I use internet explorer of xp pro.I use too Microsoft java virtualmachine which is combined with xp.I notice that some images (speciallyof some forums)never shown.I have instead of images red crosses.Idecide to use Java virtual machine of SUN and when i use them,theimages are fine but i cannot use DJChat.Now i use Microsoft virtualmachine and update it(if it is updated really after what happenendbetween Microsoft and SUN),but still some images with red crosses
I can't install JAVA on my computer. I get error 1722 from java. I have followed everything on the page regarding how to get around this problem but with no success. I have checked into everything I can think of so that I can view images in my e-mail and on e-card websites.I have also downloaded netscape but it is the same there.I have a Dell Dimension 4600 Series desktop computer.I use Windows XP, Norton SystemWorks Premier 2005. I have Spyware Blaster, Pop Up blocker and a firewall.I have gone to each of these and checked anything that would prevent being able to view images.I get a blank bacground with a tiny square with a red x in it. I did a system restore due to a Trojan virus about 2 weeks ago, and nothing now shows up in my scans
I have tried endless # of times but whenever i try to download/install Java, the installation thing starts and then almost within 20 seconds I get a dialog box with the following text:

System: Dell Inspiron 9300 2Ghz Centrino w/ 2G memory Window XP Pro with SP2 I believe. Brand new system out of the box preloaded from vendor not Dell, but an integrator.
I have tried to load Adobe from the web and manual download file. XP just sits there and looks at me. NOTHING.
Sun Java 1.5 from web says load active X control (yellow bar at top of browser) click on it and windows Installer Window opens says preparing to install and stays there forever. Multiple JAVA.exe sessions running in task manager and ca not end task with any of them.
I don't know where to put this topic. But alright so basically yesterday I started having this problem. When I go to anything that uses Java such as Geocities my computer starts making a chugging noise and the browser (IE or Firefox) crashes. It brings up one of those senseless error messages about something failing. I'd look now but it'd close this screen. I tried uninstalling Java but when I try uninstalling the JS2E Runtime Enviroment 5.0 Update 5 it won't let me uninstall either. It makes the same noise and freezes up the window. What in the hell do I do? I've never had a problem quite like this.

I have a friend that I am trying to help and I am stumped. Her sister downloaded a program and every since then she can't access pogo.com. It gives her the following error.applet(s) in this HTML page requires a version of java different from the one the browser is currently using in order to run the apple(s) in this HTML page, a new browser session is I had her click ok to start a new session and still a don't work. I check her java version and it is up to date. I then had her clear her temp file and cookies. Still won't work.
I'm using Windows XP and I've just realised that recently all the pictures I've saved have been in Bitmap fromat and usually the default extension it saves to is JPEG. It doesn't even give me the JPEG option now. I have to convert all my images from Bitmap to JPEG via Paint. Coz some pictures are riduculously big on bitmap like 40MB when its 1MB on Jpeg.

So I was installing windows xp on a dell 4300, I was basically done when suddenly the monitor went black and said it can't display the content (dell E207WFP anyways, I tried some other old 15" dell monitor lcd, same problem. I am repairing the installation now, but I have no idea how to fix the problem if I can't see the screen. I had printer sharing set up the first time everything went smoothly. I have 2 pc's on a network 1 is xp home the other xp pro. I had to do a clean reinstall of my operating system on xp pro.Now I've right clicked on my printer on xp home entered the printers name as printer 1. When I go to my other computer and run the wizard I get a box come up saying printer and underneath a larger box.What have I got to put in the printer box my printer is a Lexmark X1100 Series.In the lower box this is where I have had printer names appearing in the past although mine was'ent there I am now getting 'Microsoft windows network' coming up.When i click on the next button I get 'you need to specify a valid printer name.
i have an hp 532w, It came with windows xp home edition on it. recently I used a Dell version of Windows XP Pro and installed it over my hp home edition. I lost my sound and when I look at my device manager i see a little yellow flag by my multi media controller. If I try to Upgrade the driver I get the blue screen of death. I tried to reistall my origanial operating system, from my 8 recovery disks it won't let me. I trie booting from it and it won't let me. It sez I'm missing (windowsroot) system32hal.dll.
I was trying to reinstall windows xp home editon because my computer was infected with a virus that could not be deleted even after trying norotn and mcafee. The CD-Rom drives were deleted from the virus,so I had to transfer the xp cd files from one computer to the infected computer through a direct transfer cable During the xp installation, the computer hung and showed a black screen when installing the devices. Now everytime I start the computer up it goes straght into setup and shows a black screen.The CD-Rom drives do not work pressing delete during start-up will not access the BIOS.It seems I cannot flash the BIOS.How do I cancel the xp setup?
I need to do an XP repair install on my Dell Dimension 8400 to fix several programs that no longer work (Update being the biggest problem). I had used this Forum a couple of months ago and doing the repair install was the recommended solution. I have a copy of the michaelstevenstech.com directions so I know what to do. Unfortunately, when I try to launch the "to setup Windows XP, press enter" step, the program comes back with an error message saying the hard drive is not found.
I think I need to change my operating system! I have a Compaq Armada E500 laptop, 4GB, 2.81 GB of used space, 1.18 GB of free space, running on "Windows 2000 Professional" ("Built on NT technology"). I'm having problems downloading certain softwares, it seems "Windows 2000 Professional" just doesn't let me do it. Plus, I've found there's other things I just can't do with it. I've been told Windows 98 is the best way to go for me + it'll free up some more space (you can see my laptop has very little space) + it'll let me download the softwares I need with no problem.
The computer uses XP home and is set for automatic updates.Every time I switch off it says it is installing update 1 of 1 even if I have not been connected to the net.When I tried using manual update I was told that the installation of <Windows Installer 3.1> had failed.Is the computer trying to install this same thing every time?If it is how do I get it to install properly or remove it from the list of programs ready to be installed?I think that when I installed the drivers for the motherboard this installer, or an earlier version, was installed by the Intel download.
