Setting Up Guest Account
Apr 23, 2009Just turned on the Guest Account for the first time. When I switch to this account, the desktop comes up with a bunch of misc blanked-out icons which it will not allow me to delete. And there's a blizzard of "Windows cannot open this file" messages - for shortcut links and for ..exe files including rundll32, issch, eullauncher, sttray, etc. How do I clean this up and start the Guest acct with a blank desktop?

Check the box for leaving messages on the server. The outgoing mail (SMTP) server address is: smtp.aol.com or smtp.aim.com, port: 587. Your user name is your AOL or AIM screen name. Your password is your AOL?? or AIM?? password-------I typed all the fields up to the outgoing info. the box would no accept : smtp.aol.com, port 587.

Jun 3, 2010I have tried to set up an email acount with microsoft windows, but only got as far as receiving an error report. I filled in POP3 on the first part of the server dialogue box and SM(P?)T on the second box. These were complete random guesses as I have no idea what they mean or what the correct ones are, far less how to find them. Why do they have to make these systems so difficult? How do I find out this information?

Mar 23, 2008I'm trying to set up a new email account on a new laptop. I've got my own email account on my own PC but want to set up a separate account for my wife on the laptop. So far as I am aware I've followed all the printed instructions but still can't get the account to work. Step by step this is what I've done:
1 clicked Tools>Accounts>Add
2 (a) on the Properties>General Page I've typed my wife's name in Mail Account
(b) in User Information I've put her name
(c) in Email Adress I've put her name xxxxxxxxxx@btinternet.com
(d) ticked 'Include this account when receiving mail or synchronising'3 on the Servers Page:
(a) Incoming Mail POP3 I've entered mail.btinternet.com
(b) Outgoing Mail SMTP I've entered mail.btinternet.com
(c) in Email User Name I've entered my wife's name (not the email address)
(d) when I try to enter a password the space is grayed out..............

Aug 24, 2009I have a Windows Live Mail account and a Yahoo account and they both show up on the left hand side of my Window Live Mail account so I can choose which account I want to use or, for example, which inbox to look in. At the bottom, also on the left hand side of my Windows Live Mail account, it shows 'Add e-mail account', which is what I want to do with a new 'AOL' account and I want it to show on the left hand side like the two other accounts.
So I made a new AOL e-mail account, clicked 'Add e-mail account' at the bottom of my 'Windows Live Account', then I put in my new AOL e-mail account and password where it showed me. Then I clicked next.
The next page was all about my email server. When I did this before with a new e-mail account, it was all filled out automatically for me, but this time, all the blanks were left open and I have no idea what to fill in. I believe once I have this information, the AOL e-mail account will automatically then show on the left hand pane of my Windows Live Mail account below the other two accounts.
Chaning Setting Control Pannel, Power Setting : Registry Resets Not
Jun 22, 2008It has happened occasionally, but with no predictability that I can see. I change settings in control pannel / power settings / balanced to 10 min for monitor and never for computer. I check the "advanced settings" to assure that they are the same. I use balanced because that seems to be the default in the registry. I do not see the actual settings in the registry. Every so often Vista resets the settings back to 20 min for the monitor. I have looked at but it speaks of "System Settings page" - I don't know what that is. In any case, my settings have no effect and I can't get the monitor to dependably go to standby after 10 minutes.

Mar 23, 2008I use a admin account on my computer but when I added standard user account it will not open some web pages for example when I go to my yahoo mail it will show the email but when I click on it, it will not show any text, but when I use the administrator account the web page works fine, I can see and read all emails. Another example is when I go to ask.com and search under the standard user it comes up as a blank page but will show search results under the administrator account. Windows Mail Account Don't Want New Account
Nov 10, 2009Up until yesterday lunchtime my email inbox on Windows Mail (I have Vista) showed my old emails as well as my new mails. then suddenly all my old emails disappeared and I can only see new emails from yesterday lunchtime! my emails have vanished - how do I get them back? I use AOL - when I check my AOL via webmail i can still see the old emails so know they exist. so why have they disappeard from Windows Mail?
I have several folders set up on my AOL Windows Mail accont so don't want to have to set up a new windows mail account as I will lose allmy folders. And my account settings are set to "view all mail". even wehn I press "send & receive" none of my old inbox emails are being shown up.
Gmail Account Not Retrun Account
May 15, 2010my Gmail account has been comprimised yesterday They have changed the secondary email so I cannot just reset the password I have tried to fill out the form to regain control over your account but they declined to give me my account. I have filled it out as best as I can, but I cannot remember the dates that I set up (I have deleted the email that I got when I set up the account). I never use personal information with that email account, and I didn't really mind about it, but I have got accounts registered with other sites (VF, SF, EF etc.) on it. I have changed the emails and passwords on these sites, but I don't know if I have missed any websites. Is there any way that I can contact google (preferably by email) to sort out this?

Nov 5, 2008Ok well let's begin. My father n law has a HP machine with Vista on it. Ever since he purchased it he when viewing webpage's, the headers and stuff like words overlap each other and it is very hard to read. Now it is not on all webpage's but on most, and it is not the main text. For instance when you log onto EBAY, all the links on the left under Shop Your Favorite Categories are messed up. The clickable words are on top of each other yet spread out a little. Please help me out so we can get this resolved. I tried to adjust the display setting for a larger screen but that did not work. His screen settings are maxed out. I think 1440x900 @ 32 bit. I know this really does not make a whole lot of sense but it is hard to explain.
