HP Webcam Driver Fails To Install

Sep 7, 2009

Purchased an HP Deluxe Webcam KQ246AA to use with my Dell 5100 laptop, with Windows XP Home Edition O/S, SP3, Intel Pentium 4, 2.66GHz CPU, and 512 GB RAM. Loaded the HP supplied software CD, and then plugged the cable into a USB 2.0 port, but it failed to connect to the webcam. The hardware wizard gave the following message: Problem installing the hardware: HP Deluxe Webcam KQ246AA. An error occurred during the installation of the driver.Have tried multiple times to delete and reload the software. Located the driver by clicking on Computer, System Properties, Hardware, then Device Manager tabs and found the driver under Other Devices which shows a yellow question mark. Is this the proper location for a device connecting to a USB port? Please advise. The General, Device Status tab contains the following message: This device is not configured correctly (Code 1). To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver. Ive tried to reload according to the prompts, but with no success.

Corrupted - Repair Fails - Parallel Install Fails

Jul 23, 2008

i have a HP Pavilion laptop [dv5117ci] with factory load XP Pro SP2and factory restore discs. the system became corrupted by a failed Win update.
it had multiple files showing bad, so rather than chase them one at a time for an unknowable number of days, I decided to create a new directory and install fresh copy of WinXP Pro
That looked like it was going to work but after being up on the initial boot, wobbly, for about 45 minutes, something caused a freeze, and I was toasted after that. Same routine again: bootup, get error "Windows failed to start because the following file is missing or corrupt"

Win SP3 Install Fails

Aug 28, 2008

I'm running Windows XP Pro SP2 and wanted to upgrade to the SP3 that's out. It showed up in Auto Updates, and I ran the install, but it failed. The system still runs ok, but I can't figure out how to get past the error. It tries to install the update KB946648, but fails with an access denied error. The SP3 install then back everything out and quits. How do I get past this error? I checked my update history, and it says that update KB946648 is already installed. Additional info: Tried running the update without the ZoneAlarm Fire wall off and Windows firewall on I also have Norton's AV. Any possibility of a conflict with one of these

Install Fails Incompatible Drive Partition

Dec 2, 2007

I have two SATA drives on my machine. and want to start a software re-build. I swapped the cables on the drives, formated the second drive (as NTFS) and tried to load XP. When I select the partition to instal in it tells me that the drive partition is not Windows XP compatible, and I should return to the previous screen to make it so. That screen allows me to delete and create partitions, but a new partition comes up only as "raw". I can change it to NTFS in Disk Manager, but after doing so I still get the same message. I am able to transfer files to and from the drive and open them without problems, so the drive itself seems to be working.

How Do I Install An Old Driver?

When I try to install it through the device manager, there's only an option to update the driver so when I try to install the old one it says it can't find a better match than the one I've got already (generic cardbus controller).I've tried uninstalling the current driver but I can't find a way to manually install the old one. I'm running XP Pro SP3 on an HP 530 laptop.

Install Standard VGA Driver

Mar 26, 2008

I did an XP update and installed all the Windows updates. Now I cannot install my Radeon SE-DT graphics drivers. I get an "installation failed, try to install standard VGA drivers" note after the most current downloaded driver installation program runs InstallShield. I'm running on an ASUS A7V motherboard (1011 BIOS) with AMD Athlon processor and 768 MB of Crucial RAM; 2GB Maxtor drive. I'm using LiveOne Care for security.I'd lime to know if the motherboard chipset drivers can be updated from within Windows without doing the floppy disk boot.

I'm running graphics on the VGA save mode and it is goofy scrolling down a screen watching the waves as the data clunks in. Can anyone suggest an easy install? ATI Radeon has been no help so far. By the way, Device Manager shows no video display components from which verify or update drivers.

USB Device Driver Won't Install

May 19, 2005

I have a USB device (Motorola V3 phone) and when connected it the driver did not install properly (something like there was an error installing the device) and the only option was to close the device wizard (no back option) I tried this on all my USB ports. The problem now is that when I plug the phone into a USB nothing happens at all - it doesn't try and load a new driver and since the driver it installed before didn't work it doesn't use that. How can I remove all trace of the phone from the PC so that it will have another go at installing the driver (I used the CD that came with the phone before, but I have since got it to work on another PC by letting it search the web for a driver).

Razr V3M Driver Won't Install

Oct 5, 2007

I recently bought a Motorola Razr V3m from Verizon. Everything works great except I cannot get the drivers to install to transfer music from the Vcast Music Manager to my phone. When I plug in my phone, it says "Found New Hardware Razr V3c". I don't know if this is because the V3m uses the same drivers, but none the less, it won't install. It will end up saying " Cannot Install this hardware". If I plug in my phone while it is off, it will detect it as "Motorola USB Modem" and complete the installation, but 30 seconds after turning it back on, it then again detects it as "Razr V3m". I have tried to install on 2 PCs, one running WinXP Pro, other running WinXP Media Center. I am using the CD that came in the "Vcast Music Essentials Kit".

I did, and when I sent the error script that I receive, they told me to contact Microsoft. I have been searching the articles for patches, fixes, etc but am not having any luck. When I try to reinstall the printer (with the printer cd or manually), the installation appears to be going through and copying files and then I get a message that the installation can not finish. USB Wireless G Adapter Won't Install Driver

The reason this is urgent for me is because I am leaving to move into my new apartment tomorrow morning, and once I am gone from my house, pretty much any technical problem will not get solved (I am sure many of you here are familiar with this position). My brother's computer was full of viruses so I reinstalled a fresh copy of windows, and everything is working great. But I go to install the Westell wireless G USB adapter for internet, and the driver will not install.I have installed the utility first - it then asks to connect the device which I did. The new hardware thing pops up, and since I don't have the installation CD (lost it, but downloaded the files from Westell's website), I browse to the folder of those files, and it searches and says it cannot find the driver.

Printer Driver Won't Install On Computer

I'm trying to get my Canon IP8500 printer to work with my Samsung NC20 netbook which is running Windows XP.Usually I simply plug the printer into any Windows XP computer and it'll automatically install the necessary drivers. However, when I plug it into my netbook and instruct Windows XP to automatically search/find and install the drivers, it can't find any.So I've gone onto the Canon website and manually downloaded the drivers, but when I try to install them via the setup.exe it says that a newer driver is already installed, and aborts the setup. The weird thing is that there definitely isn't a driver already installed, because I've even gone into device manager and uninstalled the printer/driver before trying again.

The computer is continuing to send a signal because the monitor does not go into power saving mode, but nothing happens after that. I've gone into BIOS and it is recognizing my HDD and my CD-ROM. I have tried booting from the disk, but the same thing happens, and yes, this is a legit copy made by MS.
