View 5 RepliesIs it just me, or does IE8 have more bugs than a low rent apartment?! This is nuts! Links on web pages don't work, screen flashes back and forth to solid black when I move my mouse. What a nightmare! I found it listed in the 'Updates' area, and was able to remove it. I didn't know Microsoft was capable of releasing junk like this...
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm running a dell dual core with 2 gb of memory and a 200 gig hard drive, with Mozilla Firefox. In the past I have been able to peruse perhaps 15-20 web pages, reduced in size and it hasn't slowed down at all. All of a sudden after four or five windows accrue the computer comes to nearly a stop and it takes forever to load that last page. I have to wait a long time before I can even close the windows.
I have cleared all the temp files and cache, removed cookies and cleaned everything up.
I have a new machine with Vista Home Premium. I find when browsing in IE8 it works fine for a while then it just can't seem to load any pages even my home page. No message, just a blank screen and the green bar across the bottom sitting there about half way across and doesn't go any further as if it can't load the page. I have cleaners I have tried but the only thing that works is to restart my machine.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI can open google, search with google, but IE does not open any of the links! I tried to load firefox or chrome, but IE won't open the pages! Also, I can't update Windows. I tried to check for problems in connection, result was no problems found. Obviously I'm connected, because google works fine. Nothing else (virus, Win updates) does.

When I open task manger it indicates that the page is not responding. This happened approximately 30 times today alone. I have no idea what is causing this problem so I don't have a clue as to what to do to fix it. I finely got so frustrated I just gave up and shut my system down.I'm running the VISTA operating system and, as stated above.

I can click on "open as a web page" to open them, but then I can't print them as a whole document, only the part of the page on the screen. Is there some way I can just send them as ordinary attachments without the web page proviso or should I go back to Outlook?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI suddenly find I am unable to print web pages in IE7. I am using Windows Vista Home Premium. It shows the item in print preview but when print is selected nothing happens other than the printer icon shows briefly before disappearing followed by nothing. The printer details state there are no documents pending. I can print from all other programmes such as Word,Excel etc so I know the fault is not with the printer.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI know two folks that just got new computers with Vista. They both seem to be having the same problem with IE 7 or 8 refusing to load pages after surfing for a period of time. They both say a reboot is necessary to restore IE to usability. I have not found a definite answer on the net, so does anyone know if this is a common problem in Vista and how to fix it?

Each time for instance I go to Bank of America I have to put in all my login info again. Same with TV guide.will not remember my zip code, although it's supposed to. Is there some sort of setting I should have checked or something? It's really getting annoying to have to put in the same info time after time.

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy Lexmark X2450 has been working on my Vista PC since May'07. Sometime in the last few weeks something has changed and initially it seemed that it wouldn't print anything. Lots of experimentation and uninstalls later, I've come to the conclusion that the printer is O.k. as it will print test pages and IE web pages, but I can't get it to print anything else, (Word docs etc. These show as spooling, printing then deleting in the print queue. Note: Last night, I gave up trying at 2am turned the printer and PC off and turned it off at the wall - the next morning my son turned on the PC and some of the print attempts from last night printed!
View 6 Replies View RelatedThe other day gmail started complaining that my cache was full so I cleared it and increased the size to 1024MB. This did not stop the error so I looked a little deeper and the issue appears to be that IE7 is not caching anything at all - at least, the "Temporary Internet Files" folder is empty.
This leads me to consider a permissions problem, more so as I have moved the Temp Internet folder to another partition. I have set the permissions on the drive and parent folder to give "everyone" full control. This has not resolved the problem. Some files have appeared which I think have come from Windows Media Player but websites are not showing up, not even cookies. rss.xml files have also shown up after a reboot from sidebar news gadget (even though it's not running?!).....
Is it possible that Vista updates are causing my web browsing and other network functions to fail frequently. My problem is that I often cannot access any of my web browsers home pages. My PS3 occasionally disconnects from Tversity, claiming a DNS error. I have had this problem using both wired, and wireless connection to router........
View 6 Replies View RelatedNone of my shorcuts ANYWHERE are working. Okay, like three of them are. The stuff is all still there...programs, music...etc. I just can't access it. Example. I click on an .Mp3 and it says : This file does not have a program associated with it for preforming this action. create an association in the Set Associations control panel.
But yet somehow I'm able to open my browser because theres a link, that by some miracle still works. All of my taskbar icons work... but none of the quick launch, Desktop, Start menu etc. I try and go into program files...I can see the pictures there for the icons...I click them and still nothing happens. I tried to re-install one and it doesn't work...No new shortcuts work either...
I've scanned with AVG, SpyBot, and MalwareBytes. I believe my problem is a toolbar that I accidentally downloaded along with a program. the toolbar is MyWebSearch. I can't uninstall it. it'll say it uninstalls it. but then it's still there. I've also tried deleting the icon cache...but my icon cache isn't there...
I had my IE7 configured to open several pages (tabs) when it starts up and everything was working fine until this morning, when IE8 keeps crashing repeatedly. This is the detail of the error reported by IE:

