Internet Explorer 6 Application Hang

I use IE 6 and Windows XP Pro. I keep 2 windows of IE open and 1 window aol open. Lately once a day almost every day one of my open ie windows will freeze. This usually happens when I go to a new site. The window will freeze and I just close the window, get the MS error msg, send the report, and then reopen the window and continue on. My computer does not freeze or lock up just one window becomes unreponsive. From Component Services Application here are the 2 error msgs Application Hang Event ID 1001 Description: Fault bucket 126637809.

I am really getting tired of getting these application hangs in Explorer 6. Is Microsoft ever going to fix this? I got a message once to download a fix which I did, but it didn't stop the hangs. Is there any thing I can do? And while I'm here! What do I do when I try to shut down my PC and get that little box that has to end a running program when I have closed all my windows? I have a Dell 4700, with windows XP home edition and explorer 6 service pack 2. I am also using Cox cable high speed broadband.

I get random application hang up. I can't end the program. The restart command will not respond. I must push the main button until the system shuts down. The system starts again without difficulty.The Windows XP Event Viewer shows no system errors. In the application window it simply shows Application Hang with the Event 1001/1002 combination. I can't seem to find any really useful information on these event codes. The problem has become a daily occurrence.

I just bought a lenovo pc 2 months ago with Windows XP Professional and the Service pack 3. About a week ago a program I was using froze up the computer completely. I restarted the computer and since then the computer will not shut down. In last few days Windows (XP Pro SP2) Explorer started to hang fo up to a minute or so when trying to open files. Have scanned for viruses (AVG), malware(Windows Defender), cleaned registry (CClean), defragmented hard drive, restored system to earlier point using both Windows system restore and HP Recovery Manager. HP support said only remaining solution is to reinstall Windows.

I currently have a video on my disk in a folder (yes I needed to specify this ). My problem happens when I go into this folder: windows hangs, and when I hit CTRL + ALT + DEL I see drwtsn.exe running. When I close it down exporer just restarts. This problem happens with no other video file I have. I have tried: renaming the video and the folder (done quickly before windows freezes) aswell as placing the file on another partition (though I can't do this because windows hangs when I try to move it).
I have a 'clean' computer meaning it's always kept free of viruses, spyware, adaware and all my security programs are updated and executed regularly. This problem is pretty annoying as there are other files in this folder that I can't always access in time!

While in Windows Explorer, if I happen to look in a folder that just contains an AVI file from my Canon S2 IS digital camera (don't even open the AVI file), DrWatson gives me a warning (can't remember the details) and then Windows Explorer hangs and have to do a CTRL-ALT-DEL to terminate W.E. and error report goes out to Microsoft. (no response of course) Happens every time.This does not happen on my notebook computer so there has to be a problem (conflict?) on this desktop.

Good morning, I have a couple of problems and I can't figure out how to get my computer back to where it used to be. I think it has something to do with updating windows. I get messages everytime I try to open a photo or a file. One message is Explorer EXE-Application Error, The instruction of ox600470a4 referenced memory at ox600470a4. The memory could not be written. Click on ok to terminate the program, click on cancel to debug the program. I clicked on debug and the program I got a message about Dr. Watson trying to communicate with ? and I clicked ok. Then the photo closed and all the icons disappeared and the reappeared. When I opened the same photo again, I got the following message. Data Execution Prevention-Microsoft Windows to help protect your computer, Windows has closed this program and also Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close, etc. Again the program shuts down. Basically, I can't open anything without the error messages. I can't copy cd's either as I have in the past with Nero. The program starts and then I get a read message or the cd just will not copy. Is there a way that I can do a restore and have my computer back to where it was 3 weeks ago? I could do that with my old computer Windows 98se. I have a HP Media M7060n now and I have XP home edition. Up to now I have had no problems. This computer is very different from my old one and I have no clue how I would do a restore. I just want a restore from 3 weeks ago, not a complete restore. I think the problem has to do with a windows update. I think I did one just before these problems occured. I lost my virus protection and had to reinstall it. I thought maybe that was the problem so I uninstalled it, but that wasn't it. So..here I am very frustrated. I am running an old dual celeron 1.13 ghz machine with windows xp. I just reinstalled xp, and installed sp3 after installing windows installer 3.1. I have a serious problem with my laptop. I have a Windows XP Home Edition Compaq laptop and there is a message that keeps me from accessing my computer files that states the following:explorer.exe -Application Error: The instruction at "0x700000000" referenced memory at "0x700000000". The memory could not be "read".
Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program
Then when I click on either choice, the desktop goes blank and I cannot access my start menu because whenever I try to do so, the message comes up again and sometimes the drwtsn32.dll (I think that's it) pops up on the screen. I would like some help and advice to fix this problem.

