Jun 23, 2005No I had never changed it. I had downloaded a pic and wanted it as my desktop and noticed it was gone. I am unsure how long the option was missing.

Jun 18, 2005When I would use the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer to look at pictures,I was able to right click on them and select them to be Set as DesktopBackground. Now the selection is gone!

Dec 5, 2007Somehow in trying to apply a pic to my laptop background, I got two pics..one is the full screen background which I want to keep.. the other pic is imposed over the right side of the display! These are two different pics. How do I get rid of the other, which shows only partly.Somehow I got to the multiple monitor setup, but I can't get rid of the 1 -2 screen setup.

Normally you would find the images that come with the PC and the image you already have on the screen, well on my PC it used to show that now it is showing all of the pics in the "My Pictures" folder. This is also the same background that appears during the Windows start and shutdown sequence, before/after the desktop appears.

Jul 3, 2008a couple days ago, while doing my usual browsing for pics, i saved some pics to my usual picture folder and noticed the pics weren't there or anywhere on my hard drive. i tried saving the pics to my desktop, documents, an external hard drive, etc... and the pics are nowhere to be found. i did a complete computer search and the pics are nowhere to be found. i open mozilla firefox and my yahoo toolbar is gone but google toolbar is still there, i click view and yahoo and another toolbar aren't even listed. internet download manager is no longer viewed when i right click
when i right click several things are missing. the only things i see when i right click with firefox open is view image, copy image, properties and a couple of others----several things are missing including download with internet download manager, and several firefox extension programs. this hurts can anyone help? thanks, the only thing i've changed lately is after running no virus program for the past 5 months i decided to download avg free, i ran a scan and it caught a few things and cleaned them, then websites were moving slow
Folder Background Image - Change The Atttributes
Jun 18, 2005I managed to set the background image and the font color in a file system folder, when I was running WinME - I seem to remember it being an Active Desktop thing. OK, so I migrate to XP (SP2) and now I want to change the attributes of that folder back to standad - it's a legibility issue... :-) However... I can't for the life of me find where to change either the font color or the folder background image. Note: It's NOT the folder icon or the folder miniature I'm talking about, nor a mail folder.

May 2, 2006when I open my Display Properties and move to the Desktop tab and choose Browse to choose a picture to set as my background, after I have selected Open and the box closes, the Apply button is unavailable and the image I chose does not appear in my list or in the preview. I've also taken notice that certain images that were once in the list of available backgrounds images, such as Ascent, Autumn and Azul no longer appear to be available. Right clicking on an image and choosing Set as desktop background does not work, and neither does choosing the same option from the Picture Tasks. I deleted Vista Partition and from a "Ghost image backup" i installed ONLY windows XP on a single partition. Sep 14, 2008I use Windows XP on my HP Pavillion 750n (c.2001). I had to run a Non-Destructive recovery due to a Windows Update that wouldn't allow me to open Internet Explorer, my antivirus softeware (Trend Micro) or even run the System Restore function.When I ran the Non-Destructive recovery, upon reboot, I received the message, "NTLDR file is compressed. Press Ctrl + Alt + Del to Restart", to which I received that same message. I called HP Cust Support and they help me fix that problem ($59.95 later), but when my system rebooted, it created to Owner profiles. One named "owner" and one named "Owner.Your-W92P4BHLZG". I cannot access the one named "Owner" and none of my files are under the "Owner.Your-W92P4BHLZG".When I go to the "Owner" file, I get "Access Denied". Even when I boot in Safe Mode and log on as Admin, I can't get it in. I know the files are still in there somewhere as when I right-click on the Local Drive, It still shows the same amount of Disk Space Used as before the recovery was run.

And now, my comp looks like it went back to the dark ages (ie: Win98). Programs wont start, i cant view pics, drivers are missing, i cant connect to the internet, no sound. Dec 3, 2006I am trying to create a full HD image of my Dell c800 Laptop using Drive Image 7 (circa 2003) to an USB HD. I have tried twice and received failures about my HD having bad sectors OR locked sectors. I ran check disc with repair and did not find any problems. Re-ran check disc from the boot disc that came with the application and found no problems with the disc. Tried again for a backup and received the same error. I am thinking it is one of the programs I have loaded has a locked sector or one of my processes that loads during boot is the problem?
