Is there a way to place small (not tiny) photos on the desktop? If you do a normal copy/paste, the photo is barely viewable. I do not want it as a wallpaper, I just want to put a few photos on the desktop to look at.

View 9 Replies View RelatedAfter an automatic windows update, my computer restarted and everything on the monitor has shrunk down in size including the toolbar, sidebar, mouse, internet explorer and everthing else. I have a Dell 22" widescreen LCD with resolution set at 1680 by 1050 which I believe is the correct resolution. Any recommendations to return everything back to its normal size?

As far I understand all I have to do is have a wireless router. and then put all 3 computers under the same workgroup, then they should be able to see each other. View 5 Replies View RelatedI was searching around Google for a while and wasn't able to find any answers. I'm using Home Premium x64 SP1, and the annoyance is AOL Instant Messenger. AIM has small buttons for the top right (minimize, maximize, and close) and for some reason Vista can't detect them as being those buttons. So since Vista's got a thick resize area, I can only mouse over 1/4 of the close button before it changes to the resize cursor. I was hoping some of you have found a workaround or solution to this, and I'm not interested in using another IM program. I've included a small screen shot in case you don't have AIM installed and can see for yourself how small the buttons are.

I have done system restore and changed the resolution of the screen. once when I did sytem restore it came back to normal but them after is went to sleep it came back small and different type font. now I cannot get it back at all. My backround is smaller not taking the whole monitor as it did What can I do I am very frustrated I cannot figure it out.

It looks like the resolution decreased and it even has these small horizontal lines flashing you can notice when you look real close to it. It resembles ?static?. To fix it, I can go to the nVidia control panel and switch the monitor configuration and then hit ?No? when it asks me if I want to keep the setting But then it will come back again later at random it seems.

My spell check in e-mail works fine except misses the letter I standing alone. Tech support took me somewhere (in WORD I think) and we found this box that had the small letter i in it and was not supposed to have anything in it. Spelling rules or something. We removed it and it then worked fine.

I have the disc for small business office 2003, that I have installed on my PC with windows XP pro. I load the disc and the wizard opens and starts the download but stops about 1/4 of the way through saying there is an error- a file is missing and to use the disc ( which I already have in the drive).

View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently "upgraded" from XP to Xista Home Premium. Big mistake! I have used my camera to take group photos for years and I used the camera's recording function as a means to identify the people in the photos. It worked great! Now, with Vista, I am unable to get any sound whatsoever. The visual indicator moves across the screen as though there was sound there.
I have tried "open with" different alternatives with no results. I can get sound by kind of going in through another program (Roxio) so I know the sound is there. Vista has cost me a significant amount in that I could not use some programs plus I had to buy a new printer.
I have an older computer, running XP, and I used Microsoft Digital Library, to keep track of about 2K images. I now have a new computer, running Vista, and have used the "transfer files " (using a USB) option, on Vista, to import all the photos, to the new HD. I also installed the old Microsoft Digital Image Suite (including the "libr ary"), on the new Vista=A0HD. Some of the photo files transferred just fine - dates taken, labels, etc.; however, a bunch of them transferred with totally incorrect dates taken, an d missing, or no labels. Needless to say, to fix this mess, on an individual photo file basis, is go ing to take forever. (I did change a few of the dates taken, and added labe ls, using the Photo Gallery, on Vista, and it did work, but there are tons of them, still wrong.)
View 6 Replies View Relatedwhy my photos pixelate when I zoom into them, they are okay for a few zoom clicks, but then they begin to pixelate, the problem seems to be the same on Photo shop, Picaso and my other programs, but its a little bit better on Office Picture Manager (which I still have on a trial basis) the same pictures were perfectly okay on my old computer and I could zoom right into them without pixelation, my old computer is a far lower spec than my Sony vio so I expected the photo facilities to be as good or better on the Sony. The odd thing is that the photos look perfect when the screen saver slide show enlarges them, no pixelation at all!

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to do this it says it is going to take around 7 hours and nothing else happens..I know it shouldn't be doing this and that I am doing everything correctly as it used to work fine. However I recently had to reinstall vista on my laptop and don't know if this has caused a change which will prevent photos burning now! I am using CD-R discs and my drive is compatible with DVD discs and CD-R and CD-RW so I'm not going wrong here! All the discs I am using are new and therefore blank. Also I'm not a computer whizz in the slightest so any explanations have to be fairly simple!

When I scanned photos with XP on my HP1200 printer/scanner in Preview I could enlarge the photos. With Vista can't seem do that. Am I missing something here? I can scan in Paint or in Windows Photo Gallery, but in neither can I enlarge the photo.