Error from any application that tries to access the Internet. This includes IE, the Live Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, Limeware, uTorrent, any application, the moment I try to access the Interent with it. For example, I'll get the error the moment I try to log on with MSN, but not when I initially launch the messenger. However, if I don't actually click the Don't Send button, the applications work just fine...The problem has started when I accidently turned off the PC without a proper shut down.I don't actually get the errors in Safe Mode, but then again, I have no internet connection there.

I am recieving 2 different error messages. the 1st is "Faulting application explorer.exe, version 6.0.2900.2180 faulting module gtcodec.dll, version 1.10.0.0, fault address 0x00001e49". The 2nd is "Fault bucket 173850670" can anyone help me to fix this, if i try to open a folder they come up and close everything and make all my stuff disappear in the icon tray by my clock.

Doing a search reveals that both my C drive and E drive (Maxtor external
hard drive) have the folder Application Data.I have chosen under Folder Options to allow all files to be shown. Indeed, all files appear for the C drive, but not all appear on the E drive.What can I do to have to do to view the E drive hidden files?

I use Windows XP with SP3 installed and when I turn on my computer and it gets to the log in screen it doesn't show the regular long in for XP but the clasic one. My pc is so slow that it takes ages to play a song in wmp11. Ive used tools like ad-aware and registry mechanic, tune up utilities. But still no improvement. It used to be just fine, until I installed some pay-for-viewing add program. I have uninstalled it since then, but the slowness remains. And the processor is hogged, at the highest level, even though i killed many a startup processes.

I recently had a problem on my computer where Internet explorer was not working and would'nt open, and no windows based functions that used the explorer interface would work... So i downloaded the IE7 install package on my other computer and burned to disk to install. everything was going along fine, and when prompted to restart to finsih the installation i did so..... that is when "it" hit the fan.

every time i try to open anything that uses these programs i get a 'windows/internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close' crash i think i have a virus in my processes i have 2 strange ones one is n6tgoxae.exe the other is 86851316.exe norton fixes this is for a short while but then the problem soon returns i have also tried spybot search and destroy as well as running AdAware can anyone help me on how to fix my explorer problems and gettin rid of

I recently put a new hard drive in my computer. Now whenever I try to start Windows Explorer or Internet Explorer the windows installer starts and the windows will not open until I have cancelled the installer several times. I scanned the registry with Registry Fix and fixed all problems. It still starts every time. Netscape has no like problem starting.

I badly need your support. Day before yesterday (01-Aug-06) night I upgraded the yahoo toolbar and used their norton anti spy to scan. Then I shut down the system and started to work the next day. Every thing is perfectly ok except for one thing. In Windows Explorer, on any folder or drive if I double click or open I get a crash. If I do explore then there is no problem.

I turned off my computer and everything worked fine. I turned it on today and when I open my Internet Explorer I get the message "Page cannot be displayed" My Netscape browser works fine. I called Comcast they ran all the diagnosis from their end and said something got corrupted in Internet Explorer. They said it could be a win-sock problemI am running Windows XP, Internet Explorer v.6.0.2800.1106 and using Service pack 1.The only thing I can think to do is uninstall my Internet Explorer, download a new version from Microsoft, and install it.I thought a would ask for a second opinion before I before I tried anything.
