ASUS P5GD2-X Motherboard Occurred Install - Stata Hdd Couldn't Found
May 29, 2006
I just bought a new motherboard which is Asus P5GD2-X. The problem occured when I tried to install it with Windows XP Professional CD. It seemed that my SATA Hdd could not be found... I cannot find any SATA driver for it in the CD or in ASUS website..
All new system Asus MB core i7 4 gig ram with sata drive. All hardware is up in the bios and recognized. I get the Stop:0X0000007B on install of XP pro service pack 2.
OK, I downloaded Diskkeeper premium the other night and it ran through my disk and defragged. Later, the system (running slow) so I uninstalled it. Still ran terrible. Did a system restore and upon booting, XP couldn't find ntoskrnl.exe. I never could get xp back up and going into the recovery console from the XP setup disk showed the windows folder was empty. I'm guessing the system restore wiped it and didn't complete reloading the contents which is why it was empty. I pulled the drive and hooked it up to another system as a second drive and was able to get some vital data files but most that
I needed were corrupt and wouldn't copy.i put the drive back in the machine it was in, started a fresh install of XP sp2 and it loads all files and when it starts windows to do the install, it hangs at 33 minutes remaining. Changed the drive and started with another good drive. Same thing. Got another XP sp2 disk in case some files were corrupt on the original although I had used it many times prior with no problem. Still the same thing. Gets to 33 minutes remaining on the install and just never gets any farther
I'll buy a new motherboard with video card, cpu and memory but I will keep the old HDD. My old mobo is burnt so I can't boot the PC. I want to do a fresh install on C: but I have some data that I need. I have a few ideas but I don't know if they'll work. 1)Can I use Windows XP Live USB edition to boot with the new mobo, copy the data from C: to another partition and then do a clean Windows install(well, only the C: partition)? 2)What if I do a Windows Repair Install, copy the data from C: to another drive and then do a clean install?(I don't think this is a good option because the user settings and program files will be deleted and I want to keep them so I will know what apps will I have to install.
I had bought several hard drives as is, hoping one of them would work. thought I had one, but turned out I couldn't install XP onto the disk, wouldn't copy any files. so I pretty much cut my loss on the drives and removed it the bad one from pc. now I get 2 options when booting windows. my original xp install, and the 2nd install that still needs to complete, how can I stop it from wanting to install xp again from the boot file and keep the original settings as they were?
My P5RD2-VM Ethernet port fried for some reason, so I purchased another Asus P5K Deluxe w/wifi. Also, it was taking at least 10 minutes to boot my old system, probably due to junk collected over time on my system. My question is Should I do a fresh XP install on a new hard drive (I don't need the space) or can I fresh install onto a new folder on my existing boot drive? Can I use MS File Settings & Transfer Wizard to push everything over to the new boot folder? Or am I creating more work than necessary? Is there a better way to change motherboards and do a fresh install with existing equipment?
I'm running on Windows XP and I'm unable to install my mobo drivers. It's an Asus A8N-E. When I try to install them directly from the CD, it shows the installation completing, and then a window pops up displaying only "1155:". I tried downloading the latest drivers from both the nVidia website and the Asus website, and neither work. When they are installed, Windows will attempt to load, and then blue screen and restart.
i swapped the motherboard from my pc which was running vista to our older pc which is running xp not only that but i put a new 300gig drive in the xp machine and was planning to clean install xp again however it wont let me boot into xp setup it gets to the first screen you know where its preparing setup files etc.. then after that i get the blue screen with the error 0x0000007B, the hard drive is being detected and all should work fine i have removed everything from the motherboard but the bare essentials, and the interesting thing is when i run the vista install cd it gets to the setup steps without a hitch so im wondering does vista affect something on the motherboard when it has been previously installed which prevents xp from being installed again? and if so how do i reset it back to factory condition, i have already tried resetting cmos to defaults,
So I had this awesome post and it was removed by ctrl z. Touch pads on laptops FTL I tell ya. I'm going to make this short and sweet. I'm using two 150gb raptor HDD's connected with SATA. I had windows vista ultimate x64 installed but I didn't like it so I decided to buy windows xp MCE 2005 and here is my problem I'm trying to do the install but it continues to give me the BSOD. Even after I read a thread about the same issue, I couldnt get pass the BSOD and the topic was locked so here I am.
