Shortly after trying to install SP1, I get to the "Please read the license terms" window. However, there is no box to check to accept the terms, and, thus, the "next" box is grayed out. I'm tried to install though windows update and download of the file.

View 7 Replies View RelatedVista started giving a blue screen a couple of days ago. Mentioned something about a bad device, but no new devices have been added. Went through the typical steps, tried to boot in safe mode and got the following errors:
AtBroker.exe The application failed to initialize properly. Click OK.
Explorer.exe The application failed to initialize properly. Blue Screen
Then booted to my install dvd, tried to fix errors. Came back with a failed check at the file system integrity check. Ran the check a second time and no errors are found. Can't boot in safe mode, and when i try to repair errors I get no errors found.
I tried to install "InCD" v4.07 on a vista Laptop to make the DVD-RW to write & delete files like I did on my XP desktop but, Vista will not accept this InCD. Is there an InCD or equivalent to put on Vista?
I try to start my computer up but when I try to insert my password it won't accept it. How can I start my computer up without entering my password or how can I change it?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently set a password for my user account in Vista Home Premium, which worked fine when I locked the account and unlocked it again to try it out. After restarting, however, it wouldn't accept the password! There's only my account and a disabled guest account, and I use the password for some of my online accounts, so I know I got the password right. I got back into Windows by using the password reset on my USB-stick, but it's weird... and it gets better! Today I locked the account while I was in the library, and when I got back I couldn't log back in! Switching users, however, and then logging in with the locked account worked... so password and user account are fine, it just doesn't always get accepted.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI cant send emails because, WM wont accept my username and password. as i click send, it asks me for these. i type them in and the verification window disappears and comes back again. jus completely ignores my details so i press cancel and i dont even get an error message, how annoying? my server settings are correct, oh and i can recieve emails fine. i even change my outgoing settings to the same as my ingoing and it makes no difference.

Before the chkdisk program start you have the option to skip it, if you do so you get a screen saying "Vista is Configuring the update 3/3" and then restart again...
The lap top have a rescue partition, with an auto-fix option, but it didin't worked, it was on running it all the night
When using the Spell Check, I inadvertantly clicked on the "Add" button, which put a word I misspelled into my Spell Check list. I would like to remove this unwanted word, but I cannot figure out to get rid of it, since there isn't a "Remove" button in the Spell Check window. Does anyone know if this word can be taken out of Spell Check?

In virtually every other Microsoft product we have both English (American) and English (True or UK as normally quoted). Why not in this product after all Americans only make up some 4 or 5% of the world population?
View 9 Replies View RelatedAbout 6 months ago I ran a Check Disk of my C Drive (using the Vista Error Checking tool), and checked both boxes before starting (Auto fix file system errors and Scan for/attempt recovery of bad sectors).
It ran thru the 1st 5 of the 6 checks without finding an error.
On the 6th and final check it runs, it hung (or the 4th of the 5 checks it runs - can't remember if it's 5 or 6 it runs). . I believe it began the check, but stopped and didn't move any further. A few hours later it still hadn't moved, so I did a hard shutdown....
i tried burning music, selected the correct format, then it proceeds to windows media player. it doesn't have any problems until it finalizes the cd or dvd although a message appears that burning was completed O.o when i check the cd/dvd there's nothing on there! i have no problems playing music or movies on
my dvd-rom.
