Evidently, the vic32.dll was removed when I removed some adware/spyware that had infected my PC. I have since re-downloaded the vic32.dll, but do not know where to locate it. Can someone tell me in what folder the vic32.dll should reside?
I have spyware that is in my registry. I have run spybot & adware but cannot get this spyware to be removed. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to find spyware in my registry? Where it is located?
I am about at the end of my rope with my daughters computer. She has AdWare or whatever. I have run Spybot S&D v1.2, Spyware Doctor v3.2.1, Microsofts Anti Spyware v Beta 1 and Ad-Aware SE. I have run them all numerous times and the last time I ran As-Aware, it didn't find anything I've taken our over 600 bugs. After all of that, when I connect to my ISP either FireFox or IE, the screen goes crazy with adware screens and I get continuous IE errors. I have all the MS updates.
I've been having tons of trouble trying to remove spyware and adware from my computer, I've tried multiple different programs but have been unable to clean them all out.
I am having trouble loading software on my computer after removing adwareand spyware. Every time I try to install new software I get the followingerror messag: C:WindowsSystem32Autoexec.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.
I had a message that my PC is infected by Spyware/adware this morning and it took me to PSGuard.com to install something to disinfect my PC. is it OK to use this or should I use something else?
Everytime I open a spyware or adware removal program it will just exit on it's own. Spybot S&D, Ad-Aware, and even the spyware removal tool on System Mechanic 4
Restored entire pc as a result of spyware and adware. It's quick and clean, and I've never had a problem doing it before. I restored to Win98SE, then upgraded to XP Home, then downloaded Service Pack 2. Everything went smoothly. Then, tried to add Fax Service. First of all, it tells me to load the XP cd; then it says it can't find a .dll file it needs; continue without it? Yes. The job completes, but then I discover that IE and OE have disappeared. Back to "add windows components". Check IE and OE. Run the job and it ends "successfully". Check Fax, and it's gone, but IE and OE are back (with all the settings I had done after SP2). Does anyone have any idea what's going on here?
I have a Pentium 4, 2.4 ghz, 2 GB ram. I have automated antivirus updates/checking from Panda, and spyware/adware detection/removal. I do jsp development using JDeveloper and on occasion my system would lock up (no Ctrl-Alt-Delete). I put up with it thinking that it was a JDeveloper peculiarity. A few weeks ago my system started locking up when the Panda antivirus software was running on start up. So I stopped the service and tried to run Panda manually. It locked up. I uninstalled Panda and tried another antivirus software. It locked up. Also, my spyware program locks up and it will intermittently lock up now at other times when I'm not using any of the above software
I'm trying to get rid of abetterinternet.aurora which I believe to be some sort of adware or spyware. I get appeox123 problems from it everytime I run Spybot. Spybot get rid of the problems but they keep coming back
I recently started getting an icon that flashes in my system tray warning me about adware and spyware activity going on in my system. I emmediately purchased NORTON INTERNET SECURITY to help solve the problem. After installing and scanning the whole system and removing whatever threats norton thought there was, the icon still remains. It still flashes in my system tray.
I get the following message windows on bootup that the following can't be found and they have to be removed or added to the registry: C:Windows..Program~1Common~1Micros~1MSINFOinfo32.exe and C:Windows..Program~1Common~1Micros~1MSINFOmsinfo32.exe I also can't open Word 2000 because of a Runtime problem error message. All errors occurred at the same time. Running Win XP SP1.

When my Norton Internet Security 2005 runs a disk drive scan it locates a file it identified as Spyware in the Windows Directory. The file name is symentra .exe. I've currently blocked access to the Internet for this file but when it tries to access it just keeps trying relentlessly. Does anyone know if I need this file or is there a way to delete it?