I am posting it to the Vista newsgroup since I suspect this is a Vista problem rather than an IE problem; let me know if that is not the case.
I am using vista home premium 64bit. All updated, and wireless HP mouse battery is brand new and shows 100% remaining. When I am on a webpage and want to open something, I used to be able to double click on the left side of the mouse and it would open, all of a sudden this am, it doesn't work I have to click on the right side, then click on open.... to open anything, I am not sure where else to look, I checked the control panel but didn't find anything unusual under mouse.

1. Installing Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer (944533) stops IE7 (in Windows Vista x64 Ultimate) from showing web pages. Uninstalling the Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer (944533) resumes IE7 showing web pages.
2. Any version of Agent mail.ru (messenger, e-mail notifier, cannot connect in the Windows Vista x64 Ultimate. I checked everything the Agent mail.ru support suggested.
i really don't know if it is from my Vista or IE7!! when i browse and try to go back one page my browser always jump two or three pages every click on the back arrow?? i tried many things and searched in MS and IE pages and did't find an answer!

View 4 Replies View RelatedYesterday when I turned on my Dell Laptop (Inspiron 1521, 2 yrs. old), there was a vertical, red, laser-like stripe on my screen. When I got to my desktop and subsequent web pages, certain white areas (like the one on which I'm currently writing) are awash in a turquoise color. Letters are outlined in white. A comprehensive Norton 360 scan showed or fixed nothing. Not sure if it's related, but last weekend, I popped my keyboard, and other "doors" on the computer bottom, and blew out the dust with aerosol air. Was careful, however, not to touch anything! I'm only a casual user, no games, vids, etc. Mostly shopping, banking, & email .

For instance if I minimize web page 1, I will get a button. but when I go to web page 2 and minimize it the button replaces the button for web page 1. The buttons are not stacked. Shouldn't I get a task bar button for each web page that is minimized so that I can retrieve particular pages as desired? The taskbar button feature seems to work when opening multiple programs as described in Vista Support, but it does not seem to function with multiple windows.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've got a scrolling issue. I have a Toshiba A215-S6804 laptop with Vista Home Premium SP1, IE7 and OpenOffice. I had installed a Dynex optical wireless notebook mouse and found that I could only vertically scroll in IE7. I assumed it was a driver issue because Dynex don't market this mouse specifically for Vista. So I bought a Logitech V320 wireless optical mouse and installed that yesterday. This one is supposed to scroll vertically and horizontally.
Well, in IE7 I have no problems scrolling (both ways), but in any other program I can not get it to scroll. I've tried OpenOffice document, WordPad, and even the help file from Logitech too - nothing will vertically scroll! I'm lost. I have downloaded the most recent software from Logitech with no luck. I have got to assume it's a Vista issue. Is anyone else having this problem?
