Every time I send pictures there are about 20 small pictures of advertisement. I go throw all my pictures I want to send and they are find and then I send them and check the pictures after I send them I have all these advertizing small pictures.
When I receive email the text is there but the pictures are not. Sometimes I get the red X and other times nothing. But if I do a select all the blank space turns blue as if something is there. When I get mail from ex. USAJobs, the entire body of the email is blank. Some others the text directing me to "having trouble viewing this email click here" and then it takes me to their website. I have the block pics box unchecked and I am running vista with PCTools Spyware doctor. Also email from friends and family the pictures show up with no problems. The only problem I am having is from commercial sites. And yes I even added them to my allow list.
I get Host SMTP could not be found verify that you have entered the server name correctly.I've gone to tools, accounts, email acct.properties,servers,advanced,SMTP25 apply and still get same message.
Contact has a Vista business laptop that until recently when you went into Windows Explorer to look at pictures you can press the email button and it would prepare an email in their email client Mozilla Thunderbird with the image as a file attachment.
However recently this has changed back to Microsoft Outlook for no particular reason. Checked all the defaults and they all point to Thunderbird still being the default program for email. Under file associations, have checked that for protocols, SENDTO is set to Thunderbird. However the "E-mail" button still now brings up Outlook. How can I change this back. It's very frustrating and I've played around for a good long while.
I have recently had strange pixilated images mixed in with our photos when playing music and selecting slide show, our photos appear along with random images, they are not coming from MY PICTURES folder as i have right clicked when the odd pic appears and they are coming from random folders that i can't find.
I thought the strange graphics were coming from itunes or Tom Tom so i have uninstalled them both...but the images keep coming. How do i stop media center looking and producing these annoying images
All the pictures in my Pictures folder have disappeared, leaving behind a bunch of empty folders. I did not delete them, and I have no viruses according to AVG. It appears that this happened to a few others on this forum, but no solutions were presented. I noticed that the Read Only button was checked on the main folder, so I unchecked it, and I watched the status window un-apply "read only" protection from all my actual pictures files, so it seems to me that they're still there but invisible.
I performed a system restore, and Recova is in the process of performing a "Deep Scan" for my pictures (the quicker scan did not find the files). Has anyone solved the problem of the disappearing pictures? Is this a Vista problem, or perhaps a problem with an update?
After an automatic windows update, my computer restarted and everything on the monitor has shrunk down in size including the toolbar, sidebar, mouse, internet explorer and everthing else. I have a Dell 22" widescreen LCD with resolution set at 1680 by 1050 which I believe is the correct resolution. Any recommendations to return everything back to its normal size?
what Vista (and XP for that matter) uses for name resolution when on a small p2p workgroup? With no domain or server running DNS and no longer able to run Netbios on the pc. With IP installed I can ping by IP address but what exactly is allowing me to ping by machine name?
Everything on my computer is smaller not the size of the screen. but the web pages the pictures/ print / the works I did not change the apperance. Or any thing like that it just did it. I have tryed everything but can't get it to return to normal.
I've been trying for a while now, to connect 3 of my computers in a small home network. As far I understand all I have to do is have a wireless router. and then put all 3 computers under the same workgroup, then they should be able to see each other. I do have a trend micro firewall, which I put under the profile small home network.
I was searching around Google for a while and wasn't able to find any answers. I'm using Home Premium x64 SP1, and the annoyance is AOL Instant Messenger. AIM has small buttons for the top right (minimize, maximize, and close) and for some reason Vista can't detect them as being those buttons. So since Vista's got a thick resize area, I can only mouse over 1/4 of the close button before it changes to the resize cursor. I was hoping some of you have found a workaround or solution to this, and I'm not interested in using another IM program. I've included a small screen shot in case you don't have AIM installed and can see for yourself how small the buttons are.
my problem is that the display and font size too small. I have done system restore and changed the resolution of the screen. once when I did sytem restore it came back to normal but them after is went to sleep it came back small and different type font. now I cannot get it back at all. My backround is smaller not taking the whole monitor as it did What can I do I am very frustrated I cannot figure it out.
I sometimes get my main monitor blurry (I have 2). It looks like the resolution decreased and it even has these small horizontal lines flashing you can notice when you look real close to it. It resembles ?static?. To fix it, I can go to the nVidia control panel and switch the monitor configuration and then hit ?No? when it asks me if I want to keep the setting But then it will come back again later at random it seems.
