I have Windows XP on a Sony Vaio, model VGN-FS640. When I click on Add or Remove Programs, I get this message: Windows cannot find 'C:WINDOWSsystem 32undll32.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again. Then it discusses searching for a file. Until recently I have been able to use Add or Remove. The only thing I have done recently that I can think of is use Spyware Detector and Reg. Cure. At the same time, another problem developed, which I'm including, as maybe they are related: I have Belarc Advisor on my computer. I was going to open it, but I got this message under Sharing Session title, "The destination address is not valid. Check the address and try again." Error

Windows XP SP2..Okay, I just got finished with this annoying virus/spyware/whatever, so I wanted to put something online for other people to google how I got my solution.I went to a website, not sure if it was a torrent site or the scifi.com site. I think it was the torrent site. Anyways, a MSN psuedo messenger creeps up in the lower right hand corner (like it did with the bask virus that was hell to get rid of but basically just download malwarebytes and run in safemode) and then a little while later, these pop ups for some 360 security (not norton) appeared saying "your computer is infected click yes." I go into task manager and end IE, but when I try to reopen internet explorer, it shuts down immediately. I run malwarebytes and it finds several threats, I go to remove them all and the program shuts down.
Error 1321. The Installer has insufficient privileges to modify the file C:Program FilesCommon FilesJavaUpdateBase Imagesjre1.6.0.b105core3.zip. I'm using a Compaq 6470NX, running XP. I recently had to do a recovery and of course lost everything. I'm now trying to re-do stuff. I'm sure I'll have a lot more to ask. The error above came when trying to install a java runtime and I've gotten it for other things as well.

I have a 5 year old Dell Inspiron 5150 laptop equiped with XP Professional. Attached to it is a small Cambridge Soundworks speaker system that has worked perfectly until now... Suddenly no more audio from this system, except for the computer inside speakers that is working just fine. I have checked all the connections (speakers and woofer). I have been doing a lot of "cleaning" lately - due to the fact that my computer has been very slow... I used CCleaner, WinUtilities and Premium Booster. My anti virus is AVG.
start computer, I hear the System Notification Sound on my computer. I have watched the system tray area several times hoping to see what is causing the sound but haven't seen a screen message. I have googled and searched Microsoft, but can't find a list of items that would cause a System Notification sound to be heard. Can anyone point me in the direction or web page?

First, my notebook has been working normally until yesterday afternoon. Windows XP Home Edition was installed by the manufacturer and was working properly. But yesterday, when I started up and logged on to my computer, and everytime since, Windows Installer automatically launches. It gives the message something like: "wait while Windows configures Windows XP." Then the installer asks me to to insert the Windows XP CD, which of course I don't have since Windows XP was factory installed on this notebook. I cancel the process and everything seems to work normally. Is there a way I can stop this from happening?
