I was trying to download this game called gunbound. I dont know how this file got this way. But basically it's called Gunbound_GIS_WC_542.exe.
It shows an MS DOS Icon in properties.
I tried deleting it in ms dos, it says it couldn't find it.
Can i create a file which is undeletable?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI made a folder (right click/new folder) on my desktop and used it to keep some files I received organized. When I was done with the job, I erased everything and when I went to delete the folder, it tells me: Cannot delete file: Cannot read from the source file or disk.
I have tried deleting it on boot (?) but those programs only delete files not folders.
i've duplicate folders in certain folders but i can't delete them, the folder has the same name but under it there is a detail "gy". the folder shape is slight bigger and straight. what to do?

It contained quite a lot of data and now it says that it contains 0 files.I have tried programs like deleteatboot and unlock, but its still there. I can drag and drop files into the folder but then that file just dissapear and the folder still says 0 files and 0 bytes.I can also move the folder.

Basically, the folder can't be deleted, and it's contents can't be opened. Its properties say that it's empty but it's not.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThe utility I use on my computer (a 3GHz P4 running Win XP) is SystemSuite 7. Like all utilities, it has a registry cleaner. However, every time I do a registry cleanup, four keys show up as empty and are automatically checked by the program for deletion, but when I hit the "Next" button to delete everything that's checked, those four keys cannot be deleted because "Access is denied". As I say, all are reported by SystemSuite as empty. I've checked them and they are indeed empty. I tried booting into Safe Mode as Administrator to delete them using regedit, but access is also denied in Safe Mode. How can I get rid of these? SHOULD I get rid of them (i.e., even though empty, do they server some obscure purpose)?

However, after downloading not only would the file not play using media player, but I could not delete the file from the "My Music" file. Right click gave only the options to "Play", "Add to media player playlist", or "Open With...." and the toolbar was likewise useless.

I find there are a couple left over that wont let me delete them. They are ZTR21E.tmp and ZTR224.tmp.
I receive an error message:
Cannot delete ZTR21E.tmp: Access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write protected and
that the file is not currently in use. (There are no programs open and the Task Manager confirms that.)
Today I downloaded a software called "spaceMonger" and explored my C drive (Not rooot drive) for the disc space usages..I got some huge files under Recycler and deleted em.But, There were some folders that software reffered as UNSCANNABLES.

However now I seem to have ended up with a few corrupt Folders/Files.Whenever I try to run a Norton Antivirus scan or any number of Spyware removal programs such as Spybot, Spysweeper, Ewido, Ad-Aware etc they all get stuck or crash on one particular general data Folder. When I try to do so from Explorer I get the message Cannot delete file: Cannot read from the source file or disk. When I click on one of them 7Zip lists them with all their properties, but when I try to delete from there I get the same message. I recently had to do a system restore and now my .jpg and jpeg files have a bad file icon. They still do open with the windows pic program as I want them to - but only on the admin accout, I usually surf and play and do everything else with a user account, and even if I reset everything under folder options for the file associacions it somehow doesn't apply to the other account.
windows tells me in the file association menu that I changed the file association's properties and can set them back to standart "photo suite 6" - a program that I uninstalled ages ago
I read the advice to start in safe mode to delete files that gave the errror message cannot delet file - source file not found. They wouldn't delete in Safe Mode either. I am trying to delete mp3 from my c drive because I have an external disk where I have my music library. I can delete them one at a time without getting the error message but not a bunch of them. Some of them I have been able to delete in a bunch.

I am not sure how far the direcroty goes, but I have counted to at least 26 directories deep. I cannot delete the parent folder in either explorer, or from the prompt. At the prompt I have tried RD foldername and it says, "Folder not empty". Tried del foldername*.* with no error and still cannot delete it.

I was doing some detailed drawings in photoshop, and I also had a generic photo up in photoshop as well. I went to save my drawings, but apparently accidentally saved the photo under the drawins name and then closed the program. This morning I discovered the bad news. When I right click a par2 & select "open with", it defaults to the wrong program, and the correct one (Quick Par) is not listed. When I try using the browse option from this point, it ignores my selection of Quick Par's .exe. When I go to WE/tools/folder options file types, I get the same dialogues with the same result. When I try to delete the par2 association from here, hoping to reset it the file to the right priogram, the delete button is dimmed. If I open Quick par & select the file in question, it performs normally, but I want the much more convenient right click context menu option. How can I associate these files with Quick Par, which the pc seems determined to ignore?