I have XP Home and Microsoft Anti spyware found some malware (IBIS Toolbar) that was removed but on rescans, it shows up again, but now located in the restore points. I believe that I have to turn off System Restore and reboot and then turn restore back on and do a new restore point.
I was running The Cleaner for the first time and it found several files to delete that I can't seem to find on my system. It shows them to be temp files but I like to be sure so I went searching for them. They're not visible. I've enabled the see all files so it should be there. But it's not. I did however find these files and am wondering why they would be found under IE5 which I haven't used now since the rebuild. And I don't think that was even under this hard drive! Is it safe to let it delete, or is that stuff I shouldn't delete? C: Documents & Settings: User: Local Settings: Temporary Internet Files: Content.IE5: 3I1TVRX8, 4NM0HAS5, 7D8UQMOE, index.dat
Also I'm concerned by this message that keeps coming up saying Browser Help Objects have been detected - The following BHO has been added to your system: {BDF3E430~B101~42AD~A544~FADC6B084872} and I can either remove it or keep it. I ran a program called BHODemon to check it out and it found several BHO's but they were all legit. Could this all just be from a conflict from having SpywareGuard and Spybot both on my machine? Spybot seem to be going crazy asking if I want to change things. I can't stop them from popping back up when I close one another comes up. The error messages are always different too which is really confusing.
There are two excellent spyware removal apps available and they are both FREE so there is no reason to not use them regularly. The two best apps there are for removing spyware are SpyBot Search & Destroy and Ad Aware. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU USE BOTH OF THESE APPS SINCE ONE FINDS WHAT THE OTHER MISSES AND VICE VERSA, YOU ARE NOT SAFE USING JUST ONE OF THEM. There is one other app that I HIGHLY recommend is for spyware prevention, SpywareBlaster. This app sets certain registry entries that prevent spyware from ever installing, it DOES NOT run in the background using any resources, you just set it and forget it. Once you have installed these three MUST HAVE apps you then need to update them and keep them up to date. I would recommend checking for updates weekly, it’s just like your antivirus app, you need to stay protected from the latest spyware out there. To update SpyBot just open the app from your start menu (use the advanced mode option) and select “search for updates” it will then show you what updates are available for download, always install all the updates. Another feature that SpyBot has is called “Immunize”, you will see an icon for it. Select the icon and under “Permanent Internet Explorer Immunity” select “Immunize” this works in the same way as SpywareBlaster in blocking new spyware. It also gives you the option of locking your hosts file against hijackers, I highly recommend using this option as well. To update Ad Aware just open it and select “Check for updates now”. For SpywareBlaster it is mostly the same, open it up and select “Check for updates” once you update this you then must select “select all” and then “Protect against checked items” so that the updates you just did take effect. Anything these apps find is spyware and should be removed, if you choose not to remove what is found then you have no one to blame if your pc crashes due to spyware or your privacy is invaded (including these companies stealing your credit card number and identity
I'm experienceing problems running the internet. Each time I try connecting tho the Net, despite changing the default homepage which has been changed to c:secure32.html I get a warning message about spyware I have also run Spybot Search and Destroy and the Lavasoft Ad-ware and removed all of the critical objects.
My PC is infected with some bad stuff and I'm not sure what to do. So far I have tried to run Spybot S&D, Registry mechanic, ewido anti-spyware, Spyware Doctor and SpywareBlaster all of these programs seize when carrying out a scan and I have no option but to close the pc down with the power button. I am pretty much at a loss as what to do next and was hoping one of you kind souls could help me. I am running xp.

What is the best software to get rid of adware and/or viruses. I have done everything, I have norton and spy ware, but it seems all temp files are locked and I can not get rid of the. This happened going to a site to sell a motocycle and this si slowing my system down.
I have spybot, Ad-Aware SE, a2 squard, Norton antiVirus, CW Shredder and Just Downloaded Spyware Doctor. All updated. Ran all and none of them found anything except Ad Aware found Data Miners and tracking cookies. Got rid of them. Then I ranSpyware Doctor and it came up with these.
Out of nowhere in the C drive come these folders. They are named FOUND.000 on up through FOUND.025. Inside the folders are various numbers of files that are named in this way FILE0000.CHK, FILE0001.CHK, FILE0002.CHK. what are they and what should I do?
I'v recently had a lot of virus, spam, adware problems with my pc. After a vain attempt to clean it up I reinstalled the OS. Now whenever I try to access my old desctop/my documents folder I get an 'access is denied' error. It is an NTFS file system.
I had some malware or adware that I got rid of , I think. In the process, I may have made a mess of things and now I have this blue screen appearing regularly with the message: "page_fault_in_nonpaged_ area " along with some instructions to disable bios memory options such as caching and shadowing and it often reloads. There are also some 0x00000050 type numbers that change each time.I also upgraded to service pack 3 with no change.I can usually hit function 8 and I am back in business unless I let the machine sit idle when the blue screen reappears. I reinstalled XP with no different results.
