Shortcuts on the desktop (to websites) open a window at screen centre and perhaps one quarter screen size. They each must be maximised if each is opened with no other window open and maximised. If it is possible with tabbed browsing I would like these individual windows to open (the next time I use these shortcuts) to a size I create for them by dragging them to fill the screen, but I cannot achieve this.

When you click on one the "Open With" window pops up asking which program to use to open it. IE is highlighted by default and all you have to do is click "Ok" and the shortcut opens the assigned task.

Whenever I plug in my flash drive, the window size is max. If I read correctly this is flashing an error message too quickly to read or something along those lines.. This only happens if I click on a folder in the right pane of Windows Explorer. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a recent problem where my computer will spend anywhere from 5-10 seconds switching to a different window. It doesn't matter whether it is loaded or not. For instance, I'll have 2 MSN conversations open where I can see both at the same time, and no matter what I'm doing, it will take the same amount of time just to switch over to say "lol".
This is very annoying, because if an error comes up (in any program) that requires opening a new window, it will take 10 seconds to load, and then 10 seconds to respond to me clicking "ok". I am wasting so much time waiting, and it is becoming one of the most aggravating issues I've ever had.
This also applies to clicking on anything on the start bar at any time, minimizing, maximizing, or changing size to any window ever. It doesn't effect anything that happens within any programs itself that aren't window related.
I'm using XP and have 2 gb of RAM.

When i double click on a folder in say "my documents", a search window opens instead of opening an open window. If i right mouse click on a folder the word "Search" is shown at the top of the list in Bold instead of "Open". how can i fix this?

It stops half way and another window pops up that says Installation error file not found. A required installation file SKU112.CAB could not be found. Original installation source required. If you installed Microsoft Office Standard edition 2003 from cd please insert your cd.
If you installed Microsoft office standard edition 2003 over your computer network please browse to the installation source on your computer. Also a window popped up that says Microsoft word has not been installed for the current user. Please run setup to install application. I don't have the cd its lost. This just started doing this about a month ago. I can't open any files through microsoft office word or power point.
The IEXPLORE.EXE still reside im my PC memory after I close the IE window.
With task mamanger, I can see there are many IEXPLORE.EXE running. But, I already close all of them.
I ran 3 ad-ware, spybot, MS antispyware. Removed all the spyware by those 3 spyware detector.
I'm looking for a way to create click-able Icons/shortcuts for various keyboard shortcuts (ctrl+..., etc.).
[My mouse is very acessable, but my keyboard is not. I know about various on-screen keyboards; but I would prefer clickable Icons that I could put in my quick launch toolbar, for example.]
Is this possible to do within XP, or with some program I can install
my windows is acting like it has no registry i can't access system restore, reg edit, etc. or and has icons only on the shortcuts which are defult like computer network bin etc. The files eg word doc or a pdf can been seen with the appropriate program. I can work programs like normal as i am using firefox, IE ain't working but i can acces computer which is IE . This has happened once before but i can't understand why i had karpersky and adware updated both times but didn't stop it. b4 it happened alot quicker but this time it took its time.

The panel has no controls for vertical/horizontal size and whatever monitor is used, an OS desktop fills the screen by default. I can resize the window for the TV viewing program in the normal way,just filling my projection screen, but the XP desktop is far too large.Does anyone know of a way to change the physical size of the desktop (including the taskbar) so that it sits in the LCD screen with a blank border all around, or maybe even make it custom resizeable as in a program window ( without changing the resolution)?

In the old Windows 2000, the Google page remains opened on the same window overlapping the myWin.doc window and no new window is opened.
