how to resolve this virus. Everytime i type cmd in run, it automatically shutdown my pc in 1 sec. I have mcafee it detects some of the viruses but still theres a virus in my pc. i wanna know the specific name in of this virus and to resolve it.
xp pro sp2 automatic updates enabled. My computer restarts automatically after shut down. This happens sometimes immediately, sometimes after a delay of up to 10 minutes. I tried using third party shut down programs, but that did not help. However if I let the computer go into hibernate, it shuts down and does not restart. I do not have Roxio installed, and in the settings for startup and recovery the automatic restart is disabled.
For the third time in about three weeks Windows has had to shut down. The error message advises me to check for BIOS update with the hardware vendor and to disable caching and shadowing. (I checked with Dell and ran their automatic scans; they report all okay.) The details in the error message are:*** Stop: OxOOOOOO8E (OXCOOOOOO5), OXBF90714C, OxB31149F8, OxOOOOOOOO *** Win32k.sys Address BF90714C base at BF 8000000, Datestamp 49e87572 I do not know what this means, what it might be telling me about my system, nor do I know what I should do about it
Like lots of other people my computer wouldn't shutdown automatically after shutting down windows xp...I tried enabling APM, but then the computer wouldn't shutdown at all, and just restarted all the time. so I always had to manually turn off my computer when the "It is now safe to turn off your computer" screen came up. Well I fixed this problem, and came across the solution, for me accidently. I went to Device Manager, then to View then Show Hidden Devices, then you look on the list for NT Apm/Legacy Support. Under that is NT Apm/Legacy Interface Node. I found that this driver was disabled. Why, I'm not too sure, but I enabled it and now when I shut down windows, my computer turns off automatically. I went into power management and the APM was also activated/enabledIt must do this when you enable the driver.
My PC is shutting down very frequently with a dialog box giving a message some thing like this:he action is initiated by NT AUHORITYSYSTEM C:Windowssystem32lsass.exe interrupted unexpectedly With code -1073741819I am using OS Windows XP Professional edition And Norton Antivirus with automatic update In last half an hour it has popped up a message more than 20 times telling that it has found and deleted a virus from my system
I have a Dell Dimension 8400 running windows xp home. 2.99GHZ processor and 58 GB free space left. My problem: My computer automatically goes into hibernation mode and will not start up again for at least 5-10 minutes after. It gives no warning whatsoever when this happens. I'm risking it happening right now. I have the computer set to stay on at all times. All power options are set to "never" turn off.
I'm new to this site and I'm not very tech savy, but anyways I'm running a basic, older model e-machines computer with windows xp sp3. When I turn it on it gives me a couple of choices; start windows normally, start in safe mode, last configuration that worked etc. Anyway I've tried all of them and the same thing happens, it goes to the boot screen for a few seconds and then it shuts off, anyone know about this problem? .
upon start of my windows xp pro a runtime routine starts with the command looking somehow like this:shutdown -t-g 00 -f.Before I can even react the computer shuts down. Any idea how i can get this strange command out?Now i read also an exe file "soundman.exe" which looks strange to me..... but not much more i can see - all happens too quick,Already tried system reset, repair of xp via disk, update to sp2..... the command remains in place. Need to get it out somehow diffenrtly.
Any idea why my PC running on Windows XP occassionally reboots while I am in the middle of something? It does not seem to be associated with any particular programme, and neither AVG nor Spybot pick up any viruses etc, although Spybot does pick up a change in the registery after rebooting (should I allow the change?).
i remote into my XP box everything is fine except when i shut down using a shutdown shortcut and other shutdown utilities no matter what after i get booted off the remote session the computer looks like its shutting down then stays on for a few seconds then a BSOD appear. I have been trying to figure out why for the past week and no solution so im hoping someone can chime in..The problem is only on remote if i shut down locally never a single BSOD and no hardware has changed. No driver issues. ive read and tried all the usual solutions. Need someone here to chime in on specifics.Ive also tried to remote in with bare minimum and no go. same thing.
