Installed Programs Are Missing In Add Remove Programs
Sep 8, 2006Just did an upgrade install of Win2k on a Win98SE system. I've had this computer for ages and did not want to do a clean install.The upgrade went fine except for one problem.In my add/remove program section all of my previously installed programs are missing.They were not deleted, just missing from add/remove.How do I restore these programs back into the add/remove program section?

Dec 3, 2008I have tried previously to uninstall my HP Officejet G85 printer from HP Pavilion a1130n running XP Media. There is no Change/Remove button in Add/Remove Programs but the program is there, 150 MB, and the file suggested on the HP website for uninstalling older printers from XP produces a message that it's "unsupported" can't remember exact verbiage, been a while since last tried. Even reinstalled in the hopes that a message would come up to the effect "this program is already installed, do you want install to remove it prior to completing this install," but it just installs the printer again with a number after it ... I'm up to "hp officejet g series - 3."

Dec 7, 2007My laptop is missing lots of programs under Add/Remove Programs that I know are installed. Furthermore, some that are listed don't have the Remove button next to it. The missing programs aren't listed in the Uninstall registry key and I'm confident there are not viruses on the machine.

Aug 22, 2005I failed to repair my older c:windows XP folder and installed new c:windows2 folder. I would like to use my installed programs in the older windows which i can see in the programs folder. What do i need to do to get them working on the new folder without reinstalling them. When done do I just delete the old windows folder to save space on my hard drive.

Installing New Network - No One Installed Administrator Accounts
Aug 30, 2005I am installing a new network with all XP pro Sp2 PCs's. The issue is these PC's were all built prior to me setting up the network and no one installed the administrator accounts on any of them. The server box in Advanced server 2003 and I set up there accounts in active directory. Made the part of the server workgroup. Set up there share folders gave them permissions to the shares and I could not copy there files to the server. I get the message no rights or permissions contact the Administrator. I copied some test files to an
USB memory stick downloaded the to the server for testing purposes. We can see them from the desktop but we can't edit or save them. In the folder that the files were in I made sure that they were'nt read only and it still say's we don't have permissions to these files?
