I have 2 computers, one has Outook (xp) and one has Windows mail (vista) both set up for the same email address. When I receive an email on Windows and open it, it doesn't appear on the Outlook computer. Anything received on Outlook always comes through on Windows.
How can I get my email to always appear on both computers?
Also, the Windows Vista computer will only receive email, I get an error message when I try to send:

View 4 Replies View RelatedThis has to be the most confusing and difficult set up I've seen.
In VERY simple terms, how do you set up the blasted "server address" in order to send mail? I received all the spam they sent me just fine, but when I try to send mail, I get nothing but error messages about the POP server address.
I looked in these threads, and every answer seems to be using words and terms you need years of computer training to understand. I don't have that training, I'm merely an intelligent person trying to set up my email account.
So how do you enter or correct this stupid business about POP3 servers and so on?
I got the information from my ISP, they gave me two lines,
outgoing mail, (SMTP):SMTP.comcast.net
incoming mail, (POP3):mail.comcast.net
I tried to enter this stuff in the fields, but it still won't work, this whole setup process is VERY complicated and impossible for me to follow.
So can somebody pleae tell me, in simple plain english, what is the exact procedure you use to type in the server addresses for incoming and outgoing mail?
I am getting the following message when sending an email to two different recipients, this has never happened before or with anyone else.
Reason: Remote SMTP server has rejected address Diagnostic code: smtp;550 Blocked
Been trying for hours to use Xbox 360 to access music and other files on my compuer, using both Drive address and network address. ALL files can be seen successfully on WMC on the Vista computer but nothing on the Xbox 360 -- except some photos on my son's XP machine (that worked easily).Could really use a simple solution to this please!
View 5 Replies View Relatedin Window XP, i used to be able to select full address to be displayed in the address bar. But for Window Vista, I could not find the way to do it. e.g. instead of showing D:Document, i want to show \sapsgsmapsnap01document. I want to send the link to my colleague to access directly to destination folder.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhenever i create a new email by click "To" to open up my address book for selecting any email address, or when i use "reply all" and want to add in some more email address from the address book, the computer start to run and till it stuck, so the only choice for me is to end this task and type email address instead of selecting email address from address book.
i thought that this is because i got too many email address, thus i deleted most of it and now only got 700 email address inside my address book, i just can not understand that when outlook express can take more than 3000 email address book, but windows mail can not take about 700 email address book. And somemore, this email address book is just useless for me, because whenever i want to use the address book, the windows mail is going to hang... and the only choice is to go to task manager, end this task and restart my windows mail.
Need directions to remove a former friend's email address from my address bar. Whenever I create a message to someone with an address starting with the same first letter, his email address also shows up.

Hopefully, someone in here has some ideas or a solution. Iron Man installed fine, but when we go to launch it, we get the same error box popping up, saying:
"Cannot locate the DVD-ROM"
"Please insert the correct DVD-ROM, select OK and restart application"
Then there's the OK button at the bottom
There's only 1 DVD for this game and it has to be in the drive for the game to run. The game just refuses to run. I finally sat down this weekend and all day today, trying different things, like cycling between the different compatibility modes, updating DVD firmware, tweaking the game's INI files, and Googling every damn thing I can think of to see if there any other solutions or anyone who's solved this. Nothing works.

I am using Vista Ultimate and my laptop has 1GB RAM. Though Vista only shows it to be 895MB. I learnt that Microsoft has introduced an Update which shows correct amount of RAM after it is installed. Actually, I dont have unlimitd access to Internet so, cant download Service Pack 1.Can anybody tell me what update number does this update have so that I can get this problem fixed.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm looking to reformat my hard drive. My knowledge of computers is very basic at best, so please bear with me. When I first installed Vista, I came across continuous problems. It's been so long, so I cannot remember what exactly the problems were (something along the lines of getting stuck during Windows updating I believe). Eventually I had help from a fellow online who gave me a specific procedure in installing Vista, something like 1) install Vista from CD, 2) download a service pack onto a USB port and update your computer from that 3) turn off automatic update, etc etc. Being foolish, I did not save the step by step procedure, and now am in need of it again.

I have been using a second monitor (Acer AL2216W) with my Vista Home Premium 64bit laptop as an extended desktop and all worked fine until yesterday. Now the 2nd monitor display is offset to the left, and I can't seem to find any setting that will correct it. Basically about 1.5" of blank space on the right side of the 2nd monitor that is unusable it acts as though it has reached the edge of the display.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having problems connecting to my network with my Vista laptop. Every time I try to connect it says that it cannot connect so I click the "diagnose problem" button and it tells me that "the wireless network passkey is not correct." However, I know for certain it is. I have reset the network settings twice now trying to get it to work and it doesn't change the problem. The only problems I've had with the network before today is getting booted off the network about an hour or so after I connect (unplug the router for a second and re-connect with no problems.)
I'm thinking the problem might have something to do with downloading a p2p program today and using it. Afterall, everything was fine before hand. I have reset Vistas network options to the default settings. I can still connect to the internet if I directly connect to the router with a wire, or if I turn off my router security and connect to the unsecured network. The other laptop we have (XP) connects to the network fine with the same passkey, and our desktop (XP) has no issues but its directly connected to the router. I've run AVG and Malwarebytes and they both return no problems. I've deleted the network profile, and manually added the network with the same results.
I just added 1 GB of memory to my computer bringing my memory up to 1280 according to Vista and after I restarted the computer and everything loaded I noticed that the Task Manager is showing a different amount of available memory then what the system information is showing. Task Manager was showing that I only had 15 MB of memory free I knew that something was wrong so I went to the system information in the system tools menu and it showed I had 800 MB of memory available.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAbout a week ago, I realized I could no longer send email. Same goes for my laptop on my home wireless network. Everything has been working fine for years and I don't recall making any changes that might affect the email. I have changed to port 587 and checked the authenticity required box but it didn't do any good. I went through Comcasts instructions for setting up email using Windows Vista, but it's still a no go. Another suggestion I read about is email scanning software. I turned of Norton 360 email scanner but it didn't fix the problem.
