Repeatedly receiving access violation error and kernal32 dll errors. Als0 unable to open any help files and computer hangs frequently. There are periods on nonresponsiveness with a sudden return to commands. I am running AVG 7.5 Suite, Counterspy, Threatfire, and do frequent scans with other antivirus and malware tools.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi was just about to start up a game call EverQuest 2, whats besides the point, my mouse started lagging around, and my system became VERY slow, so i decided to restart my computer.My computer started up as normal, then when Windows XP started up (where the little bar goes across the screen to show the progress) became stop and go, in which it usually takes 15-30 seconds to start up, too 15-30 minutes! now when my computer started it was rather slow, but once a message popped up, the speed fine. The Message was the following"Failure to run NvCpl.dll Error performing inpage operation".It seemed to do be the library of my NVidia drivers. so i popped in the disks and reinstalled everything, now when i start up my comp, i dont get the error message, but my computer still takes forever to startup, i also, through all of this, can't open and folder, play any media file, get into my computer or control panel, or ANYTHING, pretty much what i can open is internet explorer, mozzilla firefox, and Run CommandsIt is a bit odd, because since i have EverQuest 2 on schedualed tasks it open when i log on, but it opens and doesn't proceed (it first scans file for the launcher incase of a change in coding or graphics, then loads up the launcher) but it doesn't proceed at all, i can download items, and i pretty sure i will be able.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have been experience this for a long time now. When i switch my computer on it loads up my screansaver but not the toolbar. It doesn't do it at its own time because i left it on for 24 hours to see if it was running slow, but it just didn't load up. I have to run bit torrent through task manager and right click a program i downloaded, then click open containing folder to load the toolbar up. Any ideas on how to fix this, so it will boot up with the pc?of all, i can't run any programs with my pc. It loads the egg timer but then stops and doesn't load up. Has done this for a while also. I can't access any of my control panels either
View 9 Replies View RelatedUsing Windows XP Home/SP2 on a Compaq laptop.Automatic updates have been happening regularly. I am running AVG Antivirus (free version) on it.
I was running a financial package i.e. a programme of writing account books i.e. Tally version 5.4 on it. It has been running fine for last two years. Now after two three months, when I tried to use it, it opened up and closed down on my face immediately. I kept on trying to run it and it gave me message:
"WTALLY caused an access violation in ntdll.dll at 0x7c911404.
Click on Close to terminate
Click on cancel to debug
Click on Ignore to Continue, you should save your work in a new file."
I clicked on ignore but it halted and ultimately I had to either canel it or close it. Yes out of twelve thirteen times of my attempts to run it, made it run only for once. After that the result is the same.
This programme runs in Safe Mode.
I think, the problem could be because of automatic updates. Some update has put a patch or like that on some file which has caused erratic or restrained working of some component.
I checked I have ntdll.dll file in my windows's system directory and two more places. And from one site, I downloaded the ntdll.dll file but has not replaced the one in my system. My second question is :
HOW safe it is to replace ntdll.dll with the new file I downloaded from the net.
receiving an error message box when I close any site The error, It says below debug then send report and don't send report. Sometimes this happens but rarely when I am surfing the site.

Click on OK to terminate the application.After I click ok, I then receive the 1st error again, I click ok, receive 1st error again, I click ok, receive the 2nd error, click ok, receive the 3rd error again, click ok, receive the 4th error, click ok, receive the 5th error, click ok, receive the 1st error, click ok and then it takes me to my desktop. View 14 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if someone could help me with a little problem I have. When I install service pack 2 or anything past sp2, it does something with my video card. Normally everything runs fine until I try to play one of my PC games (for instance Half Life 2) then either the computer freezes up, or the monitor goes black and stops receiving a signal from the video card. I know that it's not a hardware issue because running off of a fresh windows install with no updates and sp1 everything's fine, but sp2 or later causes problems with my video card, I've tried updating everything (windows, hardware etc....) nothing works except running it with no updates and sp1, and as you know you cannot run much without sp2 at least. Any help would be appreciated, I've also attached a .txt with my specs from dxdiag.

There are system boxes coming up with registry and dll errors and the whole system seems SLOW.
The family computer is playing up and to the best of my knowledge the computer in question just simply suddenly stopped working as it should. I am unable to get the 'default' welcome screen upon start up and am getting the logon box where you type in a username and passworld. I know how to get rid of this, user accounts>enable welcome screen - but it will not solve the problem.This is just the start of the problems. I get a whole host of errors which popup one after another.

I brought her computer home to use for my school work. Someone signed into the Administrative / Owner name and somehow locked it. We don't have one of those password reset disk that the Windows website says. I have a disk that says "Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition System Recovery CD/DVD" I was told if I reinstalled Windows on the computer that it would erase the entire harddrive. There are alot of pictures on the computer, not to mention Microsoft Office, that I don't want to lose. My mom passed away suddenly and while I know her other passwords, this one is different which leads me to believe one of my younger cousins was messing with her computer and did something they didn't mean.Is there anyway possible to reset the password and use the computer without losing all the pictures on it?

View 7 Replies View Relatedi just installed a fresh winxp pro, i did not set any password so the windows starts up without asking password, so i believed i have the administrative rights i have 2 local drives (c:) and (d:) i run gpedit.msc and configure the following:
1. remove run in start menu
2. remove search in start menu
3. prohibit command prompt to be use
4. Prevent access to drive access from my computer (drive c: only)
5. Hide specific drive in my computer (drive c: only)
i closed gpedit.msc now i cant re-run gpedit.msc to configure my settings again because i cannot access drive c: where gpedit resides (c:windowssystem32gpedit.msc) i dont want to re-install the whole thing or to start all over again. winxp expert
I did a terrible mistake today. Typically I install XP in C drive and keep My Documents folder in D drive. All of my hard disk drives (except the linux partitions) are NTFS. I encrypted the My Documents folder and all of its files and subfolders.Today I reinstalled XP in the C drive, after a quick format on it. I was unaware of the fact that what might be happened to My Documents folder. Now I can only view the files and folders inside My Documents folder. Neither I open any file, nor I decrypt those files. Windows is saying access denied.

I ran a windows recovery on my HardDrive yesterday - I selected NOT to delete any of my files.Now Ive set windows all up again, and I cannot access my documents. Firstly when i right click on the my documents folder it says 'empty', but when i try to double click it it gives me a 'cant access' error.My hard disk is showing on 1.8 Gb remaining, so my documents are still there somewhere, i just dont know how to access them?
