My C:/ folder just pops up when I log onto my user for no aparent reason.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have this wierd problem of a folder opening with every windows startup. The folder is C:Program Filesone.com. The folder and files within are not malware or anything, just some little games that came with my computer that I never got rid of. It is not in my startup folder. I have never run any of the games and don't even remember opening that folder before this started happening.

View 2 Replies View RelatedEverytime I start my computer the C:Program FilesCommon folder opens! It's so annoying. I have looked at other posts and have tried the Start-Run-misconfig-Check startup tab but this folder is not listed. There
are some programs within the common files folder that are listed, but not the simple file path I wrote above.
Recently my computer folder automatically opens at startup. I've tried going to msconfig and regedit to fix the problem per the instructions I've seen on the web but it doesn't work.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhenever I startup my laptop, the "C:Program FilesDell" folder opens automatically. I've had this pc for years but this started happening only recently. I don't know what could've changed, but it is very annoying and I need to find a way to make it stop. I've been searching various sites all over the net, and so far I have tried messing with "msconfig" and "Regedit.exe," among other things, and the problem still exists. Please contact me if anyone knows how to resolve this issue.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get rid of a window that loads after users login to the network-win2k AD. Running Kix for the login script. The c:winntsystem32 window opens to the middle of the screen after some people log in. I have checked the machines with adware programs and the virus scan is up to date. I can not figureout why this window is still loading after login. There is no error generated in Event Viewer or problem created when it does this it is just very annoying.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI happen to notice the size of the WindowsSystem32 folder to be a surprising 892 MB. Checking the size of the Windows folder showed a 383 GB size on disk. Aren't these numbers a tad on the large side? Is my system failing to purge trash and temp files by attaching some strange extention on files? Are log files ever labled as anything other than .log? Or temp files ever something besides .tmp? Fellow tech freaks, I await thy wisdom. If I'm just being paranoid, and my OS folders aren't bloated, please pass on anything I can do to keep an eye out for commonly overlooked bad habits of windows xp sp2 including file and folder build-up, leading to sluggish start-up and general degrading of simple operations.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWell, reciently I've discovered that my C:WindowsSystem32 folder is gone. Just gone. And it seems that any time a program tries to open something in that folder, it just pops up and says that the file is missing or whatnot.
1. The files are still there. I can access them through IE by typing in the dir in the address bar.
2. The folder is supposedly "Hidden," but I have it set to view all hidden files and folders.
For some reason when ever I start up the folder "system32" appears on my desktop. It's not a big deal it's more annoying than anything but I'm sure when I go to START UP what uncheck to stop this from popping up everytime.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI was trying to change the icon of my file folders to something else, and somewhere it said that I could do that at the file types tab of folder options in the control panel. I tried it and it didn't work (not important). However, whenever I opened a folder, it just opened search. I went back and looked at the actions and I didn't see open in there, but find was there (not in bold or anything), so I guessed that it was "find"ing instead of opening. I added a new action called "Open" that used explorer.exe and set it to the default action, but now every folder opens in a new window. I can't delete the action at all and have no idea how to change it. I'm new here and am not sure if this thread is where it belongs. (First post btw).