Recently, all my files icons have a small blue box with >> inside it attached to them. Can anyone explain what program is causing this and what do they mean? Unfortunately , I can not cut and paste a sample in here.
There are numerous queries for this problem on the site but no answers. When viewing a streamed movie on the net the images are good in the small screen mode: however, when changed to full screen mode, there is only a black screen with sound. "Esc" returns the stream to the movie in small screen mode. Does anyone have a fix?
The icon size of the recently run programs list on the Start Menu is set to large by default. This is great if you like the large icons but it also cuts down on the number of recently run programs that can be displayed. Follow the steps below to give your Start Menu a cleaner look and disable large icons: ...
I had this issue once before on a different PC and it was XP not Vista, and got tech support but forgot how to fix it. My spell check in e-mail works fine except misses the letter I standing alone. Tech support took me somewhere (in WORD I think) and we found this box that had the small letter i in it and was not supposed to have anything in it. Spelling rules or something. We removed it and it then worked fine.
I bought a new laptop with Vista Home Premium and was told that I could install office 2003 without a problem. I have the disc for small business office 2003, that I have installed on my PC with windows XP pro. I load the disc and the wizard opens and starts the download but stops about 1/4 of the way through saying there is an error- a file is missing and to use the disc ( which I already have in the drive).
with no hand on my mouse, the pointer will begin to move around erratically usually in a small area. It is a cheapy optical made by Micro Innovations. Is it eh mouse's fault or something else in my system? I'm running Vista 64-bit Ultimate.
I have Vista 6.0 (Build 6001; service pack 1) I'm also running Norton Internet Security. When I go to a website like MySpace most of the pictures are blank and have x's in them. Also if I click on a link before the page finishes loading I get a small icon on the lower left side of with a yellow error flag.
Error on startup. After a period of time. Having scoured several topics in relation to this issue, I am still none the wiser and like many pledging for some guidance, I thought it best to post here. Some quick Background Info;
I made this computer using my old Powersupply ( Jeantech 500W) and Harddrive. I had previously used the graphics card in my old setup and had no issues. This was XP, different motherboard, processor etc. I formatted the Harddrive and installed Windows 64bit and installed all the new parts. Drivers are all up to date except the motherboard. (Of which the CD couldn't be detected)
When I turn on my computer, at the login screen I receive small blocks of colour that do not match the screens intended picture. On the log in screen this is normally minimal, but on my main desktop this will nearly cover the screen intermitantly. Sounds bad? But it will either fix itself in time with the "Windows has recovered the driver Atiamtag" Or, I pop open the Chess program and on load up this clears the issue..........
I can't tell you how close to tears I come with Vista. I have a vast number of PDF and Word documents that I must constantly use -rearrange - organize - categorize...If I am using the "Details" view - I can't look at the titles of the files the way I WANT TO ... I must either see EVERYTHING as "Size column to fit" or worse, "Szie all columns to fit."
If I am using the "List" view and moving files in my main folder into (or out of) several sub folders, the entire list will automatically move about when I perform a drag and drop operation, from the folder at the start of the list (where I drop it) to suddenly shifting many columns back to where I got the file from ... OMG I want to scream!
If I use "Small Icons" I can't read the entire title of half of my files and can't read their size or dates."Tiles" and "Medium Icons" are just too big ...Why can't I actually have "classic view" when I try to set up the windows with CLASSIC VIEW???I swear - it's as though someone at Microsoft actually believes that most people only play video games and not serious work.Is there anyway to actually make folders open and function like all of the old Windows systems did? These nifty bells and whistles consume so much of my time and I'm close to never coming back to this platform again.
Is there a way to place small (not tiny) photos on the desktop? If you do a normal copy/paste, the photo is barely viewable. I do not want it as a wallpaper, I just want to put a few photos on the desktop to look at.
I can't find my Pictures amywhere on my hard-drive. I'velooked in "C:usersduncsdocumentsPictures", but I don't have a folder called "documents", or indeed one called "Pictures".In Explorer, under 'Desktop | Duncs' I have the following, among otherthings:Documents - This has a location of G:I don't however, have anything for 'Pictures' or 'My Pictures'. WhenI do a search on my G: drive, for .JPG files, it lists all thepicture files that I have so where are they? Displaying the folder shows the following-"My Pictures (G", but still I can't find them. There is no folder called 'My Pictures' or 'Pictures' on the G: drive. If I try to right-click and open location, I get the message "G: My Pictures is not accessible. The directory name is invalid."
