Now I have Windows and Windows. On my computer. I've tried to simply delete W.0 but I keep getting a message saying the system files are in use and can't be deleted. I'd just like to free up the space.

My PC would NOT let me complete the Removal.
I went to Windows Update, but could only find a Professional Version of XP Service Pack 2.
If I install SP3, will it remove all my installed softwares and my files?

This HDD had 2 partition on it (from a previous XP install on another PC) so I used the XP install CD to basically remove it and create a single partition on it (that's the only way I knew how to do it).However, while doing that, it ended up creating a dual boot config so that now, when I start my PC, I have to chose which OS to start:1) The regular XP install2) The one that never got installed on the new HDD since I only partitionned it.?

There is no Change/Remove button in Add/Remove Programs but the program is there, 150 MB, and the file suggested on the HP website for uninstalling older printers from XP produces a message that it's "unsupported" can't remember exact verbiage, been a while since last tried. Even reinstalled in the hopes that a message would come up to the effect "this program is already installed, do you want install to remove it prior to completing this install," but it just installs the printer again with a number after it ... View 44 Replies View RelatedI was trying to remove windows messenger by going to control panel -> add/remove programs -> add/remove windows components I misread the directions for this windows XP setup box and made it so that only windows messenger had a checkmark because I thought this meant that only windows messenger would be modified removed unfortunately, this just meant windows messenger stayed the same and all the other components i had installed were removed. The actual software doesn't seem to be on the setup cd, but I haven't downloaded it either. Have figured out that its give me slowdowns and wierdnesses and generally making me mad. The prompt after attempting to remove comes back with "The specific module could not be found" and leaves the program showing. I need to get rid of this entry.
