My Internet Explorer does not 'find' the Favorites. My Favorites fie folder has not moved and contains files but the I.E. does not 'look' in the correct location. How do I tell IE where the folder is. (The error message says it is trying to open a non-existent folder)

I've got a game issue with the new Iron Man game released last week by Sega. It's affecting a lot of the PC gamers, but no one has found a solution yet. Hopefully, someone in here has some ideas or a solution. Iron Man installed fine, but when we go to launch it, we get the same error box popping up, saying:
"Cannot locate the DVD-ROM"
"Please insert the correct DVD-ROM, select OK and restart application"
Then there's the OK button at the bottom
There's only 1 DVD for this game and it has to be in the drive for the game to run. The game just refuses to run. I finally sat down this weekend and all day today, trying different things, like cycling between the different compatibility modes, updating DVD firmware, tweaking the game's INI files, and Googling every damn thing I can think of to see if there any other solutions or anyone who's solved this. Nothing works.

I'm looking to reformat my hard drive. My knowledge of computers is very basic at best, so please bear with me. When I first installed Vista, I came across continuous problems. It's been so long, so I cannot remember what exactly the problems were (something along the lines of getting stuck during Windows updating I believe). Eventually I had help from a fellow online who gave me a specific procedure in installing Vista, something like 1) install Vista from CD, 2) download a service pack onto a USB port and update your computer from that 3) turn off automatic update, etc etc. Being foolish, I did not save the step by step procedure, and now am in need of it again.

I have been using a second monitor (Acer AL2216W) with my Vista Home Premium 64bit laptop as an extended desktop and all worked fine until yesterday. Now the 2nd monitor display is offset to the left, and I can't seem to find any setting that will correct it. Basically about 1.5" of blank space on the right side of the 2nd monitor that is unusable it acts as though it has reached the edge of the display.

I'm having problems connecting to my network with my Vista laptop. Every time I try to connect it says that it cannot connect so I click the "diagnose problem" button and it tells me that "the wireless network passkey is not correct." However, I know for certain it is. I have reset the network settings twice now trying to get it to work and it doesn't change the problem. The only problems I've had with the network before today is getting booted off the network about an hour or so after I connect (unplug the router for a second and re-connect with no problems.)
I'm thinking the problem might have something to do with downloading a p2p program today and using it. Afterall, everything was fine before hand. I have reset Vistas network options to the default settings. I can still connect to the internet if I directly connect to the router with a wire, or if I turn off my router security and connect to the unsecured network. The other laptop we have (XP) connects to the network fine with the same passkey, and our desktop (XP) has no issues but its directly connected to the router. I've run AVG and Malwarebytes and they both return no problems. I've deleted the network profile, and manually added the network with the same results.

I just added 1 GB of memory to my computer bringing my memory up to 1280 according to Vista and after I restarted the computer and everything loaded I noticed that the Task Manager is showing a different amount of available memory then what the system information is showing. Task Manager was showing that I only had 15 MB of memory free I knew that something was wrong so I went to the system information in the system tools menu and it showed I had 800 MB of memory available.

'NEFGA :: View topic - Going to unread forum posts' But when I click the link, what shows up in the browser is - 'NEFGA :: View topic - Going to unread forum posts' Instead of taking me to the post for that message, it takes me to the top of the page the post is on. Why is the 65341 being dropped off.If tried clicking on the same hypertext in other applications such as Word and do not have the same problem.I'm using Firefox.

About a week ago, I realized I could no longer send email. Same goes for my laptop on my home wireless network. Everything has been working fine for years and I don't recall making any changes that might affect the email. I have changed to port 587 and checked the authenticity required box but it didn't do any good. I went through Comcasts instructions for setting up email using Windows Vista, but it's still a no go. Another suggestion I read about is email scanning software. I turned of Norton 360 email scanner but it didn't fix the problem.
Here is the error I'm getting on my desktop box when I try to send a test msg to me (or anyone else for that matter). "The message could not be sent. For help solving this problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the "I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. I just tried to open my Window Mail and got a message window that said: Windows Security: Please verify that both the user name and password are correct for your mail server. It then wants you to type your username and password into two blocks. It then has a check block that says "Remember My Credentials". Then OK or Cancel. This is the first time I have seen this when I open Windows Mail. Is this something new or is this some kind of virus/malware?

How can I get my email to always appear on both computers?
Also, the Windows Vista computer will only receive email, I get an error message when I try to send:

system specs
Windows Vista Ultimate, 64 bit, SP2
I was playing around with the permissions for one of my secondary drives that holds data e.g videos, mp3s so that my pal couldnt get into them and mess around with it and know it gives me this message everytime i try and access the drive.
Location is not available (this appears in the title bar of the error message)
I: is not accessible (this appears in the main part of the error message)
Access is denied (this appears under the above message in the error message)
And there is only an OK button i can press.
So here is how this all came about.
I right clicked on the drive,
selected properties,
Clicked on the security tab,
clicked on the "users" option under the "Group or user names" section,
Clicked on "edit",
clicked on the "users" option under the "Group or user names" section,
selected "deny" for every box under the "permissions for users" section,
clicked apply,
an clicked "ok" until the windows were all closed.
The drive name was then changed to "Access Denied" after i had done this with no letter assigned to the drive.
I went into computer management and assigned a drive letter but still no good.
I now right click the drive and select properties and the security tab is no longer there, so i cannot reverse the permissions.
I am logged in as an administrator.
I have tried to turn off UAC with no luck.
I have attempted to create another administrator account and change the permissions from there but no good.
So does anyone out there know of how i can get this drive accessible so i can access my files?

I have a problem with the file browser and my desktop. Whenever I open a folder I get a message:"Location is not Available F:philipmDesktop refers to a location that is unavailable. It could be on a hard drive etc......" This must be because i accidentally dragged the Desktop onto my portable hard drive and it isn't attached. I also cannot have any desktop Icons. I've tried plugging in the P. Hard Drv. and yet it takes no effect. So my question is, is it possible to redefine where it is looking to access my Desktop information. If so how?

I have gotten the following message twice over the past two months: windowssystem32configsystemprofileDesktop refers to a location that is unavailable... I then would simply restart Vista (Home Premium) and all would be okay. What would be causing this? Nothing has changed on my system. Is this indicating that something catastophic is about to happen?! I have read the tutorial on how to restore missing folders. Fortunately I'm not at that point yet.
