How do I remove Quick Time Media Player from my PC, which was downloaded some time back. In control panel their is separate entry for quick time which cannot be deleted. tried to remove it by deleting all the entry pertaining to quick time from registry, but it simply refuses to go.
Does anyone know howw to remove items that are listed under add/remove programs in the control panel? I have several games and other installations that still show there even though they were fully uninstalled. They don't create a problem per se. Just wondered if there was a way to do this.
View 6 Replies View Relatedi downloaded this trial version of counterspy 2 from sunbelt and i dont want it anymore and i cant remove it, The help says to go to control panel and add remove programs but when i do, its the only program listed there that doesnt give me the option to remove, change or anything to it, it just says used rarely and thats it, all the other ones will let me remove it. whats the deal, anyone know? i should be able to uninstall this bs, and i cant get it to work, im a noob

My daughter was uninstalling McAfee and had to boot into safe mode to manually delete McAfee. This must have deleted the files needed for the Control Panel & My Computer. my DVD ROM wont work. It has all the drivers installed and it is enabled from the computer management in the control pannel. I also enabled it using my backup software but it is still not recognised. Any sudgestions?? I used to have both Nero and Instant CD/DVD installed. I removed Nero just in case there was a conflict with the software but it still remains the same.

I deleted my microsoft word program and can't retrieve it. I tried restoring the computer to an earlier time but that didn't work either. Whenever I try to access the word program I get a prompt that tells me to install the disk. I do not have the disk because the program were on the hp pc when I bought it. how I can reinstall the program (legally)?

The prompt after attempting to remove comes back with "The specific module could not be found" and leaves the program showing. I need to get rid of this entry. Secondly I want to remove "Calendar Creator 9" and when this is selected to remove, I get a prompt that says "To install the program it must first be removed using the Control Panel function Add/Remove. This is frustrating as that is exactly what I'm trying to do, NOT INSTALL the program again.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI can not get a photo or anything other than a "color" to be my desktop wallpaper. When I am in the control panel - display - the only buttons that are active are the "browse" and "color" buttons. The "position" button does not work. I can't even get one of the Windows backgrounds to display. The photo I choose to use is there somewhere because it is visible briefly when I start mycomputer. Then it disappears and is replaced by a "color" only screen.This is a very recent problem. I'm guessing some settings are incorrect.

Yesterday I visited a website and opened a file. After I did that, my wallpaper changed and it appeared to be whatever the website was. I was able to somehow get it off (don't ask me what I did, I couldn't tell you). Now, when I click on "Display" in the Control Panel and go to "Desk Top", the only thing that I can change is the color and I can also click on "Customize Desktop", but I cannot change the background or click on browse...".

Trying to reinstall WindowsXP from the original CD fails and just gives me an error message telling me it can't install because I have a newer version of Windows. Can someone help me with the best course of action to take? I need my computer for a job search and it is getting more unstable all the time. Also, I get two of these same DOS screens with the same error message at startup. I would really appreciate some help.