This is weird. I have to go through the shutdown procedure twice, i.e., Start/Shut Down/Shut Down and click Ok, then Start/Shut Down/Shut Down and click Ok again. It will then shutdown properly. The same thing happens when I try to "Restart." After doing the first shutdown sequence, everything is normal. I can open programs, surf the web, etc. It's as if I never tried to shut it down at all. Only after the second shutdown procedure will it shutdown fully. One note: When I go through the first shutdown sequence, my taskbar pops up and the desktop is darkened. After clicking Ok, the taskbar autohides and my desktop returns to its normal color.I have only had this problem for the last month or two. Before that, all was fine. It's not critical since I can shut it down. It's just annoying to have to do it twice.I have Windows 2000 Pro, SP4, build 5.00.2195.
When attempting to "shutdown" or "reboot", I have to do it twice. When I select "Start" then either shutdown or reboot, my desktop will flicker a couple of times, and then nothing appears to happen. I must select "start" again and then either shutdown or reboot and then they will work as expected.
I have searched around a bit to see if others have ran into this problem, but I have had no luck so far. When I start my computer, it pops up with the standard menu it uses when an OS error has caused a restart. I can't get it too load windows using safe mode, last known good configuration, or normal mode. I never even see the windows loading screen, it restarts immediately.
Does any computer wiz out there know of an anti-virus site that will remove the rojan horse virus free? I know that all downloads are free, but once they find all the infected files, they won't remove them with out u paying for them
There is little to no information on this little guy, but it looks like xcechinu.dll is a Virus, if this is legitimate or not, but I cant remove it with anything that i have at the moment
My PC recently got a fairly nasty virus (W32-Sinowal-based Maximus! or something along those lines) so we had to get it wiped. A few days later, my computer was all messed up again. I can only boot up in Safe Mode, my sound doesn't work, and it is running slower than normal. I need to find out if I have another virus (although the guy who fixed it downloaded Norton Anti-Virus and it seemed fine for a few days) or if maybe my computer is just dying. It's about three years old and apparently it was outdated before we even bought it. Is there any way the virus could have affected the computer's hard drive or whatever (yeah, I don't quite know what I'm talking about) or have I maybe gotten another virus?
I had a trojan Virus in the computer. I think that I got rid of it, but I am not sure could anyone that can read a log please tell me if there is anything else left in the computer. The computer now doesn't stay on-line it disconnects itself. I called the company that provides me with my internet service, and they said that I need a filter for the phone line. The person told me that, that will take care of the problem of the internet disconnecting. I think that it could be the virus I had in the computer. I wasn't able to get on-line for at least a week, I had gone and checked the disk for errors and finally the anti-virus program was able to find the virus's.
My anti-virus software keeps on detecting some virus from different folders from the C:WINDOWS emp folder, yet all folders are empty. It detects trojans from those empty folders . All folders from the temp folder are empty. Can't I just delete it all?
A few days back I noticed my Anti Virus was automatically disabled. It usually runs continously in the background but of late it was being disabled.I tried re installing but it was of no use. Now I find that a suspcious program 'Form1' is running when I use alt+tab.Could not find this on the task manager though When I try to run anti virus scans / Spybot / Ewido, my computer just freezes after starting the scan!I know somethings wrong but I dont know what
I recently was infected with a computer virus. Norton AntiVirus 2003 initially caught the virus and it supposedly deleted it, so I was not concerned with the message details. However, almost immediately after receiving the message I realized the virus was not completely removed. A DOS window popped up two or three times and then Norton shutdown. I tried opening Norton again but it would not open. I then tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it would not reinstall. I tried the Windows Update site and the page shows no conent. Any ideas on how to identify the virus so I can take steps to remove it?
I'm in need for a good antivirus program that don't take up much resources and works, right now i have mcafee virus scan but for some reason it sometiems disable it self so some suggestions? anything free is welcome, but if something is really good i'd buy it

Its a headache installaing all the applications all over again once the system has crashed or if i need to do a clean install. So, i wish to know if i can get a program or a method to create an automated recovery from an image tat is present in another partion. Can it be added to the Boot menu or start automated recovery with shortcut key? it should not ask for any CD or anything of tat sort during recovery.
A family member was surfing the net for a television program she missed and a box popped up stating she had a virus. I never heard of it I guess it's some sort of spyware..
I got this weird little pain in the butt virus. symptoms are similiar to that of virus burster. Random annyoing popups trying to get you to install things. i checked my add/remove and i cant find any trace of it... im completely clueless. did virus scans and it deleted all infected files