My raid is set to auto detect but I dont have a raid setup since I'm allowing xp to do this for me. I did have one setup for vista but I deleted it thinking I needed to start fresh for xp am i right? I boot from CD and tried to hit F6 but nothing happens. I let it go and continue with the loading. Here's where I'm at now. Windows Setup Setup could not determine the type of one or more mass storage devices isntalled in your system, or you have chosen to manually specify an adapter. Currently , setup will load support for the following mass storage devices.....
every once in a while i will notice that my pc clock is a few hours behind, the minute is almost always right, but even that will vary +/- 5 minutes or so. this isnt a huge problem, but i was wondering if it might be an indication that i need to install a new battery on my motherboard?
i have problems finding drivers for my motherboard.. i need usb 2.0 drivers.. my mb is a asus p4p800-x, i searched 4 drivers in many sites, like asus.com, but i haven't found yet..where can i found USB 2.0 drivers o
I have one HP Presario C700 with Windows Vista. All my family know on XP. When i try to install windows xp , i have one problem :no HDD found. The error is : Setup did not find any HDD installed in your computer. Make sure any HDD are powered on and properly connected to your computer and that any disk-related hardware configuration is correct. This may involve running a manufacturer-supplied diagnostic or setup program. Setup can not continue. To quit setup press F3.” Dont have floopy disk, with pressing F6 not happens nothing. The version of Windows is SP2. When i enter in BIOS, i dont see my HDD disk.
I am quite familiar with desktop hardware and some software issues, so this is quite a conundrum for me. My knowledge is usually regarding older desktops and OS Systems (stuff not using firewire, but IDE, for example)
1) Introduction: Basically, I purchased a newly refurbished laptop HP Compaq NX7400 on Friday. I had them deliver it with no software as it reduced its price and I don?t like vista yet. When I went to install an OS (XP PRO SP1) it gave me an error message as follows: Setup did not find any HDD installed in your computer.
Make sure any HDD are powered on and properly connected to your computer and that any disk-related hardware configuration is correct. This may involve running a manufacturer-supplied diagnostic or setup program. etup can not continue. To quit setup press F3?
2) attempts to fix: A) I formatted and partitioned my hard drive using Western Digital?s Data Life Guard (DLG) it was an 80 GB hard drive. Okay so there is one there. But the odd thing was that it was registered as a BIOS hard drive? I am not sure on this?....
i am new to this forum, but i have looked everywhere and i have a problem i can't seem to find the answear to. I reformated my harddrive, it is a seagate baracuda 160gb drive. I have custom built many computer systems over the years, but I feel like a new comer when trying to decide what board and chip set to use on a socket 939 system. I have used ASUS extensively and will use ASUS on this system. With all of the various chipsets and motherboards available from ASUS for the socket 939 I have reached to a point of total frustration. The more I research the duller my mind becomes and am asking for some help or suggestions. The computer will be used for research, a lot of it on the web, for graphics work and for preparation of presentations. I am not a gamer, am not interested in gaming, and do not have any games on my PC.
I know that the chipset will basically determine which motherboard to use. I am considering the VIA K8T800 PRO chipset, as the ATI and NVIDA chipsets seem to be more for gamers. Again my mind is awash from researching the various chipsets available for the socket 939 from the different chipset manufacturers, ATI, NVIDA, and VIA. I would like some input on which chipset would be best for general computing? Also, I was thinking about an AGP video card, but after research I feel like AGP is becoming a dinosaur. On the other hand it seems like the only advantage of PCI Express is for gamers especially in a dual configuration. Is there any real advantage of PCI Express over AGP for general computing? Would it be advantageous to go PCI Express over AGP?
