View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently set a password for my user account in Vista Home Premium, which worked fine when I locked the account and unlocked it again to try it out. After restarting, however, it wouldn't accept the password! There's only my account and a disabled guest account, and I use the password for some of my online accounts, so I know I got the password right. I got back into Windows by using the password reset on my USB-stick, but it's weird... and it gets better! Today I locked the account while I was in the library, and when I got back I couldn't log back in! Switching users, however, and then logging in with the locked account worked... so password and user account are fine, it just doesn't always get accepted.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI cant send emails because, WM wont accept my username and password. as i click send, it asks me for these. i type them in and the verification window disappears and comes back again. jus completely ignores my details so i press cancel and i dont even get an error message, how annoying? my server settings are correct, oh and i can recieve emails fine. i even change my outgoing settings to the same as my ingoing and it makes no difference.

I have tried reinstalling Vista but it appears that the CD-ROM is not working because it doesn't read any of the cd's that I put in. I've tried turning off password protection in Network and Sharing Centre, but no matter how many times I select "Turn off sharing" and then click APPLY, it just doesn't turn off!!! The on button remains!

Put my email account on it, etc. However, when I came home today and got on it, a window asking for my password appeared. I had or have (who knows now at this stage) an Administrator,User and HDD password installed on my machine. I went into my setup and changed my user password from set to clear but left my other passwords at set. when I exited and saved changes and rebooted I could not get back in with any and all passwords. To make things worse I cannot boot from cd either. My friend at work forgot his password and cannot log onto his computer. He is running Windows vista home premium on a Compaq laptop. We tried to go into the safe mode but the only screen we get is his password sign on screen. Even during boot we pressed f8 key but the password screen came up. 1) Without any reason software suddently doesn't work.
a) I installed a Antivirussoftware - after 3 Weeks it suddently didn't work any more (Kaspersky) I couldn't reinstall it.
b) I installed a new Antivirussoftware - after 5 days it didn't work anymore.
c) 4 days later I started to get errormessages "Windows Defender doesn't work any more" - "Windows Hostprocess doesn't work anymore"
I am unable to receive emails on windows email but i can send them fine.
