ATI Radeon Recongnize TV Tuners

Mar 23, 2008

I have a ATI Radeon All-In-Wonder 2006 with HDTV built in running a X1300 GPU and 256 GDDR2 memory.. The graphics card works fine, but Vista neither recognizes the TV Tuner nor do I think ATI will support it since AMD bought them out.. AMD is being very vague on AIW or any TV Tuner support. I'm curious what Microsoft will do to support the full functions of mass marketed hardware such as the All-In Wonder TV Tuner Graphics cards?

Installed Vista X64 Ram Of Xp Doesn't Recongnize

Jun 20, 2008

I installed a copy of Vista x64 Ultimate to try out on my machine because i have 4Gb of ram and windows XP doesn't recognize it It installed on my AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ black edition no problem, but after it downloaded 42 updates i went into a BSOD loop. No matter what i did after that, i could not re-install XP on anyone of the 6 Hd's i had in my system. If i tried... BSOD.

I had no choice but to purchase yet another HD (which i didnt really need) just so i can use that as a singular connected drive to install XP on again. Now then, most of my drives are now unreadable in XP and i get messages like this an error occurred reading folder:the volume does not contain a recognized file system. please make sure that all required file system drivers are loaded and that the volume is not corrupted (1005) I have even tried connecting said drives to USB/Firewire external enclosures to see if i can access files that way. If i have lost over 2Tb of data on these drives just for installing vista, i will be looking for someone at MS to assassinate please tell me there is a viable solution to this

Can Use Both ATI & Hauppauge TV Tuners?

Mar 26, 2008

I just sold one of my pc and would like to keep the Hauppauge TV tuner made for Media Center 2005 or Vista Media Center and install it as the 2nd tuner in my Vista Ultimate PC. That pc already has an ATI Theater 550 Pro tuner and I wasn't sure if I could mix two different brands without problems in Vista. I have downloaded the latest Hauppauge Vista/MCE2005 drivers and would be using them after Vista installs the built in drivers for the Hauppauge tuner.

Vista Directly Status Won't Recongnize Drive

Aug 18, 2009

I have a Asus K8V-MX/S motherboard and it is nearly impossible to find bios updates for it with an old 20 gb ide hdd and a new tb samsung sata hdd. Currently the 20 gb has my vista home premium on it and is close to being full and I can't load in additional programs like office etc.. I have been not been able to load vista directly to the sata because vista won't recognize the drive because it is attached to a sata pci controller because my mb can't find the hdd either.

I have tried several cloning programs to get the vista cloned on to the new sata but that has turned out to be unsuccessful. I remember one program, XXClone, telling me that ntldr and netdetect.com files couldn't be found to make it bootable. What options do I have at this point?

Media Center Capable TV Tuners

Nov 3, 2007

I have the Gigabyte GT-PTV-AF-RH TV Tuner, for which I've downloaded the appropriate Vista x64 driver from the Gigbyte website (www.gigabyte.com.tw). Media Center still cannot see the tuner, as it says "No Tuner Hardware Found" (although I can use the remote in a limited fashion). The Tuner is working, IF I use the bundled Cyberlink PowerCinema. I'd really prefer to use Windows Media Center.

Gigabyte tells me I need to install the MCECodec, which is provided by Cyberlink. Oddly enough, Cyberlink says they're only responsible for Cyberlink Powercinema, and need to contact the card manufactuer.

Gigabyte DOES have a download for XPMCE x64, but the installer says it won't work with Vista x64.

Where can I get the MCECodec so that my tuner card can work with MCE?

If there is no solution, perhaps a recomendation on replacing the Gigabyte tuner with one from another manufacturer that is proven to work with Vista x64 Media Center and that comes supplied with a Media Center Remote Control?

List Of Tuners And Media Centers, Control By Intervideo Remote

Jan 24, 2008

I'm wondering if anyone as seen a comprehensive list of the various media center applications and the tuners they support? I'm doing this mainly because my tuner isn't supported on MS's Media Center. Microsoft Media Center: no combination cards supported (like mine - the Asus 9520, aka Nvidia Geforce 5200, which has the tuner built into the video card)

Intervideo Home Theater 2: mine works great, but they don't seem to support digial tv - so my satellite recvr won't be able to be controled by the Intervideo remote control that i got with the card...etc... (I can only choose cable or antenna as the source - not satellite or stb) Otherwise, i use it fine. Support sucks, and it has been bought by Corel recently. Meebia - bought by Yahoo, now Yahoo! Go - TV.. seems they have a short list, haven't tried mine. Moxi TV for PC - not out yet, looks promising. Cyberlink PowerCinema - haven't tried it yet. Beyond TV - tried it in the past, didn't work. may try it again now that i have the latest drivers for all my stuff.

