When replying/composing a email I attempt to send and the email is moved to the outbox and does not get sent. I have had the program working previously but has just now started having these problems. I can receive emails just wont allow me to send.

My computer is 32 byts I found that on the computer..Then also tried to change that 25 to the 587 ( as I read of here also ) and now the message says " one or more messages in your outbox do not have a valid acct.specified would you like to use your default acct to send messages...I have deleted this acct. and started over many times and still end up with the same results..

When I try to delete the mail it will not delete, when I try to move the mail to the junk mailbox it cannot be moved, when I try to send the mail it cannot send. I've tried shutting down Windows mail and restarting, I tried shutting down the computer, I've tried changing the "sender" e-mail addy, tried changing the "to" e-mail addy. This mail is now blocking other mails I am trying to send.
I purchased a new Acer computer in January 2008 which had Vista Premium pre-installed; i activated the free 90-day trial from Norton. The Mail program worked fine until about one week ago when my outbox stopped working:
1) when i press ??Send/Reveive?? nothing happens, and even the graphics for that button do not seem to work (i.e. the button does not appear to indent). In order for me to be able to send email, I have to close the Mail program, at which point I get a message box asking if i want to send the unsent message(s), which it does when I click on OK.
2) I've also noticed that the bold characters (that normally indicate if there are unread messages in the Inbox, or unsent messages in the OUTbox) do not work anymore, i.e. they stay bold eventhough there are no new messages in the Inbox, or are not in bold when there are unsent messages in the OUTbox..............
I am staying with family temporarily after selling my home. I kept my roadrunner account to retain my email addresses until I find a new home. I am hooked up to their internet, Verizon FIOS, thru a wireless connection. I am receiving my mail in Windows mail, but I can't seem to get the outgoign configured to send on their server. I entered the smtp server, outgoing.verizon.net and set it for authentication using their email and password but that doesn't work.

I've been looking through all the similar posts and have tried varying different suggestions from people but still my message is stuck in the outbox and I'm unable to Send emails.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI find that when I have a message in the outbox and the message is no longer "unread," it disappears regardless of whether it was sent! I believe this is the cause for two current problems:
1. everytime I close Windows Mail, I receive the message "You have unsent messages in your Outbox. Do you want to send them now?" Of course I always click "yes," but the truth is there are no messages in my outbox, and even if I click yes, I will be given the same message if I open and close Windows Mail again. It is chronic!
2. I cannot be sure if a message was actually sent after it's been read and disappears from my outbox. Just this morning, I read a message in my outbox. It became "read," then it disappeared. When I hit send/receive, it successfully "sent" the message according to the action item, but then it failed to move the message from my outbox to the sent folder. So now the mail has disappeared and I have no record of it ever being in existence.
I have an email stuck in my outbox and can't delete. It's preventing me from sending any emails. I tried the using the update mentioned, but it won't work, brings up an error box

When sending a message in Outlook Express 6.0 in Windows XP, the message will say there were errors but in the details section it is blank. There will also be a copy of the message that stays in the outbox BUT the message is being received by the recipient. Also, I can't delete the message from the Outbox and the message keeps getting sent every time OE is openned.