Try to install .net Framework 2.0 and up, Notes: I can install and uninstall .Net Framework 1. I have .Net Framework 2.0 before but my brother uninstalled it. When I start up my pc i have 3 DLL messages saying they can't be found.
am trying to get some extra MB for my son's computer for his hugh game he has installed. I looked in add/remove and found 3 things that are taking a lot of MB and wonder if they are needed or would hurt anything if I deleted them. Please give me your opinion on Python 2.2 and Python 2.2.1 I don't have a clue what they are for but they are taking up a whopping 22.71 MB a piece! I found yahoo install manager and compuserve also taking up a lot of MB and I don't have a clue what they are needed for either.
I was attempting to install Norton System Works 2006, it failed and gave me some instructions to fix the issue which consisted of downloading 3 tools and running them to clean the failed install, and then try the install again. I tried to reboot first (I don't recall if I was instructed to or not!) and now it goes through the motions of starting up...bios screen, Norton Go Back Screen (new), XP loading screen, then I get a screen that says "autochk program not found - skipping AUTOCHECK" and it restarts
I recently purchased a new MOBO for my first build a few weeks ago (ASUS msn32 SLI Deluxe), and it has a few nice little utilities that make the experience of building a PC a fun one - that is, until you try to use them! lol~AI Gear is a utility that (with the interface of a gear shift) allows you to up the power of your processor, or to go into a power saving mode, if you will. AI Booster is a very cool little OC'ing utility that makes it easier for newbie people like myself to OC within a controlled environment without the fear of screwing something up in the BIOS.Now AI Gear and AI Booster can't run at the same time. So if AI Booster is set up to launch on start up, there's a pop up that will prompt you to disable AI Gear so the booster can be used.
with my PC (described below) that was built about 1 year ago. Recently I loaded some video-editing software (Adobe Premiere Elements v4) to do some video work. I also loaded Pinnacle Studio 9 along with a patch, because it offers some nice features when capturing raw video. Shortly after, I began having a boot problem. The ASUS screen would come up as usual, but it would hang for maybe 30 to 50 seconds, and then a blank black screen would come up with the cursor blinking at the upper-left corner. Normally the ASUS screen is on for only 10 seconds or so, followed by the black screen for a few seconds, and finally the XP start-up screen.
I have an ASUS CUBX-E mainboard in my PC. For the past three weeks I am facing a strange problem : The registry of windows xp is getting corrupted quite frequently. I have re-formatted and re-installed windows xp pro several times but its registry is getting corrupted frequently, and I get the following error :
1. "Windows could not start because the file c:windowssystem32configsystem is corrupt or missing." 2. "Error : system rootsystem32hal.dll missing"
Hey I'm running an ASUS K8V-SE Deluxe mobo w/ Windows XP Pro. When I turn on my computer it sort of hangs up on the first screen where it shows the ASUS manufacturers logo or whatever. I believe this is where it is running POST tests in the background, I've hit DELETE before to see whats happening during this and its auto detecting Primary Drives and stuff like that. Well within 20-30 seconds of that the screen goes blank and theres a one little blinking cursor for about 3 seconds then the cursor jumps down a line and blinks twice and finally the Windows XP loading screen comes up.
I just had to replace the mother board on my computer Its a Asus P4PE motherboard After replacing the motherboard, I just hooked up the hard drive I was using and the computer did come back up. The new motherboard is another P4PE warranty replacement board from Asus.
The computer is working but I can't get sound or USB services The computer doesn't even seem to know that sound hardware exists on this new motherboard for some reason... The USB, I have no idea why its not working other then the fact I can't get my USB printer or camera to work... Do I have to "Reload" XP? I don't want to loose what's on my hard drive... What should I do to get this right??? In all the years I've had computers I've never had a motherboard die before so I'm not sure how to proceed!!!
I have a Gateway 7422GX which as a Mobility Radeon 9550. I repaired windows using the cd because I restarted my computer and it was either going to take 7min+ to boot, or just wasn't going to. I got stuck at the windows splash screen. I'm using windows professional. Whenever I try to install any of the drivers, I get the same error message: Setup did not find a driver compatible with your current hardware or operating system. Setup will now exit.
