I use XP Media Center 2005 Edition and was watching TV while editing a video with Movie Maker 2.1 on the same screen. After several editing the Movie Make became slow and then stopped responding. So I'd like to restore the Movie Maker but it comes with Service Pack 2. Is there anyway the Movie Maker program alone may be deleted and reinstalled without deleting and reinstalling whole SP2 package?

I have Windows Movie Maker version 5.1 and it just simply does not show any options for file type in the Save Movie Wizard settings. I do get options that affect file size/resolution but no "Other" settings. Do I have the wrong version of WMM? I'd like to save my movies as .avi files
View 1 Replies View RelatedWindows Movie Maker cannot save the movie to the specified location. Verify that the source files used in your movie are still available, that saving location is still available and that there is enough free disk space available, and then try again.
This error is driving me nuts.
Not matter what drive I select, no matter what files I use as a source, I STILL GET THIS ERROR.
I have 2 hard drives, one with 35 gigs free space, the other with 90 gigs of free space. I have 2 gigs of RAM. AMD 64 3700+ processor.
I deleted a program a while back, I want it back now, so I reinstalled, except now I cant run it. A message pops up saying its not a valid win32 application? It worked fine before I messed with it!

When I use Windows Movie Maker to capture from my DV camcorder, the CPU is at 100 % and the fan is always working. Then, after approximately 5 minutes of capture, my PC freeze and I have to reboot it. Then I see that a 39 MB video file (.wmv) and a 468 MB .tmp file have been created.I have a notebook 2.4 GHz with 512 MB of RAM. I want to uninstall or disable the Microsoft movie maker, as it is interfering with my professional Adobe Premiere Pro software. I have found no say to this. Every time I plug in my i-link DVD tape drive, I get the absolutely annoying, pop window that asks which software I would like to use to capture from the DVD device. Unfortunately the software I want to use is not listed! I have selected no program and the use for every time check box.

I tried to look in the Accesories/Entertaiment/ folder for the Movie Maker, but it's not there. I went to add/remove windows components, but there is no option to add movie maker. I thought I did not have the software so I went to the xp windows microsoft downloads and look for the movie maker. I tried to down load the package that brings this software but it run and applation to check if I required the download, but it was already installed. i hate having to play flash videos that i downloaded from Internet in vlc
When I play a DVD or xvid movie my computer hangs after quitting the program. Totally freezes, reboot required. I tried re-installing the latest ati drivers, latest audio drivers (ac '97) and the latest motherboard drivers (msi with nforce). Sometimes there's no audio either in the movies I try to play It's the same with PowerDvd, VLC and Windows Media Player.
I wonder if it could be the IDE cable? As I recall the dvd station and the hard drive with the xvid files I tried to play are on the same harddrive, forgot to try and play files from my SATA drive, but from what I can recall it has worked fine previously.
However, If i try to unpack stuff/burn stuff from the same harddrive it works fine.
How do I burn a DVD bin file to DVD movie format using Nero software? do I have to convert bin file to other file before burning?

I deleted the registry keys and such;manuelling removing it because the Explorer.exe would shut down every time I tried to do it the old fasion way Wink So, I was going through, and I accidentally deleted the Uninstall registry key Which has led all the installed progs to not show up in the Add/Remove Programs gui that's in Control Panel.And so, I am wondering if I have to wait until tommorow to do this, when I have the windows cd. Or if I'm able to just do some other recovery.I restarted and held down F8, and did the "Last known good configuration" thing, but it said I had to replace hal.dll.

Anyway, when I try to download the Java from Wild Tangent (MS) and install it this is the error that I get, "The Microsoft Virtual Machine you are attempting to install is a protected system component and can only be updated with a later release of the operating system or service pack." When I click OK, it says that the Installation is complete but windows doesn't detect any Java. Pogo will not work with either of the Javas that I have tried to download and I'm understanding from this error that this is the reason.
