My PC is infected with some bad stuff and I'm not sure what to do. So far I have tried to run Spybot S&D, Registry mechanic, ewido anti-spyware, Spyware Doctor and SpywareBlaster all of these programs seize when carrying out a scan and I have no option but to close the pc down with the power button. I am pretty much at a loss as what to do next and was hoping one of you kind souls could help me. I am running xp.
I dled a game and installed (gta VC) and also installed "the all seeying eye" and "MTA version(i dont know)", during playing the game i encountered this massive lag/frame-skip every/approx 10 secs, i exited the game and found that the lag/frame-skip still continued, i reseted my computer and to find it was resloved, where after about 30-40 mins the continous lag came back, its starts of as small frameskips to over a long period of time (1 hour) unbearable frame skip as if the computer is running at full. I did a virus scan, adware scan, spy doctor scan, cws shredder scan and a hijack this scan. Only Spyware doctor found 700 things that it removed the most threatening thing a browser changing trojan/hijack thingy, still my comp has the constant lag/frameskip.
i was registering spyware doctor (pirately) but when i registered it required to reboot then the problem started when i got the blue bar of windows xp moving then suddenly my pc restared itself then whenever it comes to the blue bar it gets restarted. and also i tried to make a windows MS DOS startup disk but it won't help i also uninstalled Spyware Doctor and quick heal internet security ( i did this in the directory services repair mode) i also performed chkdsk/:f
now when the pc starts it comes to the blue bar and suddenly a blue screen appears and it says STOP 0x00000024 (0x001902FE, 0xF7A5747C, 0xF7A57178, 0x84469889)
I currently have Zone Alarm Internet Security Suite 6 & it is due to expire in about 8 days. I was wondering what others of you used for anti-virus, anti-spyware, firewalls etc.I have heard that sometimes it's not the best idea to use a complete package, like ZA internet security suite, for the whole lot You hear a lot of conflicting info about them all, I've heard that AVG is good, Norton isn't, someone said windows defender was good.
I've got a PC with Win XP SP2. I'm currently using Etrust antivirus and Windows Defender on it. But, I'm suspecting it's got virus and/or spyware that those two softwares are not detecting. Can anyone recommend me other good anti-spyware and antivirus software (preferably free)?

I had a message that my PC is infected by Spyware/adware this morning and it took me to PSGuard.com to install something to disinfect my PC. is it OK to use this or should I use something else?
I've been using MS Anti-Spyware Beta 1 for several weeks. Recently, when trying to update, the program says it downloads and installs updates but when I check for future updates the same one supposedly already downloaded and installed shows up again. For example, I got to definitions 5729, but 5733 was but wasn't installed several times; and then it was 5735 the same. So I uninstalled the program and downloaded and reinstalled it. Now I have definitions 5725 and have tried without success to download and install 5735 several times. Anyone got any ideas what the problem might be? I also have Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D, Bazooka, and Spyware Blaster.

I ran some anti-spyware progams the other day and ever since, upon startup, I get an error message stating:"Error loading C:program filesWildTangentAppsCDAcdaEngine0400.dll The specified module could not be found." Is this file critical? How can I either repair this or elominate the error message? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am using Windows XP, Explorer 6.At times I can hear something running and slows down or even stops what ever I am doing at the time.Sometimes just for a couple seconds but sometimes longer.Last night it ran for a longer period of time so I went Ctr/Alt/delete processes.I found that the svchost.exe system memory usage was running around 50,000 and normally it is around 19,500.I do not have any scans set to run automatic and the only thing that I have running all the time is Super Anti Spyware.
I decided to try the Avira Personal Free Anti-Virus on my computer. Well, in the main inferface it only says that anti-virus is on, but i dont see anything about anti-spyware on. However on the website it says the free version gives anti-spyware so I am guessing in the program when it says Anti-Virus, it means anti-virus and anti-spyware right? On the website i saw it did say is gives both. Please help as if it has no anti-spyware, then i wont use it.
There is a computer at home which is booting very slowly now. Besides doing the regular checks (anti-spyware/malware, HijackThis, etc.) I want to be able to look at a log (or a log viewer) after boot to know exactly what in the boot process is taking so long, what exactly is being run/loaded and how long it is taking. Is there a way I can see that in Windows? Or any reliable Freeware/Shareware tool?
I tried to start it up and it takes forever to load. It takes a couple of minutes to open any of the icons on the desktop too (Mozilla, Word). I tried to clean up as best I could. I ran some spyware programs and antivirus and nothing too much showed up -- no viruses. It takes so long to run these programs that I go off and do other stuff and come back hours later and the scans are still running! Is there anything that you can recommend to get the laptop running as it should?
I have XP Home and Microsoft Anti spyware found some malware (IBIS Toolbar) that was removed but on rescans, it shows up again, but now located in the restore points. I believe that I have to turn off System Restore and reboot and then turn restore back on and do a new restore point.
My HP Pavilion a1530n Windows XP D820 Processor 1024 MB Memory 250 GB Hard Drive Desk Top Comp is under attack and locked down unable to function due to "Antivirus Soft". I came to my Laptop because nothing is working on desktop downloaded to a flash memory stick and dropped it to desktop. Still unable to click and function a scan..
There are two excellent spyware removal apps available and they are both FREE so there is no reason to not use them regularly. The two best apps there are for removing spyware are SpyBot Search & Destroy and Ad Aware. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU USE BOTH OF THESE APPS SINCE ONE FINDS WHAT THE OTHER MISSES AND VICE VERSA, YOU ARE NOT SAFE USING JUST ONE OF THEM. There is one other app that I HIGHLY recommend is for spyware prevention, SpywareBlaster. This app sets certain registry entries that prevent spyware from ever installing, it DOES NOT run in the background using any resources, you just set it and forget it. Once you have installed these three MUST HAVE apps you then need to update them and keep them up to date. I would recommend checking for updates weekly, it’s just like your antivirus app, you need to stay protected from the latest spyware out there. To update SpyBot just open the app from your start menu (use the advanced mode option) and select “search for updates” it will then show you what updates are available for download, always install all the updates. Another feature that SpyBot has is called “Immunize”, you will see an icon for it. Select the icon and under “Permanent Internet Explorer Immunity” select “Immunize” this works in the same way as SpywareBlaster in blocking new spyware. It also gives you the option of locking your hosts file against hijackers, I highly recommend using this option as well. To update Ad Aware just open it and select “Check for updates now”. For SpywareBlaster it is mostly the same, open it up and select “Check for updates” once you update this you then must select “select all” and then “Protect against checked items” so that the updates you just did take effect. Anything these apps find is spyware and should be removed, if you choose not to remove what is found then you have no one to blame if your pc crashes due to spyware or your privacy is invaded (including these companies stealing your credit card number and identity

The Trojan.Downloader.zlob.abt Trojan.Fake.alert.eb... Are both on my sys. but according to Bit Defender, "they're causing no harm to my sys." I presume that means they are quaranteed. I've run SpySweeper and a couple others and have been unable to turn either one up. Nor can I locate them in Google. My questions are, how can I get them off my sys.
