my computer has been infected with WORM AGOBOT.UE and i cant delete it , it cant be deleted in safe mode either im using windows 2000

i can't get rid of it via virus protection and can not stand on net long enough to download updates. have downloaded several sasser removal kits but nothing works.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI know nothing about computers but my boyfriend knows a lot and this has even stumped him. I keep getting notices about having the w32.spybot.worm on my computer. We've followed the instructions on symantec for removal, didn't work. We've formatted it by deleting the partitions, still came back. Then we did a low-level format, and it still came back. The website at symantec says it comes from Kazaa?! I don't have kazaa, and never have. I run Norton virus checks and it doesn't find it, or it says it already deleted it. I search my computer and delete all the little tftp zero byte files. They keep coming back, and I don't know what to do.

The IT guy at work thinks a worm is responsible for me not being able to log onto the internet, and getting the AFD network support invalid driver messages. Norton isn't finding any virus, worm or other problems.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy aunt got hit with the W32spybot.worm. Nortons keeps popin up alertin her to it but says it cant remove it. Ive pulled up the removal instrustions online. Problem is she is more or less computer illiterate and since she lives on the other side of the country from me I cant fix it myself. I would like to avoid having to walk her through the removal over the phone since it deals with the registry and random file names, it would make it a pain to find. Are there any programs out that can remove it? Nortons will only do it part way so it re-installs after reboot.

Search & Destroy has detected an important registry item entry that has been changed. View 36 Replies View Relatedi have a packard bell laptop which is about 2.5 years old and has windows XP home pre loaded i have got infected by 3 worm viruses w32 spybot worm ,w32spybot worm KHC and trojan dropper. in an attempt to remove i decided to use the pc restore disk to restore all setting to factory settings however i have now done this twice and still appear to have the viruses is this normal or am i doing something wrong.

View 3 Replies View RelatedA client computer (XP Home) started receiving the pop-up message "DCOM NT Authority/System". And then the pop-up says you have 60 seconds until shutdown. I have used the FixBlast.exe removal tool from Symantec. I have run it in regular and safe mode and receive the message "Worm Not Found" in each. I have run a virus check using AVG and no results. I still get the message after XP starts to load. I can eliminate the message by running "shutdown -a" from the run command. Does anyone know of any other way of checking for Blaster 32 or how to get rid of the pop-up.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a very large, corrupt disc image on my hard drive that I want to delete, but every time I try to delete it Windows displays the message "Cannot delete 'filename': it is being used by another person or program. Close any programs that might be using the file and try again." The disc image is not mounted with any program, and hasn't been for some time. I tried aborting random processes that I thought might have something to do with the file, as well as restarting. No matter what I do, there seems to be something using the file. Are there any tricks to getting around this so I can delete it? Can I check, somehow, to see what program is using it?

This applies to programs, icons, photos, documents , folders etc - I cannot get to any of my work to back it up. I have tried Stinger -F-Force and W32.Blackmal@mm Removal Tools. Ran a full AVG scan with uptodate anti virus and Adaware Spyware. Sorry forgot to mention other things tried. The Pop up message does not appear in the Task Manger either as applications or processes. Each time you respongd NO to negate the delete it pops up again. There is no way I can get to any of my folders or files to burn to a CD as backup without the Confirm Delete message.

The files and folders that I am addressing are: C:WINDOWSTEMP*.* *.OLD *.CHK *.BAK ~*.* _*.* and MSCREATE.DIRI have managed to clean all but one, which is _*.* When I run the search, I get the result of 144 files. I click on edit, select all, then file, delete. I receive the following error "cannot delete file: Cannot read the source file or disk" (please view screen shot). When I right click, I have no delete option, just "open containing folder, copy, and extract. (please view screen shot). I have run AdAware, Spybot, Ewido, and Avg Free. I also have CCleaner, Easy Clean which I have run. I have also used "Move On Boot" by putting the file path in the MOB window and try to have MOB delete the file. MOB says the file will be removed on the next boot.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI replaced the hard drive on my Dell Inspiron 8200 and reinstalled XP Pro. My first attempt didn't work and I installed the OS a second time. Now when I start up I get a screen that asks me which OS I want to start in (both choices are the same - Windows XP Pro). If I select one of them Windows boots normally. If I select the bad version my system won't boot and I get an error message stating there is a "disk hardware configuration problem". How do I remove the second (bad) version of the OS so that I don't get this choice and the system will boot automatically?

The problem I am having is the home addition that is in-stalled on my computer right now was installed using a retail disc that incuded SP2. I have a older up-grade copy of Professional but It does not have SP2 included on it.
