Some Address Doesn't Delete From Address Bar
Oct 17, 2005after every use of internet i delete history,cookies and files by using internet option(tool menu)but some address stays and they never get delete please can somebody tell how to delete those from address bar.

Dec 17, 2007On my XP Pro box, I need to be able to give individual folders and it's sub folders a single view type. So if my folders looked something like:

I need a way to apply the view settings (ie, thumbnail, details, list icons etc) to only folder 1 AND all the sub folders without it affecting Folder 2 and 3. Also, is there a way to apply the type of columns for the folder when using the details view.
Ethernet Card Shows Broadcast Address As Physical Address
Aug 14, 2008I am running xp pro. I can not get an internet connection through my ethernet card. When I hook up my modem through usb it works fine but unable to utilize my full download speed capabilities. Hooked the modem up via ethernet to laptop and it worked just fine. The only thing I can find wrong that I don't know how to fix or what is causing it is the fact that the physical address of the card comes up as the broadcast address (FF-FF-FF-FF-FF-FF). Very strange.

I have the folder in the details view, and know how to change which details it shows, but can't for the life of me figure out how to actually change the individual details of each folder. eg add the 'Year' detail column, how do I input the year for each folder? this seems like the most obvious, simple thing but is alluding me at the moment.

and after I selected the photos, I was asked if I wanted to resize them, and
then after I e-mailed them, the photos always appeared in the e-mail once it
was opened (not as an attachment). Now I use Outlook, and when I try to send
the photos from "My Photos" folder, they are sent as attachments, and they
are not viewable in the actual e-mail. I have searched for a setting to
change this, but I can't find any. Does anyone know how I can send multiple
photos in an e-mail using Outlook, so that they can be viewed as soom as the
e-mail is opened, rather than having to download and open each individual
photo as an attachment?

Aug 5, 2005I opened my computer and decided to goto internet through the my computer window. So I pressed home button of my key board so the My Computer window converted to a web page. But after that the address bar disappeared. I closed the window and restart the machine and opened the internet explorer, but still address bar is missing. I checked under the tools and I can see the tick infront of the address bar.

Registry Backup Utility To Reinstall Individual Entries
Apr 27, 2008I use acronis as a restore tool and have never had a problem restoring the entire operating system. I had this individual program that was corrupted and I reinstalled it from the image I made using acronis. However, the program failed to appear in the add/remove section of windows. I beleive that I have to manually reinstall the registry entry of the program in order for it to appear in the add/remove section. My question is: is there a registry backup utility that'll let me reinstall individual entries? Something that's a no-brainer also as I'm not completely comfortable fooling around with the registry.

Sep 6, 2009I am looking for a good utility that monitors live individual IP network usage. I run a game server and when people use certain hacks their IP network usage climbs significantly. I use comodo internet security which will tell you IP usage in active network connections but the list isnt sortable and the active connections are lost in a long list of closed connections. I was using netpeeker to view the connected IPs usage but it was incompatible with comdodo and resulted in all large file downloads failing. Is there a utility that can do this without conflicting with comodo? I dont need any bandwidth limiting or anything I am just trying to identify IPs that have usage spikes.

Oct 12, 2006We have run across a problem here with APIPA addressing. After we install Windows updates, Windows assigns an APIPA address in the 169.254.x.x range, instead of getting an address from the DHCP server. The effect is that the computer loses connectivity with the network and the Internet. You can confirm this problem by running an IPCONFIG and checking for an address in the 169.254 range.
Releasing and renewing the address does not correct the problem. Assigning a static IP address resolved the issue. Searching the Microsoft Knowledge Base, we found a registry hack that will disable APIPA addressing on the computer, and this does correct the problem so the computer can connect to the network again. We assume that the problem is a result of an update from last Tuesday, but we have not determined which update is the problem. We are still looking. Our concern is that as DHCP leases expire with computers in the field, that this effect may appear. If you get calls for loss of network or Internet connectivity, have the user run IPCONFIG, and if they have an APIPA address, the registry hack is outlined in KB article

Mar 17, 2007I have a very large, corrupt disc image on my hard drive that I want to delete, but every time I try to delete it Windows displays the message "Cannot delete 'filename': it is being used by another person or program. Close any programs that might be using the file and try again." The disc image is not mounted with any program, and hasn't been for some time. I tried aborting random processes that I thought might have something to do with the file, as well as restarting. No matter what I do, there seems to be something using the file. Are there any tricks to getting around this so I can delete it? Can I check, somehow, to see what program is using it?

Jun 12, 2005I go to Start -> Accessorties -> Windows Explorer the normal Windows Explorer comes up fine, with the address bar, and everything the way I like it. However, if I go to Start -> Run -> Directory Name then Windows Explorer comes up and everything is cool except that there isn't an address bar!
I also use some shortcuts on my Quick Launch bar that point to folders; these also will open Windows explorer without an address bar. I've tried right clicking on the taskbad and selecting Address Bar, but it doesn't work.

Nov 11, 2008I think this happened when I ran AdAware. I cannot connect to my wireless internet had figured out that my IP ADDRESS is all zeros. I know my ip, I just don't know how to tell my computer what it is! If you cannot tell, I am barely literate in computers.
