Can Not Browse : Jump Two Or Three Pages Every Click On The Back Arrow
Jun 30, 2008
i really don't know if it is from my Vista or IE7!! when i browse and try to go back one page my browser always jump two or three pages every click on the back arrow?? i tried many things and searched in MS and IE pages and did't find an answer!
Is it just me, or does IE8 have more bugs than a low rent apartment?! This is nuts! Links on web pages don't work, screen flashes back and forth to solid black when I move my mouse. What a nightmare! I found it listed in the 'Updates' area, and was able to remove it. I didn't know Microsoft was capable of releasing junk like this...
Why do I have to click twice (instead of once) to go back one page in IE8. I looked for a setting but I can't find one. I always before only had to click the back arrow once and it would go back to the previous page.
Windows home premium. I had to reload windows from a manufacturers recovery drive. this was due to hard drive problem. Since I have reloaded, in windows explorer, I don't get the same right click menu when I want to move or copy files. Used to be a "move to" or "Copy to" routine which greatly helped when moving files into a catalog format. Now I only get the standard cut, copy and paste commands. Does anyone know how to get the "move to" right click menus back?
I was fiddling with an application that logs you on by using face recognition but i decided to remove it as i just wanted to play with it. Now my log on screen makes me click my name before i can enter my password. how can i get it back so i dont have to click my name?
I'm soon purchasing an HP NC8430 business laptop that comes standard w/ Windows XP.I have a legal copy of Windows Vista Ultimate both 32 bit and 64 bit.I plan to upgrade the RAM in the laptop to 4GB and install a 7200 rpm HD.I have checked HP's support site for this laptop and they appear to have all of the drivers for Vista 64 bit.I do not use any esoteric hardware so other drivers are not an issue.I use recent commercially available software for the most part (or open source). So my question is, is there any reason I should not install Vista 64 bit?I plan to run a virtual XP box on the laptop for anything that will absolutely not run on Vista.
I have a microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse which work really well but when I reboot, the keyboard shortcuts that I have programmed don't work until I go into properties and click on them and then click ok. The keys then work ok until I reboot again. Is there any way that I can programme the changes so they are the default programmes whenever I reboot. The software loaded fine and I clicked on apply and save when I originally set the keys.....I have a HP Pavilion DV6700 Laptop with windows visa home premium which is about one month old.
It seems that I'm not the only one who had the Windows Sidebar no longer working after installing the new release of Internet Explorer. After spending a lot of time trying to find a solution, here is the way I have solve the problem. Now the sidebar is just working fine. This behavior is observed if the XML registration is missing in the system. To fix the problem, use the following steps:
* Close Windows Sidebar. To do so, right-click on the Sidebar icon in the Notification area and click Exit
* Open an elevated Command Prompt window. To do so, click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator.
* In the Command Prompt window, type the following and press ENTER:
i can be typing along and all of a sudden a new window pops up or my cursor jumps to another spot in the page. Basically it jumps to wherever I have left the cursor.
Arrived today, installed with no problems, patched with no problems and runs great On max settings it even makes my system jump a little when moving around the map!
Cruzer jump drive does not work with Vista but does work on my other comptuer with XP. It did work until recently but now the system wants to format the drive instead of allowing me to drag and drop files. The multimedia drive also quit working.
Using Vista Premium on a Toshiba A205 -S4607. Have been unable to find an email for tech support from Toshiba. Will not buy another computer from them!
Can anyone provide a fix. Have tried using and earlier restore point along with deleting the UBS drivers under System - devices but to no avail. Mouse, printer, keyboard, and Matrox external disk drive are all recognized.
When I plug in my network cable into one computer, it brings down the network, ping times jump from 97ms to 1200ms? Any thoughts? There was a trogan found but it was supposed to have been cleaned. I have AVG Free on this PC, and every time you plug in this network cable to this pc the is a trogan caught. The same one over and over. And it says it is deleted. I even found it in the regestry and dleted it.
I have a train collection and have a program called TrainTracker that I use to keep track of the pieces in my collection. I have the program on my home PC, which runs Widows XP, but when I bought my laptop about a year ago with Windows Vista Home Premium, I copied the program from my PC (Windws XP) onto a jump drive and pasted it onto my laptop (Vista). Everything was going according to plan.
