LED Lights For Some Time And The Immediatly Shuts Off
Mar 31, 2007
The problem is that when I switch the power supply on and press the power button on the front, the power LED lights for less than a second and the immediatly shuts off. Pressing the power button again produces no result. If I switch off and then on the power supply again however, and then press the power button on the front again, the LED turns on for less than a second and then immediatly off, just like the first time.

I was wondering, is it posible to customise the driver so that the lights will flash whenever i shot in Counter Strike. That would be awesome.so anyone that knows about drivers and anything else thats relevant, pls help me. I want to do this during christmass brake.
I was unable to turn my Toshiba laptop on this morning. It was working fine last night when I logged off. The power and battery lights are on and I've checked all connections but still no luck.
I was using my Compaq laptop last night (unfortunately I'm at work and do not have any further identifying info on it...other than it's probably at least 3, closer to 4, years old) and it was fine. I walked away from it for less than 5 mins, when I came back, it was off - no lights, no display, no noise, no nothing. and it would not turn back on. I turned it on again this morning, which it did fine, but after less than 2 minutes (if even that long), it said it was 'preparing to stand by', but never actually reached that stage, instead it just shut off again. Throughout this time it was plugged in. I left it plugged in, but then removed the battery (thinking it might be dead), but still, nothing. Now it won't even turn on - battery or not, plugged in or not.
Whenever I try to put my computer Dell Dimension 9000 desktop in stand by mode manually, it prepares for standby, then goes in stand by (black sreen, monitor contol lights go off for a second or two, and then it turnes on again and shows the " to begin, click your user name" screen again.
I just purchased a 2.5 hard drive enclosure for my Fujitsu drive that I removed from my broken laptop.I assembled the enclosure, connected it to the USB port on my pc, lights come on on the enclosure, I hear it spinning BUT my PC won't recognize it.Why? FYI, the Fujitsu drive from my laptop has Vista OS on it and my PC is an XP OS.
My friends keyboard is not working. When she turns the computer on no lights come up on the keyboard. Have tried another keyboard and still the same. Unable to get into the computer to check bios etc as there is a password on the account.
Each time I turn on my computer and as it is boots up it will delay for a time with a line that reads something like Automatic IDE Configuration and then a message that my date and time are incorrect. The date goes back to Nov. 2003. Once I correct the date, time and year things seem to perform ok.
How do I speed up the boot up time? It seems like it takes forever for my pc to boot up. Plus how do I find out what programs are loading at start-up? I'm currently running winxp and connected by cable to the internet
My granddaughter's computer has Windows XP, and the IE 6.0 shuts down constantly. I thought perhaps it had to do with the service pak updates -- although I see that she has computer set for automatic updates. After installing XP Service Pks, XP Professional, IE shuts down and does NOT ALLOW THE UPDATE to proceed. but sends an error report message notifying IE is shutting down. Why is IE shutting down?
Since Windows has been released several time zone changes have occurred, and beginning this coming year the Daylight Saving Time period will change in the US. Specifically, DST will start three weeks earlier (2:00 A.M. on the second Sunday in March) and will end one week later (2:00 A.M. on the first Sunday in November). Thus, Microsoft is releasing an update to address changes that have or will take place in several countries. The update will be delivered automatically to Windows XP SP2 users starting December 12th (or can be downloaded now by clicking here) and will be included in Windows Vista.
i dont know where the reason could be, since i didn`t install any new programs or had virus problems. It just becomes slow, then I restart and sometimes it helps and sometimes doesn't.
I have a 4 year old computer that runs perfectly, except when I turn it off at night and then back on the next day, I loose a few hours on the time date at bottom of screen. I ajust each time I use it but the same thing happens each time I turn it off. Could it be the clock battery or? My operating system is Windows XP Home
my IE6 continually shuts down every minute!!! Im using XP home and have included my hijack log below. When it shuts down, I receive the famous "Windows has encountered a problem and needs to close" message. Also, the failed file proccess in the details section of the error box is never the same! I've already run 3 spy & malware programs so I'm pretty sure Im clean.
PC shuts down using the internet and immediately get PXE E53 - no boot filename received and PXE MOF - Exiting Intel boot agent. This happened a few times and a simple turn off/on solved the problem. Now I cannot get it to reboot at all. I am running a IBM NetVista with XP and Norton. Both XP and Norton have auto update so they should be have all current updates.
i recently got my computer back from the repair shop and everything worked ok for awhile then it went completely to hell.sometimes when i start up the computer it shuts down, restarts, or goes to the desktop and says "this computer will shutdown in 30 seconds" or something like that as soon as i get to my desktop then sometimes like right now its just fine until i try to burn a cd or a dvd then it will turn off completely for no reason , ive ran avg, spybot, ad-aware, cw-shredder, housecall but still nothing is found. please help me as soon as u can, this is very frustrating as i have to do my schooling on the computer.
Since the last 4-5 days my computer has been shutting down by itself. No warning nothing at all. Just Kaput.I mean windows doesn't show shut down message either. Also I feel it has something to do with my power settings( which are set down to never shut down/hibernate/standby), but I feel that if I leave it idle for some time.. that's when it goes.. if I keep working, it'll stay on.What's more, I think it started after an adobe flash player update( or maybe a windows update, both happened at the same time. Some kinda software distribution service 3.0).. System restore is not working either.I'm running Windows XP home on a compaq 2500 series laptop with P IV 2.4 Gigs processor, 512 mb RAM and 120 GB IDE HDD.
I had a problem with my pc for a while and i can't find any solution on the i-net. My problem is that when i restart my pc, it turns off for about 3-5 seconds then delay 2-3 sec and bios starts, then the os. The question is why it shuts down when i restart my pc. I'm not overclocker, and this problem came recently.
I ran the virus scan I ran adware, spybot and cw shredder all show nothing here's a hijack log any help is appreciated. I also can't get the folder common task bar off the desk top. It showed up after an update and I can't get rid of it.

First of all, after clicking "shut down" my computer would go to a screen labeled "It is now safe to shut down your computer." I have encountered this before, and I went to turn on APM in power settings. However, I can no longer go to stand by anymore
I have a Toshiba Satellite computer and when I run it wireless it seems to shut down for no reason at all. I can use it for about a half hour and then it will turn off and when I turn it back on it will shut down about 10-15 min later.

Everything has been working fine now for about 6 months(So I'm 3 mos overdo for a crash) since I had to wipe everthing and restart. Last week I had to tape a Digital Video and then edit it using Windows Movie Maker. The storing was very slow but I finally finished the project. Then I decided to tape one last thing on my Nokia N95 (A phone with a very good Carl Zeiss video recorder in it)..................
I keep all of my digital photos in one folder. I have a few AVI files taken with the camera. If I navigate to a sub folder that contains one of these AVI files Explorer shuts down with a "Data Execution Prevention Error"