Radeon HD 2600XT Trouble

Feb 16, 2008

I have just installed Vista x64 with a Radeon HD 2600 XT graphics card, and I am experiencing graphics corruption in, particularly in 3d apps.

I sometimes get white horizontal lines across the screen and sometimes white blocks. In some 3d apps portions of the environment flicker out. they seem to disappear and I can see what is behind whatever object has disappeared momentarily.

Using Catalyst I can see that the graphics card never breaks 40% GPU utilization and the temperature never exceeds 40 degrees C.

I also had a very low end Nvidia 7500LE using the generic windows driver which also had the white lines, but I never tested the 3d apps with it.

Currently, if using the 8.2 ATI drivers, all seems well until I launch a 3d app. I have a 500 watt power supply.

ATI Radeon And Green Screen With DVR-MS Files

Sep 20, 2008

Wondering if anyone has a suggestion. When importing a DVR-MS file recorded using Windows Media Center into Windows Movie Maker, in order to convert it to a more compact WMV file, a green screen shows up in the preview pane on the right-hand side. The audio works -- but only green shows.

It's strange because the DVR-MS file plays fine within Windows Media Center.

System is a Dell XPS 410 running an ATI Radeon x1600 pro with the latest Certified driver from Windows Update (8.391.0.0 dated 6/26/2007).

There is a later driver available from ATI, 8.9, but before taking the risk up upgrading the driver, wonder if there's another setting that may be causing the green screen?

Radeon X1600 PRO From AMD And Vista Won't Boot

Mar 23, 2008

I installed the latest driver for my Radeon X1600 PRO from AMD (ATI), and I got a BSOD during the driver installation. Now Vista won't boot at all. It is telling me that WindowsSystem32Driversacpi.sys is missing or corrupt. I am dual-booting XP and Vista, and I found out that the entire drivers folder is missing on Vista. How can I get it back, or will I have to do a format re-install?

Radeon HQ 4770 Work On System

Apr 18, 2010

I have an eMachines ET1161-05 desktop and the integrated graphics leaves much to be desired. It runs Vista Basic 32 bit O.S. Other (factory) stuff is: Emachines MCP61PM-GM Motherboard.....I hope it does cause I've already ordered an XFX HD477AYDFC Radeon HD 4770 Video Card - 512MB DDR5, PCI Express 2.0, along with a Diablotek DA Series 500w ATX Power Supply (D15-1205). Will these new (in transit from tiger direct) items get along well with my system? I'm not expecting miracles, but I am expecting large improvements.

Display 1080P With Sapphire Radeon HD 4850

Aug 4, 2008

I'm building a computer and have all of the components (just need to finish putting them together). Now, I have a Sapphire Radeon HD 4850 card and was hoping to watch Blu-Ray videos on my current monitor which is an HP w19b. The monitor has a maximum resolution of 1440x900. From what I understand of HD technology, this would mean that no, the monitor would not be able to handle the full 1080p resolution, but it should be able to display 720p.

But here is the question, will my current monitor be able to display ANYTHING from the Blu-Ray player? I think the confusion comes in when I see these monitors that advertise HD capable, but I thought all monitors were HD capable, you just need to know what resolution you are trying to display the HD at, 720p or 1080p.

Radeon HD4850 Multidisplays And Sleep Mode

Aug 24, 2008

I figure I might as well post it in this forum to inform those who have my card (ASUS EAH4850 512MB). Currently after posting this topic in another forum, there seems to be no solution. Here is my conclusions from the situation. Sleep mode with Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit does not work with multidisplays, using the radeon HD4850 running Catalyst 8.7 or Catalyst 8.8, when returning from sleep mode. It works only on a single display and will not work even when the secondary display is disabled. Monitors will display a blank screen and the power lights will flash indicating they are in standby even after the system has been restored from sleep mode. The secondary monitor must be physically detached from the graphics card (remove the DVI, AGP, or S-Video cable) for the system to return from sleep mode.

Yes, knowing what hardware you actually have would have been helpful,

whichever you have). While you're in there, make sure the onboard sound ...
