Since I have upgraded the PC to Vista, I cannot use anymore WinTV-HVR-1300 (PCI) (Same issue with PCTV Dual hybrid - PCI-Express). Vista simply hangs while booting, the last driver loaded is crcdisck.sys. If I remove the WinTV card Vista works perfectly. With WinXP all was working fine. I tried to remove all the cards from the PC... the issue happens when I insert the WinTV or the PCTV card... Of course I also tried to change some settings in the BIOS without success.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am staying with family temporarily after selling my home. I kept my roadrunner account to retain my email addresses until I find a new home. I am hooked up to their internet, Verizon FIOS, thru a wireless connection. I am receiving my mail in Windows mail, but I can't seem to get the outgoign configured to send on their server. I entered the smtp server, outgoing.verizon.net and set it for authentication using their email and password but that doesn't work.

I've set it up just like it should be. Even used ATT chat with tech support and still no sending. What's weird is I can't receive mail either unless I use the default settings for my incomming server.

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Subject 'test', Account: 'pop.tiscali.co.uk', Server: 'smtp.tiscali.co.uk', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10053, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F
Having used my present system on Windows Mail for a year it has suddenly decided not to send emails. I have looked at previous posts and tried everything - the message error I'm getting now is 0x800CCC7D. It's happening with all posts even one which is just a receipt message from an incoming post. I have AVG virus cover and Super Antispyware but have tried to find out if these are relevant the problem and had no joy.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI connect through a dial-up connection. My windows firewall is turned off. I would like to be able to block all outgoing traffic at any given time. In windows 2000 I did this with the command: route delete 0.0.0.0 After I type this command there is no traffic going out. On my Vista machine however there is a wanarp.sys process that keeps sending outgoing traffic for 20 seconds after i type the above command. I need to make this stop.

When setting up my e-mail account and I get to incoming and outgoing promps it comes back to me that neither POP3 or IMAP are valid. As of now I hate this system. But I am stuck with it for my business.
View 5 Replies View RelatedHow do I change my outgoing email from port 25 to port 80
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhenever I send an email with pictures embedded in the body of the email, all the recipient sees is a bunch of red x's. Typically, what I am sending is a forward of something someone else sent to me. Since I received and viewed the pictures just fine, clearly the problem is not in how the pictures are in the email. The preview of my outgoing email always shows the pictures just fine. But the recipients never can view them.
I have a Vista computer, and am using Windows Mail with my Cox email account. My wife is on the same computer. We have separate user accounts. She has the same setup as me - Windows Mail with her Cox email account. The security software is Microsoft Security Essentials. We had previously been using McAfee. My problems remained the same under both softwares. My wife has had no problems with sending pictures. She will receive the same email as me, forward it to someone else, and they can vie the pictures just fine. She can forward an email to me, and I can view the pictures. But if I forward that email back to her, like everyone else, all she sees is red x's.
The information needed to begin a new account is almost impossible to find....I can't locate the incoming or outgoing server to set up windows mail. You'd think that information would come with your new Windows Vista Home Premium when you purchase it on your computer, but it doesn't. Does anyone know how to solve this mystery? I didn't think it should be so difficult.....

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've read several other similar threads but can't solve this. I can't get my outgoing pop3 mail to send through Gmail in Windows Mail. I've repeatedly checked instructions as given through many sites to make sure all the right ports are typed in for Gmail, all the right boxes checked. I even unchecked the box someone suggested in the Norton security outgoing mail filter, and I still get this message:
The host 'stmp.gmail.com' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Subject 'testing 123', Account: 'pop.gmail.com', Server: 'stmp.gmail.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 465, Secure(SSL): Yes, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D
I cant send emails because, WM wont accept my username and password. as i click send, it asks me for these. i type them in and the verification window disappears and comes back again. jus completely ignores my details so i press cancel and i dont even get an error message, how annoying? my server settings are correct, oh and i can recieve emails fine. i even change my outgoing settings to the same as my ingoing and it makes no difference.