Now I take my laptop where my trains are and I add a bunch of pieces and I want to copy the file from my laptop (Windows Vista) onto a jump drive, so I can then paste it onto my PC (Windows XP) and have the updated TrainTracker, with all the additions I've made. Well, when I copy it from Vista onto a jumpdrive, all it will copy is the original program which I transferred from my PC onto my laptop. It won't copy the new items I've added onto the program.
As I am working on the computer (Sony VAIO Laptop)(Windows Vista Home Edition), I hit the arrow key several times. Doesn't really matter which one, the result is the same. Just for argument sake, lets say I hit the left arrow key several times. The computer will act as if the key is stuck, and will scroll to the left. Using the up and down arrow keys, I can go up or down with out a problem. When I hit the right arrow button, I don't go to the right. The only way I can "unstick" the left arrow button is to hit again.
This issue happens with all the arrow keys, so I figure that perhaps it is a preference somewhere in Vista. I thought it might be the stickys, but I checked and they are off.
Somehow I don't know what I did but now I'm missing this: Click the arrow next to the Lock button to access the Shut Down option When I want to choose how to shut down the computer, this arrow is gone. how to get the arrow back
I have a problem with the arrow next to the lock button. Half of it is missing. The only thing i have found was a reg hack to remove the lock button to allow more room for the arrow. The reg change did not work and messed up my mouse and keyboard along with no sound from media player. A system restore fixed everything. Has anyone had this problem with the arrow? See attachment.
I can't use my touchpad. My arrow/cursor is frozen in the middle of the screen.
1) I can still use external mouse
2) I saw in similar post somebody suggested using memory tool scan from microsoft. I did find that but when I clicked on it the owner was not microsoft but some other name. I am tired of downloding stuff on my computer and find out later that they are spyware etc..
3) I purchased Norton 360 which does not help
4) I ran system restore, did not help. First when I ran system restore it gave me error message "unspecified error during system restore" I ran it in safemode and now I could restore. Then I had to do the updates again. Rebooted toshiba laptop agai and the cursor still frozen
I am so annoyed at the current way left/right arrow keys work in folders. When I have one open and want to browse through it moving from file to file using the left arrow, I have to press the down arrow at each row end instead of the left arrow just moving to the next line. Is there anything I can do to change that?
I have never had this problem with Windows XP. I have had this same problem with several vendors computers, so I don't think it is hardware. It only happens with Vista. When typing text, the cursor will erratically jump to the beginning of the line, a different place in the same line or a spot in some previous line of text. If I am not watching what I am typing, my text is messed up. It happens in Word, when typing an email message or different software packages that I have so I don't think it is the software product; it must be Vista.
When I try to boot my Vista laptop, it boots fine until after the green scrolling bar completes. Then, it goes to a black screen, then a darker shade, then a lighter shade of black. Then, an arrow appears. Nothing happens afterward. The screensaver will come on after a while. System restore doesn't fix it. What could I do or what could be the cause?
As many of you have noticed, microsoft has bigger icons in Vista, but they also made the shortcut arrows bigger. This is a little tool that I found that is easy to use and works with both x86 and x64 builds.
when I try to start up my computer (hp - with vista), it goes straight to a black screen with a white arrow curser (which I can move around). The screen saver will come on after a few minutes, but when I touch a key, I get back to the same blank screen. Alt-Ctrl-Del does nothing. I have tried rebooting in safe mode, and I still end up with the blank screen. I do not have have the Windows CD (pre-installed when I bought it), and my CD drive is not working anyways (been broken for a few weeks).
I don't have an arrow to the right of the padlock - the one that calls up the pop up menu for shutting down, restarting, etc. It was never there from the time I got the computer (installed at the HP factory). I can still access the menu if I carefully click on the border after the padlock, but shouldn't I have the arrow?
I am having a small problem with my web browsers. Every time I wan´t to go online, the LAN is conected (even messenger etc.. works) but NONE of my explorers (Mozilla, Internet Explorer, Safari) seem to log into any sites.
I received a DVD with 1 xml file and several cgm files. How do I manage to display the content of the xml instead of the xml-code? I'm running under Vista with IE8.
I have vista business x64 and I have a problem with internet access: I use a wireless router, but my computer, which has the problem, is connected to the router through cable Since last week, every time I boot my computer I cant browse the internet (too slow) but I can ping I cant even access the router page at 192.168.0.1 (local network). And my notebook (with windows xp) can browse internet normally through the wireless connection. I've already searched at internet, and I found the option to reset the winsock using: "netsh winsock reset". When I restart the computer after reseting the winsock, everything works great The problem is the next day I have to reset the winsock again... and this is really boring.
