Transfer Data And Settings Bookmarks, Outlook Express Not Programs From Win98
May 12, 2006Is there a recommended way to transfer data and settings (bookmarks, outlook express etc...not programs) from win98 to winxp? I finally had to upgrade and I dread the task. I am doing it disc by disc but ugh.The has to be a way to "hose" it in from one pppc to the other.

my grandson expecting to see a clean desktop with only a recycle bin. I got
five shortcut icons with nothing in C:D & Susernamedesktop, and I couldnot
move the icons to the recycle bin. Can somebody tell me what's going on?

Nov 7, 2006my windows is acting like it has no registry i can't access system restore, reg edit, etc. or and has icons only on the shortcuts which are defult like computer network bin etc. The files eg word doc or a pdf can been seen with the appropriate program. I can work programs like normal as i am using firefox, IE ain't working but i can acces computer which is IE . This has happened once before but i can't understand why i had karpersky and adware updated both times but didn't stop it. b4 it happened alot quicker but this time it took its time.

In Internet Explorer, on the address bar, you can click the down arrow at the right end of the bar and this causes a Drop Down List to appear, that shows URLs you've recently typed in and gone to. In IE 7 there is a button in "Organize Favorites" to rename a Favorite but I can't figure out how to do it in Firefox 3. In IE 7 there are also buttons for "New Folder", "Move" and "Delete." I originally started this because I couldn't figure out how to rename a Bookmark. Now I know there is other stuff that I used to know how to do in Firefox 2 but I don't now with 3.
