The video I just made is 3 minutes 6 seconds long. When I save it (did this five differen't times) it ends at 2 minutes and 14 seconds? Why on earth? How do I fix this problem? This hasn't happened before. This is only my second video on movie maker, but the first time it worked perfectly. What's going on?
View 1 RepliesI have a p4p800-e mobo with realtek ac'97 sound card onboard. A few weeks ago the sound stopped working. I checked the device manager everything looks normal. I tried restoring my computer without success. I reinstalled drivers which did bring my sound back when I restarted but only for a short time (1 min). What can I do to fix this problem?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe short cuts on my HDD work when using the desktop to get through them, but upon opening any sort of Explorer dialog it does not see see the short cuts at all. Previously, when the problem first started, it(the Explorer dialog) would see them as a ".lnk" rather than treating them as a short cut, and taking me to the place specified. So, were I attaching a picture to an email, if said picture was in a folder that a short cut could lead me to, it would simply attach a "*.lnk" to the email rather than taking me to the folder where the pic resides.

Whenever the computer is booting into windows or into windows (within 20 minutes) the video cuts off and goes into something like a standby mode except the only way i can get it to boot back is to reboot computer. If i put a video card in and don't use on board video the computer freezes when i imagine it would normally black out. It never does this in the Bio's.
When I try to download a short video or the supposid missing file I get this message. C:DOCUME/`1OWNERLOCALS~1TEMPqrorw03.exe be as source file could not be read. I guess I really haven't the faintest idea what this is all about. I have to assume that I have a file missing.

While installing, or often before, the power randomly cuts off with no warning at random places. My computer keeps shutting down after less than a minute and gives some type error message,don't recall right now what it said,am not at the computer that is shutting down.What could be the problem? Seems like is says it is shutting down to protect itself or something.

I restarted the computer like I was instructed to do and it booted up fine. explorer.exe shuts down about every minute or so and restarts. There's no error message or anything, just everything on my desktop disappears then re-appears. This only started happening today. It was working fine last night before I got hit with the spyware this morning. What could possibly be causing this and how do I fix it. My computer is basically useless in this condition

Have scanned for viruses (AVG), malware(Windows Defender), cleaned registry (CClean), defragmented hard drive, restored system to earlier point using both Windows system restore and HP Recovery Manager. HP support said only remaining solution is to reinstall Windows.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI've surfed the forums but none of the problems seemed to hit on exactaly what i have.1st problem is that startup and shutdown each take about half and hour to go through (if at all).2nd Is the most reliable method of making the problem happen....loading a new webpage (like one I have never been to) this is when the computer seems to freeze, but not all the way, I still have perfect control of the mouse, and the clicks still go through but only after it seems to catch itself....And other times it doesnt take any provication to make it do this.3rd If this counts is that whenever it does this lockup thing, a small noise comes from the computer, like almost a beep, but not from any speakers, cant really explain it (its not from the case speaker either) Remindes me of a hard drive noise....kinda, but not normal HD.

This computer is an HP/2.8ghz/512ram/service pack 3 system. It use to run nice, now it boot's slow, slow, slow! It takes 10 minutes to get all the icons loaded, then it works ok. In addition to the slow boot, it also hangs at a black screen, I get around it by pressing F1, then it loads ok. Safe mode loads normally about 2 min.
View 10 Replies View RelatedEvery time I startup or restart my computer, my load takes around 20mins ! I have a Compaq Presario V2000. When I power or restart, the screen goes black, everything flashes, then the Compaq screen shows for about a second (guessing is the BIOS because it lets me hit F8 or whatever) but then after that it goes to a black screen with a status bar at the bottom. Slowly the status bar fills up. At around 20 minutes, which the bar is half way, then the computer flashes again and the XP logo shows and loads normally afterwards.
Im having no more problems with XP or anything else except that startup screen. People tell me its the BIOS, others tell me its not recognizing the Hard drive fast enough among other things. My BIOS boot order is basically CD first then HD. I have tried so many things with no success. And its getting to the point that I cant do anything when it comes to updating stuff without having to restart, which takes those 20mins.
I recently changed my power settings so my monitor would go off after 1 minute while running some scans. Now when I try to change that setting to always on or any other setting, my monitor keeps going black after 1 minute of not being used. Any ideas as to how I can change this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to install windows xp pro OEM, everything is fine, it accepts my product key, the installion goes well, it gets to the final installation process and it again asks for the 'product ID code', I type it in for the second time at it then says the product id number in invalid. How come it lets me through the first request for my Product ID number and lets me through the whole set up and then refuses my ID number at the last minute? im definately using the correct number.

This is my work computer and they are checking it this Thursday.XP professional SP2. As example, when I open Adobe Photoshop, it shows a link to every movie and pix I have viewed. I have deleted these files, so they no longer exist, but it shows the files as having been viewed.You click on the file in Photoshop, and it says the file is no longer available, but the NAME of the file, (ie Lesbian Girlfriends.mpeg) is still there. I have deleted History, the IE cache files, the cookies, the actual file itself, but I can't find the hidden file that still shows my viewing history. For example, I double-click on a PDF, word, excel, txt, jpg, file, it takes between 45 seconds and sometimes even 75 seconds for the application to open. If I however open the aplication first, even by double-clicking the desktop shortcut for the application, it opens immediately. From there, I can locate the file to open which also opens immediately. Also, right-clicking on a document takes also 45-75 seconds for the context menu to appear. Sometimes it doesn't even appear. I've tried many "cleaners" out there such as Ccleaner, registryfix, Cleanup! and others. I've also permanently deleted temp files, temp internet files, cookies, history, files, etc.
