computer with Vista I found I couldn't install it. The driver seems to be available, but the computer just doesn't recognize the printer.
Has anyone successfully installed Lexmark X 4500 printer on 32bit Vista Ulimate? I have been at it for a few days also with tech support and so far no luck. I had downloaded the vista driver software from the Lexmark web site *cjb3500-4500en.exe* - it installs the software but cant find the vista driver. I have tried a clean uninstall, reinstalling the drivers, installing the drivers manually with add printers, and nothing has worked!!! also restored the vista to a before point and reinstalled still no use.
I keep getting the following error when I try to print. Job Status Window Interface has stopped Working. I called Lexmark and they said it was a windows problem. Has anybody had this problem? Is there a fix for it?
I have a Dell AIO photo 926 printer. It almost always spits out a blank page or page with just a couple of lines printed on first printing try. I have uninstalled, downloaded proper drivers and reinstalled. This helps for a little while then printer reverts to old maddening ways. How can I fix this?

My Vista home laptop used to print to my XP server but no longer does. This started about a week ago after I changed the router. I tried reinstalling the printer however it still doesn't print. I'm able to open the properties and make changes there however I get an error when I try and print. My other XP laptops print.
I downloaded and installed the vist drivers for lexmark x2530 its all good but when I try to fax it says send failed with no what sounds like modem connect. Tried other software like Faxmachine and able to fax with no problems. Where could my problem be.
I have spent so much time on this already. I had Lexmark all-in-one X5260 and an old Epson printer installed on my Vista Business Sony Vaio laptop without problem since early 2008. Yesterday I removed the old Epson, with problems, as it had a test print still in the spooler. Since then I have had ???Spooler SubSystem App??? problems and been unable to re-install or print from the Lexmark. I did System Restore back to the day before I removed the Epson printer. I carefully removed the Epson printer. Still no printing with Lexmark. I have followed the recommendations of many of the posts here, especially ???Spooler SubSystem App??? with Alan Morris and Eddie. I uninstalled Lexmark. I followed the procedure recommended in and presumed I deleted the drivers and spoolers.
However I was unable to do the ???net stop spooler??? and ???net stop spooler???. I got the response ???System error 5 has occurred. Access is denied???. In Command Prompt I was not at the root directory, I was at C:UsersVaio. (Vaio is my user name.) I am the only user of this laptop and my printer is plugged into a USB port, not networked. I then tried to install from the Lexmark 5200 Series CD. Before getting to the ???detecting your printer??? phase, I got the Spooler SubSystem App closed error message. Lexmark 5200 now appears in my printers but a test page print or doc print does not work.
I have a senior friend with a Lexmark 8350 AIO (Vista drivers available)installed via USB on a XP home laptop. The XP laptop sees the internet via an ethernet connection to a Belkin wireless router. The XP Lexmark XP Driver software was installed and the printer worked fine. He shared the printer in XP. He hs another laptop loaded with Vista Home Premium that he has connected wirelessly via the Belkin router. Both computers are on the same workgroup. He can see folders and files files of each computer on the other computer. When he tried to set up Lexmark as a network printer in the Vista laptop, he sees the share name but the print wizard fails with a code 0x0000000d. Based upon comments located here
I'm running Vista Home Premium SP2 with 2 GB of RAM, all WU's, Firefox, MBAM, SuperAntiSpywareProfessional, CCleaner, Spybot, CA Security Suite, and WLM. The machine's running just great but after the last restart (to complete the uninstall of Ad-Aware) my little Lexmark All-In-One printer icon is missing from the notification area. It's usually placed right next to my network icon. I've tried restarting the service (an app called `lxcz_device') using `services.msc' but to no avail. The printer works just fine. how to get that icon back again without doing another restart?
I recently bought a new laptop with Vista pre-installed. I installed the Lexmark x4850 (which worked under XP)on the new HP laptop. Whenever I try to print something, the Windows Interactive message comes up as follows: Program: C:windowssystem32spoolsv.exe Module: C:windowssystem32spooldriversw32x863lxdedatr.dll Run Time Check failure: 3 "siNUMBEROFTOPICS" used but not defined I select debug retry and get another message: Assertion Failed File: Dmrclibrary.cpp Line: 415 M_hlibmodule I select debug retry and get the first message again. I have looked at all of my usb's in device manager but it reports no problems. I don't know whether it is a Lexmark problem or Vista or both.
I am using Vista ultimate with a new Canon LBP2900I laser printer. If I print with the windows firewall turned on it takes an age ti get a print out, if I turn off the firewall it prints stright away. All the drivers are up to date. In the firewall exceptions the printer is listed and ticked
I'm running a dell dual core with 2 gb of memory and a 200 gig hard drive, with Mozilla Firefox. In the past I have been able to peruse perhaps 15-20 web pages, reduced in size and it hasn't slowed down at all. All of a sudden after four or five windows accrue the computer comes to nearly a stop and it takes forever to load that last page. I have to wait a long time before I can even close the windows.
I have cleared all the temp files and cache, removed cookies and cleaned everything up.
I have a new machine with Vista Home Premium. I find when browsing in IE8 it works fine for a while then it just can't seem to load any pages even my home page. No message, just a blank screen and the green bar across the bottom sitting there about half way across and doesn't go any further as if it can't load the page. I have cleaners I have tried but the only thing that works is to restart my machine.
I can open google, search with google, but IE does not open any of the links! I tried to load firefox or chrome, but IE won't open the pages! Also, I can't update Windows. I tried to check for problems in connection, result was no problems found. Obviously I'm connected, because google works fine. Nothing else (virus, Win updates) does.
I have been having to use the Task Manager to shut down Internet Explorer due to the pages freezing up. When I open task manger it indicates that the page is not responding. This happened approximately 30 times today alone. I have no idea what is causing this problem so I don't have a clue as to what to do to fix it. I finely got so frustrated I just gave up and shut my system down.I'm running the VISTA operating system and, as stated above.
ok i have vista home, i have tried i think everything, i cant get the web pages to print all i get is codes. i cant even print this page out! i am about to throw this dumb thing out the window! and regret ever buying a hp with vista.
When I send attachments through Windows Mail they can't be opened in the program they were created in eg Word. I can click on "open as a web page" to open them, but then I can't print them as a whole document, only the part of the page on the screen. Is there some way I can just send them as ordinary attachments without the web page proviso or should I go back to Outlook?
I suddenly find I am unable to print web pages in IE7. I am using Windows Vista Home Premium. It shows the item in print preview but when print is selected nothing happens other than the printer icon shows briefly before disappearing followed by nothing. The printer details state there are no documents pending. I can print from all other programmes such as Word,Excel etc so I know the fault is not with the printer.
I know two folks that just got new computers with Vista. They both seem to be having the same problem with IE 7 or 8 refusing to load pages after surfing for a period of time. They both say a reboot is necessary to restore IE to usability. I have not found a definite answer on the net, so does anyone know if this is a common problem in Vista and how to fix it?
